April- we’re still trying for consistency with our yoga practice. Flow is still here, we’re just doing the best we can!

Are you doing a specific thing on YouTube, or just any yoga?

calamariqueen · 30/03/2026 15:14

I need in on this. Have just been diagnosed with an L4/L5 disc bulge in the mess that is my spine. Yoga has always helped me psychologically as well as physically but I lost a bit of love for it due to having so much weakness in my left leg/foot. I’m probably not up for following a program, but some accountability for stretching & strength building would definitely be good for me.

Yogachick · 30/03/2026 18:43

@NoCommentingFromNowOn personally I’m finishing Yoga with Adriene Flow, some are starting it. I find yoga brings the most benefit when I practice consistently, this thread is to help me( and others) be consistent. Can be used to be consistent with whatever you want though!
@calamariqueen I have a slipped disc somewhere near the base of my spine, to my shame can’t remember where. I’ve noticed significant weakness on the dodgy side, my balance is worse ,etc, still can’t feel my foot properly in that side, is partially numb. I use a LOT of support to help my weaker side. Come to the consistency party, whatever you want to be consistent with 🌻

@Yogachick Flow - A 30 Day Yoga Journey?

I’ve found it on YouTube, so I’ll do one session every day try to do one session every day starting Wednesday.

She has lots of courses, all named this or that. Does it matter which ones you do? Or to do the 30 day flow then move onto any random ones is okay? There’s no specific order?

calamariqueen · 30/03/2026 19:46

Thank you @Yogachick it’s very easy to assume that everyone on these types of threads are the perfect bodied yoga bunnies so I really appreciate you sharing your story! Yes numb/weak left foot for me too makes me very wobbly, and struggling with perfection over practice is always a challenge in my head. I need to change those words around and write them down! PRACTICE OVER PERFECTION!

Yogachick · 30/03/2026 20:00

@calamariqueen sooooooo far from a perfect bodied yoga bunny here! But I want a functional, strong flexible body as I head into my sixth decade,a body I can live in without pain. I’m trying to give it my best shot 🤩

Trickedbyadoughnut · 31/03/2026 09:27

Hello, I'll jump on board for this too if that's alright 😄

I always did the 30 day YWA journeys in January when they were live but have fallen off the regular yoga wagon a bit since.

I have a perfect storm of house move (and related building work), job uncertainty and mono flare ... I can't do any other exercise right now and obviously doc's advice is to destress 😅I have EDS, so not doing any exercise is bad cause my joints are more likely to come out when doing no exercise, so I am hoping a bit of regular yoga will be doable without overdoing it!

Yogachick · 31/03/2026 12:06

Welcome @Trickedbyadoughnut ! This is a gentle space so I hope you enjoy whatever you’re able to do & check in here for support🌻

Thechateau · 31/03/2026 13:25

I'd love to join you! I'm starting from nowhere, so five mins a day will be a win for me and I know it will make a difference

Yogachick · 31/03/2026 22:55

@NoCommentingFromNowOn it’s the Flow 30 day series on YouTube, specifically called Flow, mainly because we’re trying for consistency and all the practices are less than 20 mins, though of course if you want to do something different you’re still welcome to use this space for consistency.🌻
@Thechateau just do what you can, starting out don’t be afraid to modify( we can try & help if you’re not sure how to) or rest in child’s pose for however long you need to, even if it’s most of the practice. The yoga journey has to work for you, your life, your body. We’re here to support your journey 🌻

Hello everyone!
I like the accountability of being on the thread. And the support it’s a lovely thread.

im going to start from the beginning of Flow again

here’s the link to get the daily email reminders.

do.yogawithadriene.com/flow

I adapt a lot as some poses I just cannot do. I swap downward dog for puppy or child.

Drag my leg into position, not the smooth move Adrienne shows.

oh and cobra? Nu huh! So I reverse it and lower from
cobra.

even so I feel better. Calmer. Sleeping better. And bit by bit getting stronger.

Yogachick · 01/04/2026 14:33

Well in an annoying start to the month my back has gone, triggering a fibro flare so am confined to bed. I’m here in spirit to support, an excellent start with @Pinkfluffypencilcase leading with modification examples which can be super helpful for those starting out & feeling intimidated. Take the modifications! Ignoring today’s efforts by me, I’ve got far more from my practice by modifying than I ever did pushing myself into the ‘right’ pose. The same with pace, I think there’s an option to adjust play speed on YT, so if it’s too fast, slow it down. This is your practice to benefit your body 🌻

OP posts:
Pinkfluffypencilcase · 01/04/2026 15:22

Ahh I hope you’re ok @Yogachick xx how long do the fibro flares last?

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 01/04/2026 16:32

Day 1 flow.
hard actually sitting cross legged I found.

Yogachick · 01/04/2026 19:52

How longs a piece of string @Pinkfluffypencilcase 😞if you struggle with x legged do you sit on a cushion or block to give yourself more space? Or just sit on your heels, perhaps on a cushion, if that’s more accessible?

OP posts:
Midlifeshenanigans · 01/04/2026 21:14

Day one done though found it hard. I always use a block for sitting @Pinkfluffypencilcase as my hips are too tight to still cross legged without. Hope you feel better soon @Yogachick - Fibro is the worst

calamariqueen · 01/04/2026 21:30

Well I have done my physio exercises and after waking up 8 times last night staying awake has been enough of a challenge 😂 but I have moved, and that’s the consistency I want to build on.

Yogachick · 02/04/2026 08:38

Well done @Midlifeshenanigans ,day 1 in the bag! @calamariqueen great work, physio needs consistency, doing anything when exhausted adds anew level of challenge🌻

OP posts:
calamariqueen · 02/04/2026 09:37

Yep. I am feeling more refreshed today. How is everyone else feeling today? @Yogachick how is the fibro flare up showing up in your body? Hope you are not suffering too much xx

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 02/04/2026 13:01

Day 2

had a blanket folded handy to start. Thanks for the tip @Midlifeshenanigans

Much more comfortable than yesterday. Still a bit of twinge in my right hip but think that’s my sciatica

I did say I am strong then swiftly thought I am weak!

Hello, I'm signing in to join you all. I recognise @Yogachick from when I last did yoga, I think it was 3 years ago with Centre, I did two months of it. I then fell and hurt my wrist and can only now put my weight on it.

@Yogachick I hope you are ok and that your flare doesn't last too long.

Earlier today I started on day 2, loved it and then did day 1. I probably look ridiculous, and I'm the opposite of being long limbed like Adriene, but I really enjoyed being back on the mat. I modify where needed, including child's pose, as I cannot put my left arm outstretched in front, it's really painful between the bicep and tricep and I have no idea why - it wasn't even that arm that I fell on. I also cannot get into poses quickly or elegantly. But I'm doing what I can.

I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel by the end of the month as when I did Centre, I felt like a different person.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 02/04/2026 23:41

Welcome @YogaFlow

more the merrier.

Agree I’m the opposite to Adrienne’s long lean yoga bod. And I try not to catch myself in the mirror during! But I know i feel better.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 03/04/2026 13:53

Day 3 in the bag

Hope you’re doing ok @Yogachick

YogaFlow · 03/04/2026 18:19

Thanks for the welcome @Pinkfluffypencilcase I hope you’re ok @Yogachick

That’s day 3 complete, the firearm plank was a killer. I have very little strength, and was so thankful when she counted down.

I’d love to be able to step through from dd to lunge. One day, one day.
