30 Day Shred

TheBang · 21/06/2025 10:53

Anyone want to join me?
Yes I know it’s an oldie but I did it about 15 years ago and it was really effective.
I’ve just done day one and the weights and abs stuff weren’t too bad but the cardio nearly killed me, I’m more unfit than I realised.

Damn, now I want to dig out my DVD!
“This is where it hurts the most…”

PreetyinPurple · 24/06/2025 17:17

I did a 10 minute introductory fitness blender workout today, I’m not ready for shred for sure!

sociallydistained · 24/06/2025 21:02

Did day 2 but level 2. Definitely harder 😅 will try again tomorrow although I'm dreading it lol. The music is so bad 😂

Careerdecisions · 25/06/2025 10:11

That level 1, day 3 completed. Muscles not as sore as yesterday but could still feel them. I’ve got a meeting clash with my usual routine tomorrow so will plan for that today so I don’t end up telling myself ‘I’ll do it later’ and then it not happening! How are the rest of you getting on?

TheHorrorsPersist · 25/06/2025 10:46

Have done a tester day 1 but plan to do the 30 days over the summer holidays so starting properly on Monday and going to do 5 a week for 6 weeks.

sociallydistained · 25/06/2025 11:02

How many times a week does she say to do it? Not sure if I missed the intro whilst faffing about?

I will probably only do it 3-4 times a week anyway as I do a bodypump and bodycombat class a week sometimes Tone. But I do all of that at the weekend and I've been wanting to do something in the week so for now this is it. I will do my third in a row tonight!

Disturbia81 · 25/06/2025 19:09

I just wanna put a reminder here to not get upset if the scales don’t go down, mine infact always go up when I’m working out due to water retention from muscle repair.
Finish the 30 days, or however long you do, and once a few days have passed your body will woosh all the water out and you’ll see the results of your hard work! I always get a shock as I look puffy when working out and then suddenly I’m 10lbs lighter 🤣 Stick with it ♥️

Careerdecisions · 26/06/2025 12:58

That’s day 4 of level 1 done. I felt it went by quicker today, hoping that’s an early sign of fitness improving. That last strength exercise with the side lunge and raising arms with weights to eye height is my nemesis though. Whatever muscle it’s working in my arms seems to be missing from my anatomy!

REDB99 · 26/06/2025 15:04

I’ve managed level 1 on 3/5 days so far. I had two 12 hour days so impossible to fit it in on those days. I’ve got time to do it Fri - Tues so going to do level 1 five more times then move into level 2. I’ve been eating lower carb and higher protein too.

TheHorrorsPersist · 26/06/2025 16:33

I’ve done 2 days of level 1 and I’m walking like the Tinman 😂

TheBang · 26/06/2025 18:55

You’re all doing better than me! This is only the second day I’ve managed to do the whole thing😳

I did do a yoga class yesterday though and some weights exercises the day before so not completely inactive but I definitely need to try harder. The second set of press ups got me today, had to do the Anita version.

I’m on day 26 of this round and can’t believe how much my figure has changed! And so quickly. My spare tire has gone, thighs trimmed, just everything

LeanIntoChaos · 27/06/2025 09:31

I do every other day, because I run 5k on alternate days. Done 4-5 months of level 1 because I was scared of level 2. Just done third day of level 2 and I was right to be scared. All those plank jumpy things are killing me.

TheBang · 27/06/2025 10:26

Day three of doing it properly completed. The tummy jiggle is upsetting but a good reason to keep at it

Thank you. This is much needed motivation

No worries, keep at it ♥️ If I’d known how easy it was to change shape I’d have done it years ago.. I thought people had to spend hours in the gym every day and it bores me to tears. But 25 mins of my day I can spare, especially for a big pay off!

Iwillclasptheeagain · 27/06/2025 14:28

It's online here too. I have the dvd but don't know where it has got to.

A rather late entry today but level 1 day 5 completed. I had a really busy day and almost convinced myself to take a rest day but decided if I could find the time I really should make the effort and pleased I did now.

I’m still rubbish with the anterior raises but I managed 5 full press ups in each round and could stretch a bit further at the end too so progress being made.

NcforMeNc · 27/06/2025 23:00

I've bought the DVD so will join you all when it arrives x

OpalescentFruit · 27/06/2025 23:21

I did this years ago and still have the DVD but it went for my knees and I had to stop. Any tips?

For me it’s decent trainers.. I did it in naff shoes the first time round and my knees were killing, I’ve not had any trouble since getting some bouncy footwear!

I didn't do Level 2, apart from once (when I discovered it's knee wrecking properties). So I did 10 days L1, 1 day L2, tried L3 then alternated that and L1 until the 30 days were up. Not strictly correct, but worked for me (and my knees).

Careerdecisions · 28/06/2025 15:15

Level 1 Day 6 done, still finding it very tough but pushing myself a little more each time. I managed 7 full push ups on each repetition today. Looking forward to moving onto level 2 next week once I’ve completed day 10.

NormaMajors1992coat · 28/06/2025 16:00

Ooh I remember the agony of this - I’m going to see if I can find my DVD and start week after next when I’m back from being away. I remember it making a difference to my waist in particular.

Disturbia81 · 29/06/2025 15:55

27/30 done, I’m so puffy from the water retention/muscle repair so I can’t wait to finish and let it all woosh off!
