My view this week - i think it's one of the best pools in the world.

Amazing atmosphere and so many world records.

It's been an incredible meet, was your swimmer swimming? I've really enjoyed watching it despite many big names not swimming. Gretchen Walsh and Jordan Crooks are our standout winners.

Oh wow - what an experience watching there.

I've never watched a competition in another country (well Wales but it's still the UK!)

Just watched finals this evening. The Hungarians know how to put on a show in swim meets.

Atmosphere was electric, lights, music, fast pool.

@Glittertwins - yes, mine was swimming (heats today, no finals) but big PB so happy all round.

Glittertwins · 15/12/2024 22:27

Brilliant news for them. I've watched most of it now on the app.

Awww well done to your swimmer. What an experience!

What app can we watch it on?

Porseb · 16/12/2024 04:46

Eurovision Sport

Glittertwins · 16/12/2024 06:38

That was a tough heat! I did actually see that one live before I went out yesterday morning

This was definitely a fast SC Worlds - just amazing watching all the world records go and the crowd going mad for Hubert Kos.

Glittertwins · 16/12/2024 11:20

I suspect Gretchen Walsh made more money per hour racing than Elon Musk does (ignoring her training obviously!)

OP posts:
Porseb · 16/12/2024 16:14

Definitely a profitable meet for her!

itsgettingweird · 17/12/2024 07:27

Was it 6 WR I'm the end? Shock

Glittertwins · 17/12/2024 08:15

Gretchen broke 9 WRs, amazing swimming

Anyone else a bit ConfusedHmm you can buy tickets for Aquatics GB champs in April now but there's no conditions or qualifying times available!

Glittertwins · 19/12/2024 20:18

We've been talking about that tonight, totally stupid!

Conditions and times now online. Very close to qualifying in 3 events. I know it's LC only and the times must be done LC but at least the SC conversions put them in reach (turns aren't the best which is a disadvantage for SC racing!)

itsgettingweird · 20/12/2024 17:29

I've had a Quick Look at conditions. (Paras do points not time)

Ds has qualified 3 events and close in a 4th. Waaaayyyyyyyy off in the others 😂

Although I've found them quite hard to understand to I'm hoping my translation of them means he's qualified those! He does the other one in counties in feb so dependent on how well (or not!) he swims it will determine his entry.

That's great he's got 3 conversions because his LC season was very much dogged by exams and he's had a great start. So 🤞 he can convert them. Can't remember if conversions could be used before?

itsgettingweird · 20/12/2024 17:30

Turns are why my ds has quicker times in LC than short! But that's probably pretty standard for someone with no leg muscle power to push or kick?!

rainyboo · 20/12/2024 17:34

Son has his trial for the next squad up tonight - fingers crossed it goes well!

Just bought tickets for the Aquatics GB champs - very excited to go but also Confused that the times came out after the tickets went on sale!!

Porseb · 20/12/2024 19:00

The British Champs tickets are quite pricey for heats and finals.

I think the heats tickets at Worlds in Budapest were about £5 and finals £25 (would have been £10 but bought them late)

itsgettingweird · 20/12/2024 20:25

I'm thinking of just booking finals for the 3 events ds has qualifying times for.

We are only there for a short period for heats and he'll want to watch finals if he's not in them and I enjoy them watching too!

The irony being if I brought (needed to buy!) ds a ticket it would be cheaper because I'd get him a discounted disability ticket and I'd get a free companion ticket 😂

Porseb · 21/12/2024 01:15

I think if he has a competitor pass, you shouldn't need to buy a spectator ticket for him. (Don't forget you've already paid event entry fees!)

Glittertwins · 21/12/2024 05:40

I think this is right as well, the competitors pass will let him in. It was definitely the case for SC nationals, we wandered in whenever we wanted.

I know. That's why it made me laugh. Even if he's not racing he has poolside pass - but he's cheaper to admit!!!!

rainyboo · 22/12/2024 14:00

DS got into the squad! Yay

Anyone done a Mount Kelly (or other) swim camp? Looking for one for DS for Easter or Summer - like the look of MK but haven't ever done one so not really sure what we're looking for plus the only threads I can find on here say MK is terrible!

Any help appreciated
