DS swam his 400. His leg then went into spasm so he withdrew from his 100m free. His legs still stuck at 90° is spasm now. He just got in the bath to see if that helps.

Has anyone's child had results that aren't theirs go onto rankings? DS swam on the 17th/18th November and the times went onto rankings fine. Today the same times have been put onto rankings again for the same days but at a gala 200 miles away that he most certainly was not at 🙈

Happened to us a couple of years ago after a meet. It was sorted quite quickly otherwise it would have affected county champs eligibility.
We also noticed that there were a couple of errors made this week from nationals on the 200 and 400 free where swimmers not even in that event were entered at the top places.

That's what I'm worrying about as this phantom event is a level 4 and he set the times at a level 2. How did you get it sorted? I've emailed Swim England using the contact form on rankings but wasn't sure if that was the right thing to do.

itsgettingweird · 08/12/2024 21:24

Obviously you want it sorted but most counties accept L4 entries so that shouldn't be an issue

Glittertwins · 09/12/2024 05:08

Counties accept L4 so it will be ok. But emailing them to let them know there is an error can't be a bad thing.

DH does fixtures.

Rankings are a nightmare - are the times faster than his? If not I would ignore tbh but if they are he’ll end up in the wrong heats.

I would probably try and track down the organiser of the level 4 meet to get them to correct it if they are faster. If it’s a club there should be details on their website. Then I think it’s possible to raise a ticket.

My daughter’s friend had a time of 2.05 for 100 free put onto rankings from the arena league, everyone just laughed about it.

They are the exact same times as he actually got at the gala he was at. The phantom gala doesn't even exist so I'm not sure they could change them. It's very bizarre.

Teateaandmoretea · 09/12/2024 10:50

Maybe it will just correct itself then.

Teateaandmoretea · 09/12/2024 10:56

Is he the only one who went to that meet who has it?

Glittertwins · 09/12/2024 17:09

Mine had a stupidly fast time put down from an arena league gala, I think it was an open age boy's time. That propelled her top of the county for a couple of days!

Yes it seems so. All very odd. Hopefully it gets sorted but if not as long as it doesn't affect any entries with him now having the same time at both a level 2 and level 4 gala then I won't worry about it too much.

Glittertwins · 09/12/2024 17:26

It really won't matter for him and county entries. You've let them know there's a mistake so it will be okay

OP posts:
itsgettingweird · 09/12/2024 17:38

Agree - and even if it does for some odd reason you can appeal rejections and they will be overturned if the mistake isn't your end!

Something weird is going on with rankings.

I tried to look at 400 free SC para ranking the other day and again today and I get error 22!

I can check other distances!

Glittertwins · 09/12/2024 17:57

There are still para swimmers with a time of 0 in the 200m and 400m in the non para rankings putting them top. I also get the error if I look at the para rankings for multi class.

OP posts:
itsgettingweird · 09/12/2024 18:28

So it does!!! It's all those who swam at nats this weekend. Ds time was on there after para nats.

There is also now a red box at top of page saying there's technical issues - yeah I'd say there is 🫣😂

Glittertwins · 09/12/2024 18:51

Just seen that too

Hello,
Can anyone with a short sighted swimmer recommend a company that can do good quality prescription racing goggles? Thanks!

Glittertwins · 12/12/2024 10:47

I can ask later on but speaking as a short sighted swimmer myself, it's not worth the bother. I also found that the water acted as a magnifier so I could see quite well (bar fogging) under the water.
They're in the water a minimal amount of time and even on a distance events, they'll fog up so there is little benefit.

DH says swans are the ones he wears. I’m not sure he actually races in them though he wears them for training so he can read the sets.

Eccle80 · 12/12/2024 12:51

I was recommended Swans for mine too, we did look at them but he wasn’t sure so he still just uses normal goggles.

Teateaandmoretea · 12/12/2024 13:02

DH seems to quite like his. They came in handy a couple of weeks ago for the drive home when he broke his glasses in the changing room too 🤣

Bobje · 12/12/2024 13:13

Thanks all!
Am at work but will look into these tonight.

😂😂😂

It was at least dark

Hellocatshome · 13/12/2024 20:41

Some parents at our club seem to like Goggleyed but I don't have any direct experience as DS is lucky not to need prescription goggles
