Morning,
I was higher in carbs yesterday at 70g but food choices weren't too bad and finished on 800 calories. Phoenix I think I recognise you from when I was first on these threads in 2018/2019, I also find it much more difficult second or is it third time around. I've decided that I won't count calories on a Saturday but will stay below 50g carbs not including alcohol as it worked for me first time around.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 24/04/2021 15:24

I'm not counting on Saturdays either but making sensible choices and not using it as an excuse to dive head first into the chocolate or crisps.

Glorious here today. I've pottered, had my eyebrows done, sat in the garden with an elderly relative, gardened and now sitting out in the sun with the rabbit on the lawn.

Not thinking about food but I have had a burger from the local butcher (high meat content, low rusk) in an actual bread roll. First bread I've eaten in a fortnight.
I have tomorrow and the week ahead meals and calories all planned in advance.

traintraveller · 24/04/2021 16:13

I've had cheese with poppadom "crackers" for lunch, thinking about salad with baked Feta for dinner but currently nowhere
near hungry. It's gorgeous here so think I'll sit in the garden with a g&t.

Tinselandlights · 25/04/2021 16:09

I've been out for lunch today - I had a felafel salad from Comptoir Libanais but I think it will have taken me out of ketosis as it had little bits of toasted pitta in it and a coffee. Bbq later too although I am not in the slightest bit hungry right now!

Tinselandlights · 25/04/2021 16:10

@traintraveller what are poppadum crackers? (As they sound?!)

traintraveller · 25/04/2021 18:30

Tinsel exactly as they sound, a big one broken gives me a base for 5 or 6 bits of cheese at 35 cals and 3.2g carbs.

Tinselandlights · 25/04/2021 22:19

That sounds brilliant!

LotsOfTrees · 26/04/2021 06:50

Kimlek · 26/04/2021 10:05

Morning! Back again. If you’ll have me?
I last posted on here in mid January to say I was maintaining around 10st over the last year. Mmm spoke too soon and/or became complacent. Over the last few months it’s crept on due to lack of exercise, too much chocolate & cake and very recently ice-cream. Im also really really bad at devouring fistfuls of nuts! Sooo many nuts. I went alcohol free prior to Xmas and I think I’ve filled that void with food & calorific drinks.
This thread has helped me be accountable in the past so here I am (again). I’ve not logged anything into MFP for yonks. So I need to start doing that; beginning today.
My plan is to fast until lunch each day and stop the crappy food. I also need to plan my meals, which I haven’t been doing. Use the fast 800 recipe books (and not double the quantities or go off piste with little additions). And definitely drink more water.
So 5ft 6in weigh in at 149lbs aim is 140lbs (10st).

Kimlek · 26/04/2021 10:12

@DrMadelineMaxwell would you mind sharing your plan for the week please? I always find it really inspiring seeing others plans and having some ideas (and stealing them!)

traintraveller · 26/04/2021 10:53

Start of week 2 for me. Soup for lunch and omelette for dinner I think. Also need to remember to take measurements as I can't be doing with the angst of monitoring weight. I found trying on items of clothing that were a bit tight I couldn't get into a great motivator first time I did bsd so will start that from next week. Thinking about getting back into my work wardrobe is scary!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 26/04/2021 11:56

This week I am going to go on my rowing machine for 10 mins daily, more for a toning of arms and legs goal rather than cardio after being warned about the impact exercise can have. When my class go out for early mile I will walk round with them too which helps me get my 10000 steps daily.

Food every day for will be the same for breakfast (nothing) breaking my fast with a coffee at 11, and lunch (ham hock salad with a tablespoon of coleslaw and an apple) then a meat and veg based dinner.
Dinners are...
Roast chicken and veg monday.
A carvery outside at a local pub Tues (meat and veg skip the roasties!)
Wed is beef and chicken skewers with salad.
Thurs chinese chicken thighs with...more salad.
Friday more veg and meat.

Kimlek · 26/04/2021 12:43

Sounds good Dr
I’ve just had my typical stir fry kale, tomatoes, seeds with 2 eggs for lunch and a rather naughty halo ice cream stick. That’ll have to be the only treat today.

ElizaCrempog · 26/04/2021 14:39

Hi, can I join you? Started Fast 800 last week and got on the scales this morning to find I'd lost 8lbs - down from 11st 3 to 10st 9. Def need a bit of accountability/comradeship to keep at it though...Wink

Tinselandlights · 26/04/2021 17:24

Awesome work @ElizaCrempog! I'm two weeks in and also lost 8lbs in my first week (11st 4.5lbs starting weight!) so we're about the same!

traintraveller · 26/04/2021 18:46

Good start to week 2 for me, 755 cals and 44g carbs. I'm away for work for a few days from tomorrow so hope I can stick to plan

PhoenixMama · 26/04/2021 20:29

Discovered today that the only supermarket close to my work location for a week basically only has sandwiches and I had planned on buying salads for lunch so definitely need to pivot! First day doing my job in person with other people in the room since Dec 2019! Starving & very tired!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 26/04/2021 22:11

Finishing the day on 850 cals. Really enjoyed my meals and am not sitting here feeling hungry.

ElizaCrempog · 26/04/2021 23:48

Thanks @Tinselandlights I was pretty surprised! It's my birthday in a fortnight so hoping to feel a bit less chunky by then Grin
On a run of nights now so going to have to work really hard to avoid snacking to get me through...Diet Coke will be my friend!

Puffincrossing · 27/04/2021 06:40

Hello All, this thread is sounding very positive Smile My on/off couple of lbs are back but I've been away for long weekend. I didn't log food but had low carb choices for every meal apart from Saturday when I had mushroom/halloumi in brioche bun and small fries with a small bottle of beer (1st one in I have no idea how long!) in the sun and enjoyed them. I have drunk too much wine and snacked on nuts. So, now only 0.2lb down on last Tuesday but very pleased with that all the same.

Going to make some more low carb bread and soup for lunches this week. I made almond crackers last week (100g ground almonds + egg white, roll until thin, cut into pieces, bake, turn finish baking until crisp). They were very good with Boursin cheese but poppadom crisps are inspired and sound much easier for less calories so will give them a go.

texican · 27/04/2021 07:04

Morning all,

Lovely positive thread for me to skulk back into after a ropey weekend. I ate generally on plan meals but did snack and most of all drank all the wine in the country so definitely deserved the immediate punishment I received on the scales yesterday. I got back on it yesterday but I'm in my hormonal 'starving with hollow legs' phase of my cycle plus have a cold and am knackered so the cravings for peanut butter toast were almost overwhelming yesterday. Think this will be one of those gripping on for dear life and ride it out sort of weeks but has to be the way sometimes.

Some brilliant losses here, well done losers! @Puffincrossing I think being able to enjoy a lovely relaxed weekend is worth not losing every now and then, but it sounds like you'd found a new groove last week and saw some good success which is brill. Welcome @ElizaCrempog, welcome back @kimlek. @PhoenixMama you must be exhausted just from being outside the house and around people when you've not been used to it. A bit of me is dreading that when it comes as it feels v different to my quiet house! Can you take leftovers for your lunch? Or make up a big salad every few days and grab some in a box in the morning?

Hope everyone has a good day. Please send willpower my way if you have any spare 🙈

Tinselandlights · 27/04/2021 07:19

Sending willpower @texican!

I weighed in this am at 10 stone 7, with another 2lb weight loss taking me to 10.8lbs lost in three weeks.

I am so hormonal and can feel how sore my boobs are so am v glad I didn't have the water retention I'd usually get.

It's my wedding anniversary today and DH has bought steak and salad so we can celebrate but I can stay on plan... what a keeper!

Today is week three day 1 for me and I feel good! I'm definitely sleeping better.

Kimlek · 27/04/2021 09:36

You made me laugh texican as I can fully relate to the ‘starving hollow legs’ syndrome. My kids all had awful days yesterday with ‘exams-not-exams’ GCSEs & A levels and needed cheering up with Domino’s apparently. Of course I could t resist a few slices! 🙄 So a really really rubbish first day with around 2000 calories! But dust myself down and today’s a new day. Except I have the ‘hollow leg’ syndrome. Tummy rumbling constantly - only 3 hours to go til lunch. I think starting the day at 630 doesn’t help!
Haven’t weighed this morning. Have walked the dog for an hour albeit with a friend who’s a slowish Walker so wasn’t exactly rigorous. Plan is the usual ‘kale, toms, eggs & seeds’ lunch. Dinner will be tuna fillet with veggies. And lots of water. Wish me luck!

Kimlek · 27/04/2021 09:39

Oh and sending absolutely everyone luck & will power & strength & good vibes all round! 🤗

MrsTaytodarling · 27/04/2021 17:55

Hi can I join in?
I started a calorie counting diet 7 weeks ago and down 12lbs. Last week however I stayed the same and the 2 weeks before that I was only down 1lb. I have an event in 5 weeks and I ordered the book today. Can I have an overview please until the book comes? Smile
