Well done @LockdownLard! That's amazing!

I have to see my fertility doctor today. I've decided to knock 900g off my weight so I'm not in the obese category anymore. He won't weight me anyway 😂. I weighed in the morning and it was static so I decided to take my PJs off, which apparently weighed 600g so I was 600g down on yesterday. I guess there's only so many times you can take your clothes off when weighing in, but I think it's worth it this time ahead of said doctor's appointment. I also measured my waist, which is in the healthy range, although it used to be smaller.

Stats:

3rd March
Weight: 94.4kg
BMI: 31.2

Now
Weight: 91.4kg (telling the doctor 90.5)
BMI: 30.2
Waist: 77cm/31"
Widest bit of bum(hips?): 111cm/44"
Chest: 99cm/39"
Height: 174cm/5ft9

CycleGirl20 · 17/03/2021 12:14

@HeeHiHoHum today I'm having:

Lunch:
2 boiled eggs, 40g mushrooms, 60g red/yellow peppers, 30g courgette, 2g coconut oil. You could make an omelet but I just wanted a bit of a hash.

Dinner: 65g edamame pasta (www.<a class="break-all" href="https://amazon.co.uk/Explore-Asian-Organic-Edamame-Spaghetti/dp/B00QLU71V4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=edamame%20pasta&sprefix=eda&qid=1615982679&sr=8-3%29%2C&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-fasting-diet-4063831-blood-sugar-diet-fast-800-thread-22" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/Explore-Asian-Organic-Edamame-Spaghetti/dp/B00QLU71V4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=edamame+pasta&qid=1615982679&sprefix=eda&sr=8-3), 100g edamame beans, 10g parmesan, 112g prawns. Salad dressing: 9g balsamic, 3ml honey, 5g olive oil, 3g Dijon mustard, salt & pepper + rocket + 3 cherry tomatoes.

Dessert: 1 10g square of 70% lindt.

838 cal, 20g carbs, 78g protein, 41 fat. 20% c, 40% f, 40% p. I've been focusing more on hitting my protein target and not going over on carbs. Anything else I'm happy with.

fizzfridays · 17/03/2021 17:44

@CycleGirl20 you must have a lovely hourglass shape with that waist measurement, I am firmly in the apple category which I hate!

I've felt much better today, still not exactly springing about with energy but the weather isn't very spring like either.

I've had:
M: bone broth
L: cheeseburger salad with lettuce, onion, low carb ketchup, mustard, gherkins
And planning
D: chilli lime chicken with spinach salad and hard boiled egg

The cheeseburger salad was delicious, tasted like a Big Mac! Coming in at 758 cals and 19g carbs so pretty happy.

DH has opened a bottle of wine, I might have to stop talking to him for the evening

PhoenixMama · 17/03/2021 18:21

Ooooh whats a cheeseburger salad? Sound amazing!

CycleGirl20 · 17/03/2021 19:39

Yes please cheese(veggie)burger salad!

Puffincrossing · 17/03/2021 20:00

I'm still with you all. It has been a tough week reading through social media and I've got a lot on right now so feeling rather stressed! I am exactly the same weight I was last Wednesday. Obviously I would rather be making some headway but dd made me a huge cake for Mother's Day. I don't want her getting weird food hang ups from me so I had cake, Sun, Mon & Tue Blush. I have been angelic today but mainly because it's dh's birthday tomorrow so he wants take out for dinner as there's not much else we can do to make the day different from any other and then we'll be going into the weekend. I don't expect to lose but I am going to try to not put on too much.

Hello to all new joins and returners Smile it's interesting looking at macros. I struggle to get enough protein as a vegetarian without having loads of fat.

PhoenixMama · 17/03/2021 20:19

I have been starving all day, super stressful day and I can't stop eating. Maybe i need to step away for a bit? I don't know what's wrong with me!

fizzfridays · 18/03/2021 09:29

@PhoenixMama @CycleGirl20 it's not much of a recipe, just a skinny beef burger cooked then crumbled up on a bed of lettuce, finely chopped red onion, gherkins, tomatoes, handful of shredded cheese. I then mix some no sugar ketchup with Colman's mustard and drizzle over- mine came out at 300 calories unit it depends what cheese/ burgers you use.

I also really struggled yesterday, just had no energy at all again and felt quite light headed when walking. I walk about 15km a day at the moment, so I think I am going to up cals to 1000 for a bit and see how I get on. I'm wary that if I force myself to stick to 800 when I feel awful it's likely to end up in binges of junk which will do far more damage than increasing cals slightly until I adapt!

Hope everyone has a good Thursday

CycleGirl20 · 18/03/2021 10:04

@fizzfridays I know the feeling. I often cycle a lot and some big distances and try to walk 8+km per day. It sounds sensible what you're saying with the 1000cals. I cycled 30km the other day and spent the whole afternoon almost falling asleep as I had no energy!

Thanks for the compliment above. I always feel like my bum and boobs look cartoonish when my BMI is this high and envy people with slimmer legs 😅. I guess we all deserve more confidence in ourselves given the work we're putting in to looking after our bodies and our health

HeeHiHoHum · 18/03/2021 10:09

@PhoenixMama That sounds difficult - it's awful feeling hungry and run down. I have no advice, just a hand hold and virtual cheerleading!

@CycleGirl20 @fizzfridays thanks for the menus - it's great to have new ideas of what could be included. I've definitely bookmarked the cheeseburger salad for next week!

I hit 72kg today which takes me from obese to overweight (with a BMI of 29.9 so it really is on a knife's edge!) but am happy to be in it, however narrowly I scrape in.

CycleGirl20 · 18/03/2021 12:23

@fizzfridays congratulations on the 29.9bmi. I'm exactly the same! 29.9.

CycleGirl20 · 18/03/2021 12:28

Also Fizz, I was going to recommend Skyr or Total yogurt. A big bowl of that with strawberries is a good breakfast or lunch

fizzfridays · 19/03/2021 09:09

@HeeHiHoHum fab news about the BMI, well done!

Hope you're feeling better @PhoenixMama.

Eurgh I had a terrible day yesterday, I had a migraine Weds eve so was up all night then dropped a weight on my toe Thurs morning and had a meltdown! I fell headfirst into a pile of junk. I'm so cross with myself, I only enjoyed eating the first few bites but carried on anyway. It just shows I need a plentiful supply of acceptable foods on hand while I deal with emotional eating. I am obviously incapable of moderation with junk foods so just can't have them round me at the moment. Probably undone all my progress, but it's a lesson learned.

Back on track today, been for a walk in the spring sunshine and know what I need to do. Onwards and upwards.

CycleGirl20 · 19/03/2021 18:34

Sounds like you had a tough day Fizz. I always try just to move on and not do something like try and make up for it the day after as it just makes things harder and then I always end up more likely to mess up! Hopefully the weekend is better for you ☺️

fizzfridays · 19/03/2021 21:22

Thanks @CycleGirl20 I had a much better day today and feeling more positive again. Good advice to just carry on, I usually fall into the trap of trying to make up for it and fast or eat less which then leads to a vicious cycle.

B: eggs and avo
L: chicken salad with red pepper and feta
D: heck chicken sausage, chopped tomato, broccoli and mozzarella bake.

Total: 972 (I'm aiming for 1000 for the moment)

Happy Friday everyone!

CycleGirl20 · 20/03/2021 16:01

It was such a nice day today and I really fancied getting outside properly. 4 hours of cycling later, I've burned 1,400 calories so I'm desperately trying to eat low fat, high protein yogurt and have decided 1,600 is a reasonable number of calories for me today. How's everyone else's Saturday?

Suffolkelfie · 21/03/2021 10:15

Morning everyone.
End of week 1 of Fast 800 and I have lost 4 pounds. I am pleased with that as I wasn't expecting a massive loss due to losing 7.5 lb over the previous 3 weeks after giving up sugar, bread and alcohol.
Stats
Weight 16/02 12:1 BMI 29.9
Weight 14/03 11:8 BMI 28.7
Weight 21/03 11:4 BMI 28.0
14/03
Waist 35”
Belly 38”
21/03
Waist 35”
Belly 38”
Disappointed that my measurements haven't changed. I did however eat salted peanuts whilst cooking last night. I don't know why I did it as I wasn't even particularly hungry, so may have retained water as a result.
I also find it difficult to drink enough water.

PhoenixMama · 21/03/2021 12:44

Hi everyone. I'm taking the weekend off as I just needed to give myself a break rather than taking bits of a break and getting annoyed with myself. I ended up looking through a bunch of old pics on Friday night and it's so interesting to look at where I was, how bad I got and where I am now. I think what I need more than anything right now (aside from pushing to lose 1 more stone) is actually to tone up. I'm still 43lbs down from where I was but I'm not as toned as I was at a similar weight. Spending some time this weekend thinking about that and how I can try and fit more moving into my life (which is obviously so hard in lockdown). I'm actually going to be in a room with other people working on a project at the end of April and I really want to feel confident walking in there to do my thing (also one of the other project leads is super hot so I want to make a good impression!) I think I need to accept that I only have the focus for 4 more weeks of this and then I'm going to be looking at maintaining/stopping the gain. So I'm going to go to 6:1 for the next 4 weeks (that way I can pool all my cravings into 1 day a week) and try and up my exercise. Will weigh in tomorrow morning and go from there!

fizzfridays · 21/03/2021 15:07

@CycleGirl20 that's a. Impressive bike ride, definitely earned your extra cals!

@Suffolkelfie that's a great loss, you must be thrilled. I'm sure your measurements will catch up, it's loving to be some water retention after the salty peanuts.

@PhoenixMama do you find you are able to be relatively sensible on your days off? I think I need the strict boundaries at the moment, once I start on bready/ sugary things I can't stop!

CycleGirl20 · 21/03/2021 16:33

Wow @PhoenixMama that's an impressive total loss.

Today I've been dreaming of pub beer gardens. I'd absolutely love a glass of red wine today. I'm planning to have a break over Easter which is less than 2 weeks off. Still absolutely craving a drink today

shreddergodo · 21/03/2021 22:13

Hi everyone! Another week half on half off plan and still maintaining. Swapping to kg to see if that motivates me a bit more. Back on fast800 this week, have bought in all the good stuff (Also has a blow out as my last sweet hurrah!) and will let you know How I get on. Will also weigh in tomorrow start of the week. Don’t know why but just no motivation even though I feel like the 2 weeks I was on plan were so helpful not only with how I looked but how I felt. I’m also just about to get my period so feel enormous and grumpy 😂

I’ve started running again, hoping to get to 10k in July- anyone else feel to fat to run tight now? My poor knees are aching!!!

shreddergodo · 21/03/2021 22:14

👋 hiii @CycleGirl20 and @fizzfridays - It’s nice to see the thread active to come back to, sounds like you are both doing good! Are you mums too? I feel like there’s a high hmmmm contingent!!

texican · 22/03/2021 07:44

Morning everyone, happy Monday.

I was quiet on here last week but had a good week on the whole. Weekend not so good, although not as bad as last weekend. I'm doing more 4:3 at the moment and losing ever so slightly but will need to crack on after Easter (which is bound to be off track) to lose the last few lbs and give me some wiggle room.

@PhoenixMama I'm exactly the same - weight wise I could lose another 5-7lbs or so but even that won't make me feel how I imagine I 'should' look at that weight due to my lack of toning. I know I've lost a decent amount now but still very conscious that my tum is still the tum of an overweight person (apple) and I guess that will take time to shed through carrying on with lower carb and doing some exercise. I'm going to have to go back to Jillian aren't I!!! 😫 I also still haven't really lost in my face either yet so that's annoying me too! Hoping that comes soon.

I can highly recommend these as a nice lunch www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/thai-green-pork-lettuce-cups I made them on Friday and it was really quick. Had it for dinner too last night but I just chopped up lots of lettuce and mixed the mince in. It's lovely and fresh. That'll be my lunch again today, and then I think dinner will be something with chicken - either thighs cafedelites.com/chicken-thighs/ or breasts cafedelites.com/balsamic-baked-chicken-breast/ with salad.

I really like reading people's meal plans (partly for ideas, partly 'cos I like reading about food!!!). Well done to all the 'losers' last week, and particularly to @LockdownLard for the incredible blood sugar win. I wish I'd measured mine at the start, so motivating to hear yours! Have a great day all!

PhoenixMama · 22/03/2021 09:22

Morning all!

Well up about 3lbs this weekend which I totally deserve lol Looking forward to getting back on track and being strict about using mfp. Went for a 40 min walk this morning and I've done yoga which is great.

Food for this week (haven't planned what day for each meal because I know dd will want to have an opinion!) but mostly new recipes:

Low carb stuffed peppers
Thai salmon and greens
Roast chicken thighs with spring veg
Home made chicken goujons, sweet potato fries for dd, salad for me
Thai beef salad
Friday will be homemade pizzas (made on tortillas)

Lunches will be soup, salad or low carb COOK meals. Today is smoked salmon & cream cheese on a bagel thin.

CycleGirl20 · 22/03/2021 14:08

Happy Monday all! @shreddergodo I'm unfortunately not a mum, but we're trying. It's taking longer than I hoped!

I've not lost anything for 4 days now, in spite of an epic bike ride on Saturday and an hour of cycling today. Plus walking 5-10km when not cycling. I did lose a lot quickly last week but I also felt like I was owed that having lost nothing for 3 weeks in February in spite of being super on plan. Maybe I'll have another rapid loss of a couple of KGs in the next few days. I feel like writing Michael Mosely an angry letter though. It's all right for him being able to put on 6kg "as an experiment" then lose it again in 2 weeks! It's taken me 3months to lose 8kg and that seems to go in cycles of nothing for 3 weeks, then 3kg in 2 days, then nothing. So frustrating!
