Shapes NEARLY KILLED ME. I had no idea it would be so much more difficult than LM Pilates. I tried it ages ago and thought it felt quite fun and easy, but that was to do with the fact my body was so injured I had to sit out the exercises! Going to try to go back on Sat - tomorrow is dance class with a friend.

3X8 overhead presses with the only dumbbell that I have at home, one arm at a time - 3.4 kg.

It's a start.

Happleandhorange · 02/01/2026 01:23

Back with Pilates today, which felt absurdly easy in comparison to Shapes.
I did a 10 minute runwalk last night as well. It did trigger asthma but only at the very end.

No 2.

Still going - another month where I have exercised every day - woo hoo! Keep on trucking everyone ….

Placestogo · 02/01/2026 13:21

Went to pilate this morning, it was intense.

i cant decide whether to join a gym (3 friends go there and i can do a variety of exercises + sauna/pool) or to get an unlimited monthly pass to the yoga studio (cheaper than gym, only yoga and pilate but various style, no pool/spa).
it should be an easy decision (gym) but i love yoga and pilate so much, it is hard to let go….

Nearly two miles of walking! Very pleased with that. It wasn’t quick or pretty and I’m reliant on my walking poles, but hurrah.

First Crossfits back today, after a 2 weeks break. We were going for high reps on pullups with the aid of bands. I ended up using three and could have added another. I didn't feel very strong, but meh.

Then it was a typical ludicrous Crossfits workout. 10 reps deadlift then 5 overhead press. Ten times! I went with a very light bar and was pleased enough to get to the end.

Overall score : Meh/10 but it got done!

Alittlefrustrated · 02/01/2026 18:28

3.7 mile walk
1/300 !
Go you FurForksSake !
Inspiring Comtesse!

I’m annoyed that I couldn’t get any exercise in yesterday. But 60 x 25m swim today and I will get in multiple workouts pretty soon. Back at work today too :(

Another walk, a very slow and painful 2 miles in the woods. But it was glorious in the snow with the sunshine and peace.

A short lower body session today - looking forward to getting back to a routine in the coming weeks.

That’s a win @FurForksSake!

WearyAuldWumman · 03/01/2026 22:06

Only 3 sets of triceps exercises with single weight that I have at home.

Happleandhorange · 04/01/2026 05:23

Gym this afternoon. Ten minutes of yoga class before I realised there was too much being upside down for me (it makes me sick), followed by a very happy runwalk on treadmill for 40 minutes. No asthma difficulties at all, so I think the hot humid outdoor air at the, moment is my trigger.

Happleandhorange · 04/01/2026 05:35

I came home and jumped in pool.

FurForksSake · 04/01/2026 18:16

I’ve done my physio exercises and some Pilates and stretching. No walk today.

Happleandhorange · 05/01/2026 01:40

Physio exercises are always a win.

Bodybalance today with friend. Which was basically yoga in disguise. But I am trying to be open-minded. :-) I went on elliptical afterwards for 20 minutes.

WearyAuldWumman · 05/01/2026 18:57

4 min fast walking on treadmill.

Ditto, triceps pulls.

3X8 one-armed dumbbell bench row - 5kg.

ETA 45 minute Pilates class.

FurForksSake · 05/01/2026 19:01

Hydrotherapy today; she worked me hard!

Hello all. I’m struggling with the weather and some shitty events that will get worse this year. I’m not here for sympathy but simply to stay on this thread and know I am ok!

I walked 1.5 miles yesterday. And parts of it were pretty good!

55 mins pilates class - rigor mortis appears to have set in during the holidays 😅Quite embarrassing 😅
Things ca only get better. Nice walk planned with friend tomorrow.

Early morning Shapes class. I took it easy and it was a good decision, made it to end without collapsing and then had energy for weights.

Would you be able to give info about what a Shapes class involves? They offer it at my local leisure centre, but the online description isn't telling me very much.

Happleandhorange · 05/01/2026 23:33

If it's a Les Mills Shapes class, it's a mixture of Pilates, Barre and power yoga: but with hand weights, leg bands and sliders.
