Hi
I thought I would start a new thread as the other one must be nearly full and I might have lots of questions as it is our first time!
My DD is in the U10s for 2018 and hopefully also in South Easterlies. I told my parents about her getting a place and they would like to come to her concert if possible (I understand that this is 11am on 19 August at Port Regis school) or have volunteered to look after my younger children instead if needed. Given my parents get booked up months in advance (they have a very active social life!) and Port Regis isn’t particularly near where we live so we might end up booking accommodation, then I wondered if anyone could let me know how this works:

  • do we get a limited number of tickets? I assume there must be some kind of limit.
  • would the concert be suitable for children (my younger DC will be 7 and 5 by then)?
Thanks very much.

Just received the hoody yesterday! DS2 has done with it to school (mufty today), hope it comes back home clean(ish) :)

GI2015 · 29/03/2018 10:34

sorry *gone

bassclef · 29/03/2018 12:04

Threeandus - the name on the hoodie is on the front upper right, so front right shoulder if you see what I mean!

Siriusmuggle · 01/04/2018 10:50

Boy delivered to Sherborne yesterday. Don’t imagine I’ll hesr from him now.

stringchild · 01/04/2018 13:10

Port regis for us today. Hope everyone has good Easter courses, whether NCO or other ones

Trumpetboysmum · 01/04/2018 13:29

Hope your dd enjoys port Regis looking forward to going on our holiday to Dorset next week Smile

stringchild · 05/04/2018 10:54

Hi for anyone wanting to see what the courses look like, there are loads of great pictures of Main and U12s on instagram and Twitter this year (seem to be putting much less on Facebook). Looks like everyone is having fun!

ThreeAndUs · 08/04/2018 20:51

Thank you bassclef

TrumpetVoluntary · 18/04/2018 17:06

Hope all of the older NCO DC had fun on their Easter holiday courses.
I just got an email from NCO about South Easterlies - still no dates for after this weekend’s rehearsal and no sign of ET on the list of pieces any more which is a shame - we watched the film especially (!) and DD was excited about playing it. But at least the Sound of Music is still on there!

TrumpetVoluntary read email earlier also. Have you received hoodie yet? See you Sunday!

ThreeAndUs · 18/04/2018 22:41

Just realised you've already got hoodie! Ours should arrive by end of next week!

TrumpetVoluntary · 19/04/2018 09:13

Shame your hoodie won’t be there for Sunday but I assume it will be there for the next rehearsal assuming they sort out some dates! See you Sunday.

We have still only had one NCO!!

TrumpetVoluntary · 19/04/2018 12:56

Yes, I remember yours being cancelled with the snow, Waffle. But presumably you are due an April one soon?

OP posts:
Wafflenose · 19/04/2018 13:42

Not until the 29th!

TrumpetVoluntary · 22/04/2018 18:17

For anyone else in Southeasterlies, Julia said the next rehearsal was probably 13 May at Wellington College - they hope to confirm this week. Other dates still to be confirmed but there will be another in June or beginning of July and then a break for the summer holidays.

Thanks TrumpetVoluntary Smile

Radiodependent · 22/04/2018 19:13

Thanks, gosh Wellington is quite a long drive for us. I met lots of nice people today but no idea if any of them were you guys!

ThreeAndUs · 22/04/2018 19:41

DH and I went for a coffee and cake and a little walk then came back to hear the second half, my DS is a trumpeter...I spoke to a few of people, one being TrumpetVoluntary. Smile

ThreeAndUs · 22/04/2018 19:42

Radio what does your DC play? Yes Wellington will be further for us than Ashtead!

Radiodependent · 22/04/2018 20:40

He plays bass, he was on the far side next to the tubas and I had a red coffee cup!

TrumpetVoluntary · 22/04/2018 21:08

We need to wear red carnations in our buttonholes - or maybe do something slightly simpler :-) to recognise each other...

I wondered if any of you were at southeasterlies today! There were a lot of absentees. It would be funny if I chatted to any of you. I had a smallish spotty lap top ruck sack with me, as I forlornly hoped to do some work. DS was wearing stripy shorts, and playing in the firsts.

The people I met were really nice and welcoming, and I knew a few slightly from other music things.

All the trumpets were very good. three is yours the little boy? He was doing amazingly, playing such an exposed part so well!

ThreeAndUs · 22/04/2018 23:18

Radio, I'm wondering if I chatted to you?!

Taggie, thank you! Missed the first half as went for coffee and cakes with DH so only caught the Bizet (which was new?!). Smile

Radiodependent · 23/04/2018 07:28

Three I think we did chat, how funny!
