The Saturday before Christmas is an odd time to join but I feel so unwell and bloated from overindulging I have to do something right now!

2 stone 4 lbs to lose, this is what I’ve gained since March. Far worse than the ‘lockdown stone’. Main culprit is bread (DH makes a loaf in bread maker every day) with a thick layer of butter for breakfast and wine every evening. Potatoes with most dinners too.

Early March I had completed C25K and was low carbing. So I know I need to go back to this. I have the Fast800 book, love Mediterranean diet and veg so how hard can it be Grin.

I will read this thread over the weekend and get menu planning.

Vegtovictory · 20/12/2020 12:01

Good first day yesterday, started C25K and had one big evening meal of roast cauliflower, brussel spouts and celeriac chips.

Today is roast chicken, green veg and avoiding the potatoes.

Vegtovictory · 21/12/2020 10:50

I hope I haven’t killed this thread!

Avoided the roast potatoes yesterday but did eat crisps. Annoyed with myself this morning. Day 3 for me and I’ve lost 2 lbs and feel better for it.

Vegtovictory · 23/12/2020 11:53

Plodding along here, day 5. Haven’t had potatoes or bread and feel much better for it. Still having wine with dinner though.

B Coffee
L 2 scrambled eggs
D duck confit, brussel sprouts and carrots

Postmanbear · 24/12/2020 15:02

I did two more strict weeks at the beginning of December but since then I have been eating and drinking everything.
In January I will get back on it as I’m piling on weight and I feel hungry and tired all the time but Christmas is very depressing this year so I’m doing whatever I fancy to get through it.

Postmanbear · 24/12/2020 15:07

@Nonononon that’s brilliant progress, well done! And @thenewaveragebear1983
congratulations on being below 10 stone. I’ll have to check out the paleo diet.
@PhoenixMama sorry to hear about your daughter, I hope she’s doing better now 💐

flloyd · 26/12/2020 19:08

Can I join in please? I waited till today as Xmas is rather tricky with family eating but I want to shrink my waist from 31.5 to 29.5 if that is possible! I have the F800 book and think I understand the principles though I have tried before and struggled for reasons I cannot fathom!! Anyway, hopefully there may be a few here who are F800 ing into 2021 and I would so appreciate joining you!! :)

JaquelineBeanstalk · 28/12/2020 12:44

Working my way gradually back on pls, though there are still some Christmas goodies lying around. They’ll be gone on a few days. I’ve started incorporating a quick HIIT workout at the start of the day, which I’m really feeling the benefit from.

Meals this week include:
Stuffed portobellos
Celeriac chips and veggie burger
Cauliflower steak
Joe wicks grains and carrot salad
Celeriac pizza
Mushroom omelette
Prawn curry w cauli rice

Kimlek · 28/12/2020 14:15

Hi all, I’m back.
I started this in Jan 2018 at 12st & lost a stone within around 3 months but put it back on.
Started again December 2019 at 12st again. Lost 2st by May and have mostly kept it off until Xmas.
I’m 10st 4lb at the mo and eating a lot of mince pies, chocolate and other such rubbish. I want to get back on it!! I’m also alcohol free and have been since 18th Dec. Saying hi on her gives me some accountability and enforces me to plan etc.

Coconuts2020 · 31/12/2020 07:49

Hi everyone! You all sound like you’re doing really well.

I am still exactly the same weight as when I last checked in. I’ve stopped monitoring for a couple of weeks just to see if it made any difference but nothing has changed, at all. This just seems so wrong considering how much I lost in the first week and how much you have all lost. I am starting again today and will weigh/write everything down to find out where I am going wrong.

Nonononon · 31/12/2020 09:31

Hello all.
Well I went waaaaay off the wagon. I wouldn't say I have over eaten but definitely not stuck to the plan and have been drinking loads. Feel like shit.
Have gained 7lbs 😱 but that's off 10 days eating and drinking what I want, also had a take away last night which I'm sure will be adding to the bloat.
Going shopping today and will be fully back on plan. I'm just gonna restart the whole 12 weeks. I hope by this time next week I will have dropped that 7lbs and will be back where I started before I fell off plan.
I don't feel too bad about it. I knew what i was doing and that it would cause a set back.

I'm thinking of starting a new thread if any wants to join that will see us into the new year.

PhoenixMama · 02/01/2021 07:10

Hi all!

Ok back on it today. I'm a stone up on my lowest in 2019 (when I lost almost 50lbs) but it feels like so much more - my body feels all wobbly and my thighs are rubbing and my clothes don't fit so I think it's enough to kick start me and make me really focus this time.

I want to lose about 25lbs, the stone I've gained plus get to my original goal weight. I've constantly plateaued at the same place though so I know it's going to be tough.

Have cleared out the cupboards of all crappy food, I'm doing dry January too and will menu plan today. Hoping a really strict today and tomorrow while DD is at her dad's will be the kickstart I need to see the scale move and inspire me.

It's definitely going to be a challenge doing this with nothing really to distract me (I have no real work until April as everything was cancelled earlier this month) so I'm really going to need to get the comfort/emotional eating under control. Hoping no alcohol and low sugar will help that!

@Kimlek Nice to see a familiar face back on the thread - you were such an inspiration before so look forward to losing with you again!

@Nonononon Do you mean another thread other than this one?

Kimlek · 02/01/2021 09:31

Hi pheonix good to see you back! I got bought loads of lovely chocs for Xmas so those and the mountains of mince pies have had a dire effect. I was maintaining quite well.
nononon I’m not sure why a new thread is required. Yes, this seems a bit slow at the mo but if we post, more will join in. It was very busy last year. And everyone’s super supportive.
I’ll meal plan today. I’m not doing the 800 calorie bit. Not counting calories at all actually and probably won’t use MFP etc. But I’ll do time restrictive eating as evening snacking has slipped back in. And also the no carb no sugar principle of eating. Those strategies helped maintain and I think they’ll be enough to get me back to where I need to be. I’ll also weigh daily. I was maintaining at 10st but I’d like to get 9.11 ideally.
I’m 10.4.8 this morning. So not oodles to lose - around 8lbs.

mummymacphee · 02/01/2021 09:35

Morning all - and a very happy new year to everyone!

Back on the wagon here too. I've had two weeks of eating and drinking everything and anything and have put on 8.2 lbs. I'm actually feeling ready to get back on track as I felt bloated and tired over Christmas and had forgotten how rubbish I feel when I drink too much wine.

Even with my little'Christmas bonus' back on, I've still lost 2.5 stone since August and I've got another 2.5 stone to go. I'm determined that 2021 is going to be the year I get to my goal!

Kimlek · 02/01/2021 12:55

Sounds very positive mummymcphee Go you!!
@PhoenixMama I did day 1 adriene yoga today with my teens! I’m pretty sure it was you who introduced the idea last Jan. I’m a year late but... so blood sugar, dry jan & 30 day yoga! Jeez you won’t recognise me in Feb 😉😉

texican · 02/01/2021 23:29

Hi all, I'm starting this WOE on Monday (when I go back to work/normality) after reading the book this hol. I lost 2 stone on the 5:2 in 2013 and kept it off easily for a good few years but then massive change of personal circumstances and it's gone back on. I've spent most of this year being annoyed at myself for putting it back on and trying (failing) to restart 5:2 while working from home which was another big change for me. I used to be great at fasting while busy and out of the house but have found it v hard while working from the kitchen these last months which is unlikely to change.

Anyway, in my food plan I've incorporated lunch this time, so hopefully that will still be possible. There are some massively inspiring people and losses on here and I've enjoyed reading back through the thread. Happy new year everyone. Here's to a slimmer 2021!!

PhoenixMama · 03/01/2021 07:15

Morning all! I closed the kitchen last night on 611 calories which is better than I expected actually!

Brunch (10:30am) was 2 eggs, then I had some chicken tikka pieces as a mid-afternoon snack and dinner was a COOK meal for 1 Singapore noodles. I definitely have the early headache and some tummy rumbling but I'm determined to get back to it this time so just acknowledged that I was clearly not starving to death and let it pass. I will up my salt & magnesium though as that helped last time.

@Kimlek Yay for Adriene! It was me last year - so glad you're doing it this year too - I'm also doing dry January and low sugar so we can keep each other going!

@texican I definitely find using TRE as a way to not eat 'breakfast' until late/mid morning a really helpful way of not being over cals every day but also not being as hungry!

PhoenixMama · 03/01/2021 07:23

Oh and I weighed in this morning - down 2lbs already!

I looked back at my 2019 results and I lost 21lbs in the first month (but I had a lot more to lose iykwim) but I lost 7lbs in month 2 so I think 10lbs is a good goal for Month 1 this time. Let's see!!

Kimlek · 03/01/2021 09:31

texican hi! You did brilliantly on the 5:2 a few years ago so you can definitely do this! It’s much trickier wfh with temptations all around. I’ve told my teens we’re cutting back on sugar and processed foods as a family so there’s no cakes/biscuits etc in the house. No doubt they’ll bake some at some stage but not every blooming day!
phoenix 2lbs already! My rate is always really slow even being strict 800! I’ve just looked back at last Jan weighing 12st and every month was 5lbs. But if I get 5lbs off this month I’ll be very happy as that was my June weight.
Once I’m back to 10st I’m going to start a maintenance thread to keep me in check!
Didn’t do well yesterday... a few milk coffees for bfast, no lunch but ate a load of Xmas chocolates! Did a chicken & veg stir fry for dinner. Drank herbal teas. I did plan a menu for the next five days starting today though.
& your headaches could also be alcohol related phoenix - mine were shocking last week. But sleeping sooooo much better.
Just nipped off to weigh - 10.3.0 so 1.8 off which doesn’t seem right given the amount of chocs consumed. But I’ll take it 🤗

MysweetAudrina · 03/01/2021 11:29

Hope to join back in soon. Have been eating and enjoying all the food over the last 3 weeks and haven't weighed myself once. Am hoping to ease back in over the next week and concentrate on upping my water and lowering my sugars with a view to weighing on 11/01 when hopefully some of the water weight will have reduced. Well done to everyone who has stayed on track and welcome back those who are ready to go at it again.

I'd like to join again please.
I have been with Bear for many many threads moons ago.

Kimlek · 03/01/2021 15:58

I remember you @Oblomov20 on these threads with bear but you were also massively supportive on a different thread when my eldest was having a horrific time with bullies - I used a different name for that. But I do remember!! Thankyou!

Oblomov20 · 03/01/2021 16:10

Hi Kimlek.
I will read the last few threads to get back up to speed.

Coconuts2020 · 03/01/2021 16:11

Hello! I have downloaded the Noom app and used it to track for a couple of days - I have discovered some things that are a lot more calories than I thought they were... as expected! So will attempt properly now with some proper writing down /measuring.

PhoenixMama · 03/01/2021 16:27

@Oblomov20 Welcome! I think I remember you from Bear's threads as well!

@Coconuts2020 It's definitely a shock when you start weighing and measuring stuff but so important if you've only got 800 calls to work with!
