Had to skip Stretch yesterday. Heading to Senior Flex and Active for Health today.

Alittlefrustrated · 03/12/2025 21:32

1 hr pilates class
90 mins qigong class
211.

stilldumdedumming · 04/12/2025 07:29

Had a great few days.
Tuesday was hard core core, super hard Pilates with emphasis on pelvic floor. Then 90 mins yoga with lots of pelvic floor too!

Yesterday was an ace swim. 2 of us in the lane at even pace. Had to be quick to get back to work but managed a speedy 60 x 25m

was due to swim today but my daughter needs me. She is having a bad time at the hands of our women’s health care.

Alittlefrustrated · 04/12/2025 22:49

40 x25m swim
212.

WearyAuldWumman · 04/12/2025 23:27

Had a haircut today...no gym, but did a lot of walking in Edinburgh.

Happleandhorange · 05/12/2025 06:15

IKEA today. It was immensely exciting to be in one again after fifteen years!
Went today to try the restaurant and avoid crowds at weekend. 8000 steps.

BezMills · 05/12/2025 09:40

Crossfits first thing this morning. Jumping over things, which I enjoyed.

Then what was quite an intimidating workout on the whiteboard. 30s this, 30s that and 30s the other, then 30s rest. TEN TIMES. I forgot my inhaler so was careful not to redline m breathing and overall it flew in and I felt pretty good about it. Forgot to have a play on the bars, but I'll do some work at home.

stilldumdedumming · 05/12/2025 20:00

epic ikea steps! I managed to sneak in an upper body workout last night and a group lower body this morning. Very slightly upping the weights. Still pretty weedy but it’s progress!

FurForksSake · 05/12/2025 20:04

Physio exercises and 3500 steps on crutches and upper body weights with a weight that’s a bit too heavy.

Alittlefrustrated · 05/12/2025 20:09

4.5 mile walk
213.

Happleandhorange · 06/12/2025 05:02

Last night and this morning I tried my new massage gun (Black Friday splurge).

It was great. It really helped with hip and shoulder pain. HOWEVER it also sends me to sleep so it may need to be an evening treat rather than a morning one.

Comtesse · 06/12/2025 10:50

I’ve gone up to 30 mins exercise a day for the last 2 weeks - might try to keep that going through to Christmas now. Am enjoying the addition of isometric exercises - that seems to be really making a difference some how.

But also I set myself a mini challenge of 10k steps a day as well (normally about 7-8k) and that has been deeply irritating because I then didn’t cycle as much and it felt like pressure. I much prefer a weekly target of 70k because then I can be more relaxed about day to day eather than pacing up and down the flat at 11.30pm to get my steps in.

WearyAuldWumman · 06/12/2025 16:39

45 minute Pilates class this morning. Sore in bits, but enjoyable. There's a cover instructor next week, but but the instructor will be back to take the class during the Christmas/New Year period. Huzzah!

Happleandhorange · 07/12/2025 09:08

15 000 steps today and lots of lifting (at a political protest, then putting up most of a swimming pool).
Definitely counting that as a workout. Going to use my theragun now.

Happleandhorange · 07/12/2025 09:13

I forgot my inhaler at protest, @BezMills . Feel your pain. @Comtesse I think the weekly target makes a lot of sense.

Placestogo · 07/12/2025 20:37

Hot yoga - was yin yoga and gong bath. I was really looking fw to it but two people kept snoring very loudly and it kinda ruin the class…

stilldumdedumming · 07/12/2025 22:06

Yesterday was a short Pilates at home. And today was a quad and core weights session. And then yin yoga. I’ve never done yin before. It was a bit awkward at the time but afterwards my nervous system was very soothed. Interesting!

Placestogo · 08/12/2025 07:37

@stilldumdedumming i do yin yoga when im not feeling like exercising. I did my back on tursday and didnt want to risk it with a stronger yoga type

BezMills · 08/12/2025 10:24

On Friday I turned up to provide brute force and ignorance assistance to setting up the PTA christmas fair at school. It was actually pretty fun, lifting things around and so on. Was very glad of all the crossfits I'd done in the last 4 months!

Didn't get any specific exercise done at the weekend at all.

This morning Crossfit again. Had to take a diversion on the way, which was super stressy. I hate being late for stuff and I had to go up some roads less travelled, in the dark, to get around a blockage on the road I usually take.

We did deadlift today, another PR today, this time for 3 reps. Then we had the stupidest workout for after heavy deadlifts, honestly. Holding up a sandbag for a minute, then a minute of burpee and shuttle runs, then minute rest. I felt great doing it, but could feel my back very much did not appreciate all the athleticism and throwing myself up and down after it was already good and tired from lifting.

I'm kind of surfing the wave of some major low back pain now. There's nothing much wrong, just a bit twingy and it could go either way. I'm hoping that keeping mobile and slathering on some of the CBD bar will avoid a complete shut down!

WearyAuldWumman · 08/12/2025 18:09

Had my Monday Pilates session. Thoroughly enjoyable, but...oh, my abdominals now!

Unusually, there were places available for the 7pm BodyBalance class. Had wanted to try it out, but I don't think I'd be fit for it. Maybe once my core is a bit stronger?

There's no doubt that the Pilates is making a difference to my abdominals. TMI coming up...

.......Turn back before it's too late for the TMI.....

Before I started the Dead Bugs in my Active Class and the Pilates, my 'orrible stomach was a perfect sphere - think the villains in the old Sharpe series with their bloated bellies.

My boobs are now bigger than my belly, even when I'm braless (and in spite of the fact that my boobs have definitely decreased in size) and I now have a long dent on either side. I'm assuming that's because my muscles are now engaging, but I'm still a couple of stone overweight? I'm 10 pounds lighter than I was this time last year, but a significant chunk of that has come off my boobs and some off my legs. I've certainly lost some of the fat off my back since I started exercising two years ago. (Was originally 16st 4 lbs. I'm 5ft 9, so considered a giant in Fife.)

As I've said before, the absolute joy for me is the fact that I can now get off the mat without hanging onto something and knowing that I'm much more flexible. Didn't think it possible at my age.

FurForksSake · 08/12/2025 19:09

I’ve done my physio exercises, some upper body weights and a hydro session. I haven’t been on my exercise bike yet, I might need to try that before bed!

Sorry! Too graphic! 😂

PS It's not the boobs that have the dent.

Happleandhorange · 09/12/2025 03:59

Yesterday neurophysio. Today massive effort finishing putting up the pool for summer. Absolutely definitely a workout. I nearly died. But going to be good and not count it, because want to motivate myself back to gym tomorrow.

Neurophysio shocked (in a good way) by how much my neck has improved in just a week of using theragun on my shoulder. It was nice to feel I wasn't imagining it!

Happleandhorange · 09/12/2025 04:00

Half full pool. It has two hoses running and is still taking forever!

Keeping on exercising
