April yoga consistency

April- we’re still trying for consistency with our yoga practice. Flow is still here, we’re just doing the best we can!

Day 6 of Center, 19 mins "Fan" - all abs and it was hard, and I am aching😂a good ache though. I feel really unfit now, whereas the abs section of Flow didn't really register. This one was the real deal for sure.

It will be interesting to see if I find it so tricky the next time I do this day 😆

Day 8 of Center, 30 mins "Melt" The most perfect practice for a Friday evening after a very busy week at work - wearing cozy clothes, using pillows and a blanket. 100% relaxation, absolute bliss!

I googled lizard, I quite like it, but not after lots of painful poses.

Yesterday was crazy busy so I only did a 10 minute bedtime routine and then had a great sleep. I’ll do todays practice later.

Thank you. It’s still flaring a bit so I missed out the middle of day 21 flow. Did try gate ? Pose but it was ouch!

Today Centre Day 11 Rinse 23 minutes

All 3 days were nice practices.

So I'm on a streak of 41 days, it feels much longer 😆and although I am being consistent, I know I could easily miss a day, ease off and stop altogether (again), and posting updates keeps me feeling accountable.

@Pinkfluffypencilcase I am feeling the benefit, thank you. I still stiff every morning, but it eases faster than pre-yoga. I don't think I've improved with the actual yoga proses though, but I realise I've only been practicing for a very short amount of time, this time round.

Yesterday, Centre Day 12 Unwind 21 minutes - a tricky pose, on hands and knees, turn hands outwards, until your fingers point to your knees 😰not a chance, the maximum I could turn them was slightly over 90 degrees, Adriene had hers the full 180 degrees. Incredible.

Today Centre Day 13 Trust 21 minutes - my ankles really felt all my weight with the one leg poses today, I need to loose some weight.

Apart from a few yoga stretches iv had to miss a few days still due to this pain. I may have to seek medical help!

when I do yoga consistently i definitely do feel the benefit and miss the improvement when I stop. I also think im calmer after yoga.

Think that’s important to acknowledge that it’s been a short while. It’s something I should do and be more patient with progress.

Oh @Pinkfluffypencilcase I'm so sorry to hear that you're still in pain 💐. It may be worth getting checked out as they may give you some targeted exercises.

I'm also calmer with yoga. I find it incredible that roughly 20 minutes a day can have such an impact.

So sorry for the spelling mistakes and the missing words in my previous posts.

I'm still going, but had a really busy few days.

Saturday Day 15 Reset 21 minutes
Sunday Day 16 Kind 19 minutes
Today Day 17 Move 22 minutes - Eagle arms is impossible 😁

Yes I find that 20 mins or so has a huge impact on the rest of the day. Even my dd’s noticed I was calmer.

im hoping to get into the docs today as I can’t even put a bra on atm!

you are on a proper yoga run! Is the 47 the number of days?

I’ve been given a pain relief gel which they have to
order in so hopefully later in week back to it properly

Just speaking to my mum and she says she can get up off the floor no hands! She does a bit of yoga and is in her 80s. Goals!

This is the reason I am doing this. I am really worried about mobility as I age. 5 years ago I had an operation on my arm and lost mobility, strength and reach. 3 years ago I fell over twice within a couple of months and I could hardly use my arm, I lost all strength and mobility and it's taken 3 years to bear weight on my wrist. It really scared me that this could be my future, which terrifies me. I'm 53, very very inflexible and I get up groaning and creaking like I'm 90! I'd love where I am now to be my baseline to slowly improve over the coming months and years and then, as I age and my mobility decreases it goes back to where it is now. Ha!

Yes, that's my streak, there's an exercise thread on here and they're in the hundreds, which is very inspiring.

Yes I agree re mobility. I’ve been shocked at how quickly I lost conditioning when I was out of action after being in hospital and subsequent recovery. I lost all core strength. And I also groan when getting up. I can tell some core strength is coming back as I get up off the chair in one movement. And I marvel at how I can do that 😂
I’m a little older than you and kicking myself I didn’t start sooner.

Day 22 truth from flow

Nice! 19 mins with first couple minutes breathing and noticing.

Lots of tree which suited me and only issue was shoulder collapsing in plank so missed that out.

But all in all felt good and great to do again!

Last week was really busy, and then I caught sinusitis on Friday, so I'm not following Center. I am still going though, and my streak is 55 days. The last few days were very half hearted easy practices, as the pain was too much and the heat is unbearable.

(52) Saturday Center Day 8, again Melt 30 mins
(53) Sunday YWA when you're sick 20 mins

I'll carry on with easy practice while I fully recover and while it's so hot.

Thankfully it was cooler today, I completed Center Day 23, Soar, 17 minutes, just lovely!

Yoga streak 57 and I have a new streak to add, day 1 of eating mindfully. I must improve my overall health.

Day 25 flow

skipped a little towards the end..

I also checked how long I was into it and was aghast id only done 4 mins.

Carried on lots of different poses in this one.
