2.6lb loss this week!

Wasn't sure what to do next week, but as I am due on my period, and just had the Covid jab, I worked out my average daily intake last week, which was 1,200 a day, and I am just going to have this every day. Should see another 2.5lb loss by the weekend 🙏. Being in ketosis isn't my concern at the moment.

After that it will be time for 5/2!

I made overnight oats, oh wow they are food of the gods.

MistySkiesAreGone · 23/04/2023 17:01

After looking at last week again, I changed my mind and going to do the new 5/2.

I actually managed 3 fast days last week, so 4/3, but feel 3 again would be a stretch. I've done calorie math (always reassuring) and it will be 1430 on normal days which I can manage.

I looked ahead and maintenance will be 1900 cals a day and 1 fast day. I don't want to ditch the fast day as it will keep me focused. That seems tonnes! But I was probably averaging about this on processed food, without a fast day, hence gradual weight gain.

Tunneltiger · 24/04/2023 11:20

Morning!
Lots of inspiration here! Really in awe of how you are making this work for you @MistySkiesAreGone . Hello @MercianQueen great first week - that initial whooosh is very motivating. Lovely to get into clothes that haven't fit for a while - I have a huge wardrobe covering 6 dress sizes (smallest barely worn) @Tailrunner I think you and I must have started at the same size! Hope your wobble has settled down @Anewagain.
Just getting over horrible cold with persistent nasty cough. As a consequence. I haven't been able to get out with the dog as much but I have pretty much stuck to plan (apart from Benylyn and Strepsils do they count?). Found myself with a VERY unexpected 3.8lb loss this morning and I'm taking that! Going to try and keep on plan this week by using shakes for lunch and up the exercise as bank holiday and birthday coming up. 40lbs lost since New Year and 21lbs to go. Good luck with your day everybody!

MistySkiesAreGone · 24/04/2023 14:48

That's amazing loss @Tunneltiger both last week and in total!

Feeling more in the swing of it again after last week and seeing that it still works!

Looking about 950 cals for today. Had a 600g loss this morning. Back into the good place with about 8lb more to nudge off.

I might post less often now as feel more confident that I know what I am doing. I have learned so much about diet and sticking to goals. Most importantly, last night I experienced what I can only describe as freedom from food fear, where I felt really satisified and not worried I might overeat because everything is planned, and because I know nutritionally I am getting enough. I feel like I've broken the overeat restrict cycle.

So 2 more weeks ticking over with daily loss (I hope), then moving into maintenance calories.

I've decided to apply this approach to some other areas of my life that need working on, so I have broken down a big project into three stages. I do really when I hyper focus on one big project at a time (my adhd lol) and its time to do that project I have been putting off! It should like this one take about 6 weeks. After that its moving onto my exercise project, which is to get a little more focused there.

Will keep cheering all of you on!

Ledochas · 24/04/2023 19:11

Hi everyone please can I join?
Have read through your recent posts and some of the successes are so motivating!!

I followed this WOE three years ago after having DD and lost all my pregnancy weight plus more, down to 9.5st.

Looking at pics I looked younger and so much fresher somehow!

Then went back to work and the stress of juggling a busy job and a toddler, somehow allowed 2st to creep back on, back up to 11.5st.

got pregnant again and had DS, who is now 10 weeks old. Put on 2st over pregnancy.

Weighed in this morning at 12.5st so only 1st down since having an 8lb baby! Really need a kick start to see the scales move and fit into something that isn't leggings or maternity vests. It's starting to get me down to be honest.

Fasted 14 hours and started the day with Greek yoghurt and fruit plus a tiny few seeds & nuts. Just had a curry from the blue book. Did however have a cappuccino mid afternoon which is v bad on day 1 but anyway. Coming in at 930cal, 50g carbs, 80g protein, 40g fat. Any comments on the macros gratefully received as I am a bit rusty.

Also tips for getting through to tomorrow morning as still feel hungry! But I know in a few days I'll be used to it again, need to keep focus!

Anewagain · 24/04/2023 19:53

Thanks @Tunneltiger - a little less wobbly today so hoping to keep that up throughout this week. Well done on your incredible loss since the NY - wow!! We’re in a similar place in terms of loss and what’s left to lose. I’ve lost momentum since the Easter holidays and your post is an encouragement to keep going!

Well done @MistySkiesAreGone and good luck with the other projects you’re working on.

Welcome @Ledochas and congratulations on your little one. I’m not an expert on macros and I’m sure others will help but I’d recommend being gentle on yourself with a baby. This WOE did mean I lacked energy at times initially.

Morning all! Back on things today after a very bad weekend. That's the last of my weekends away for a while now, though - one night out doesn't have the same impact as a whole weekend eating butteries and drinking like a fish. I have 6 weeks until I go on holiday, so I'm buckling down now. Yesterday I ate low-carb but not within calories to ease myself back in.

@Tunneltiger, your loss is amazing, well done!

@MistySkiesAreGone, you've done so well too, and you're so close to maintenance now, jealous!

Welcome @Ledochas, and congratulations on your new baby. Take it easy to start with - I did 5:2 after having DS and stuck to 1000 calories on fast days and still lost. Are you breastfeeding? 800 calories might be hard going if you are, plus you're still recovering physically from the birth and coping with broken sleep.

@Anewagain, you can do it! I found it really hard getting back on the wagon in April, what with no fewer than 3 weekends away, but once you get back into your groove it will click again. You were doing really well and have had a well-deserved break, so don't beat yourself up about a couple of weeks off.

Ledochas · 25/04/2023 14:36

Thanks so much @Anewagain and @TooExtraImmatureCheddar for the welcome.
I'm combi feeding so yea will up the calories a bit as needed. Day 2 going okay so far but the scales showed a slight gain this morning! Now doubting if I misread yesterday. Either way will ignore and weigh at end of week.

Also I'm very reliant on caffeine right now so not doing well on that front! One step at a time though!! Will test a few things out in this first week calorie and food wise and see if I can find the right balance and still get the scales moving. Fingers crossed!

MistySkiesAreGone · 25/04/2023 15:00

Ah thanks @TooExtraImmatureCheddar and thanks for the support here. You're all amazing.

Walkingintheminefield · 26/04/2023 06:35

Well done for confronting your situation and deciding to do something about it.
It's a journey like all things in life and you have to take the first step to have any chance of arriving at a destination. I did the fast 800 diet in 2018 and my goal was to lose 20pounds in the 8 weeks. I managed 17 pounds and was happy with that. Hope it is going OK for you.

Anewagain · 29/04/2023 21:10

Thank you for the encouragement and for sharing your story @Walkingintheminefield

Hope everyone is doing ok over the bank holiday weekend. I made the Cheesy Beef Fajita Casserole from the Keto recipe book tonight and it’s a definite hit. It’s higher calories than I’d usually have but feels like a weekend treat food so is worth it (probably feels like a treat because of the grilled cheese!)… and we can have leftovers tomorrow.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 02/05/2023 12:14

Hi everyone! Just checking in to see where you've all gone. I've been stuck on the same 2/3lbs for a while now - clearly being good during the week and bad at weekends is Not Helpful. I have invited a few friends round for coronation Saturday (read: to get pissed in the garden), but am going to try to buckle down properly until then (which I know I have said before!). I've just had those smoked salmon/cucumber/cream cheese and horseradish snacks from the Easy recipe book, plus apple wedges with Dolcelatte and peanut butter. This is now my favourite lunch because it was all divine.

MistySkiesAreGone · 02/05/2023 21:18

Quietly plodding along @TooExtraImmatureCheddar with about 6lb more to lose! Don't worry about the same cycle of losing and gaining - the brain gets bored of it eventually and you get out of your own way! God that dolcelatte sounds amazing and what an easy lunch to grab!

I've had some time off and made from the books (sorry cba to post which ones)
Chocolate granola - omg might be a mistake as its now sitting in a jar, but this is very good! Think I might limit to 1 bowl a week or maybe even as a topping. Need to make the fruit and nut granola next.
Spiced bean soup - I have been really impressed with the bean and lentil recipes, I feel, if I may, that these are like advanced Fast800 for me- they don't look appealing, they are not insta worthy, but the nourishment value is immense, always super tasty, keep you full and not terribly fattening. Wish I'd learned this sooner in life!
What else...halloumi and ratattouile bake which is heaven, cottage pie with swede which is very filling, berry compote which is to die for, overnight oats which were also delish! Continually trying to fire myself up about this WOE that it IS going to stick because it is a WOE not a diet.

Anewagain · 04/05/2023 18:12

Also here plodding along. Struggling to motivate myself to make dinner tonight so checking in to nudge myself to get up and get going before I fall apart and eat the first thing I see.

Bank holidays are a bugger aren't they? Like @TooExtraImmatureCheddar I've been a bit up and down this week, which I'm blaming on my relaxed weekends being a bit longer and more relaxed over a BH! Still 7.5 pounds down in total though, and I said I wanted to be half a stone lighter before I go to France at the end of next week to see my Mum.

Camping this weekend so lots of eating out, but I'm not stressing too much as I know I'll get plenty of exercise. If I can just maintain this up until France I'll be very happy.

On the plus side, I am really enjoying the food, as is Mr Queen. Fish with puy lentils and herby sauce last night was a massive hit (agree the lentil resides are usually excellent), and glazed ginger tofu tonight which was the standout dish from last week. I make my own yoghurt and had a vat to use up, so I've also had the blueberry bircher everyday which has upped the protein. Onwards!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/05/2023 09:33

Bank holidays really are a bugger! I’m still here, still the same weight, still trying to get my head back in the game. I’ll do my Tesco order this morning and then I’ll feel a bit more under control. Week 4 run 2 of Couch 2 5k done this morning, though!

MistySkiesAreGone · 11/05/2023 14:55

Well done on the run! Ticking over and plodding on here. Loss is incremental, and I'm zig zagging e.g. 1700 cals, 1400 cals, 950 cals, 1700 cals etc. Slow is good.

xraydelta · 11/05/2023 18:14

Bank holidays really are pants 🙈

I need to get strict again.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 14/05/2023 09:38

Klaxon: I am in the 10s! 10 stone 13.6 to be exact. Hurray! As I’m short I still have over a stone to go, but I’ve been stuck in the 11s for weeks and weeks. So pleased!

MistySkiesAreGone · 14/05/2023 14:29

Hurrah!!! I am so so pleased for you @TooExtraImmatureCheddar ! Well done!!!

MistySkiesAreGone · 14/05/2023 14:45

I'm still enjoying this WOE and plodding on maintaining/losing :) Had a wee win which is that I've been hovering around the same couple of pounds for yonks and finally got below it, so 4.3lb to lose.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 14/05/2023 15:23

Yay for the win, @MistySkiesAreGone!

Anewagain · 15/05/2023 09:35

Fantastic @TooExtraImmatureCheddar and @MistySkiesAreGone
Let’s get going again at the start of a new week @xraydelta. I’ve bought ingredients for mushroom soup for lunch and chicken curry with salad for dinner.

xraydelta · 16/05/2023 08:16

Yes, absolutely @Anewagain 🙌🏻

New week, new start.

My week will just have to begin today on Tuesday 😆

How was your day yesterday?

And well done @TooExtraImmatureCheddar and @MistySkiesAreGone 🎉

Anewagain · 16/05/2023 11:07

My day went well yesterday @xraydelta and I saw a drop on the scales this morning so a very good start to the week. Hope your start of the week today goes well 🙌 For a long time Tuesdays was my weigh in day and worked well for me - enough time to drop a again after a weekend wobble and enough of the work week left to motivate me to have a good week.

it’s bright and sunny here so feeling good and positive all round.

Left over mushroom soup for lunch. Not sure yet about dinner but will have to be something super easy.
