Anyone want to join me?
Yes I know it’s an oldie but I did it about 15 years ago and it was really effective.
I’ve just done day one and the weights and abs stuff weren’t too bad but the cardio nearly killed me, I’m more unfit than I realised.

Level 2 Day 2 was great fun because my 11 year old decided to do it with me. He is super fit from playing football but rather comfortingly found many bits a challenge both with coordination and strength. He also insisted using the heaviest weights so I took the lighter ones which was much easier! Both of us pouring with sweat by the end. He’s declared he’ll never eat sugar again as he’s decided it would be easier without it, he may have a point but I’m not yet prepared to give everything up!

I had two cats watching very intently with a look of distain. I hope they don’t decide to join in 😀

I hope they do. 😅

Gummylump · 06/07/2025 10:54

My workout partners were slacking today - kept getting distracted by their lego and paw patrol on TV. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Day 5 done for me though. 💪

Buntyforgirls · 06/07/2025 11:16

Completed my 3 days back to back. Think it was day 7 today.
My jjs are becoming bouncier, and my arms flap more- still find them the toughest cardio. Can manage jump rope. Butt kicks are quite sedate though!
Have also increased weight for biceps and chest fly. Pleased with my form for rows.
Doing 10 mins of yoga with Kassandra after to help with stretching.
That is my day 7 summary!
How are you all doing, and how is level 2 @Careerdecisions ??
Enjoy the day!

Saggyoldclothbody · 06/07/2025 12:44

L1D4 completed (minus cat intervention thankfully @Gummylump😀)

I find Jumping Jacks most difficult too Bunty. I checked my Fitbit afterwards could see that my heart rate goes into the vigorous rate for them the first cardio set but not for any of the other sets. I can only imagine that the 400lb people she says she has doing them without any modification had been training for quite some time beforehand as I’m ready to collapse at that point 🥴

Disturbia81 · 06/07/2025 12:47

2 days post finishing and decided to weigh, I weigh exactly the same as when I started but my muscles have grown/more defined and I’ve gone down a size in certain clothes, so I’m excited for the fat loss whoosh!
Face is still puffy so can tell the water is still there repairing the muscles.

FloofyBird · 06/07/2025 13:08

I've just done level 1 day 5 but it felt really hard today (well, harder than usual!). I'm on cycle day 23 and I'm interested in tracking how my workouts go/how I feel vs where I am my cycle.

Has anyone done level 1 with Anita then level 1 with Natalie before moving onto level 2, or is it not worth it and just stick with one or the other throughout?

Iwillclasptheeagain · 06/07/2025 14:01

Go exercise by exercise. Perhaps start a set with Natalie and revert to Anita when you are fatigued, depending on the exercise.

Careerdecisions · 06/07/2025 21:59

A rather late but done level 2 day 3, let my son off as he played football for two hours earlier so I had access to the heavier weights again (which are not all that heavy). Managed it all and I have concluded that it doesn’t get any easier but you do adapt to feeling exhausted and uncomfortable instead. Quite enjoying level 2 though, the twists and skaters are my favourites.

CortadoPlease · 07/07/2025 12:59

Me (and my neck!) are late to this party. But day 1 done! I also did this about 15 years ago and it made me laugh all the way through hearing the Jillianisms again. Looking forward to you all motivating me as you finish your 30 days 🤩

Gummylump · 07/07/2025 16:12

Need to get on with day 6 in a min. It's the first day I'm really struggling with the motivation and energy to do it! How are others finding it?

CatChant · 07/07/2025 16:20

Nitgel · 21/06/2025 13:55

Just watch your knees. I swear doing this started my knee oesteoarthritus

Yes, I think it caused mine too.

Careerdecisions · 07/07/2025 21:21

Got level 2 day 4 done earlier, watched Wimbledon at the same time to get through it. I find if I commit to doing it everyday then I find it much easier to make myself do it, that and reminding myself it is only 20 minutes.

Buntyforgirls · 08/07/2025 07:49

That is what is great about the shred- the brevity! And hopefully the results.
Rest day yesterday with 30 mins of yin yoga.
Hoping to do days 8, 9, 10 back to back ready for level 2.
Good luck all, happy shredding!

FloofyBird · 08/07/2025 13:44

If anyone early on or who hasn't started wants some motivation, I've done 5 shreds in 12 days and my results are:

waist 40.5" to 38"
hips 44.5" to 43.75
thighs 25.5 to 24.5
arms 11 to 11.75
bmi 28.3 to 27.2
fat 37 to 34.9

my weight has dropped by 7lbs but it fluctuates a lot so that may not be totally accurate.

Gummylump · 08/07/2025 17:28

Wow, that's incredible @FloofyBird well done you.👏 Imagine the results at the end of the 30 days!

I haven't lost any weight at all but can definitely see a difference in my body. Don't have a tape measure to take measurements though.

Day 7 done here. 🙂

Saggyoldclothbody · 08/07/2025 21:21

L1 D5 completed for me, and I managed to do one set of sort-of pushups (like a plank but dropping down a couple of inches, rather than doing a bigger chest movement whilst my knees were on the floor). It’s definitely feeling easier.

Sadly, my waist has not shrunk like floofybird ☹️ but there may be a little bit of definition that I can see when I’m doing the punches.

For fun (????) I put on level 2 whilst I was making dinner to see just how bad its going to be, as I didn’t remember it as being hard. Clearly I was following Anita and not Natalie 😳 😀

Saggyoldclothbody · 09/07/2025 10:16

L1 D6 completed. Doing it early in the morning before eating took it out of me. I didn’t know whether to be frustrated or relieved that the Brave browser was showing ads during the workout as it gave me a break. I do have the DVD but it’s so long since I tried to use it with our current, very confusing, TV set up that it’s easier to find it online and the Brave browser (thanks to whoever mentioned it upthread) was a godsend.

Buntyforgirls · 09/07/2025 12:30

L1 D9✓ . soooo didn't fancy it, but it is definitely more completeable than I would have believed 9 days ago, and does go by quickly. And I managed JJs!
Pilates class tonight, too.
@FloofyBird , that is fantastic, well done!
Good luck All as we move towards level 2!

Gummylump · 09/07/2025 19:45

Day 8 done for me. I'm going to do 8 days of each level to allow for a few days when I haven't got time to do it, so that's level 1 done!

Scared to start level 2, especially with this heat wave coming up. 🙈

Well done everyone. 👏

Saggyoldclothbody · 10/07/2025 16:10

L1 D7 done. I’ve upped my weights from 1.5kg to 3kg for some of the exercises and my heart rate went way up! I am the world’s best procrastinator when it comes to starting to exercise (every time - ooh look, I’ve got to put the washing on and deal with that bit of dusting!!) but I definitely feel the endorphin glow afterwards. When I win Euromillions, I’m going to have a personal trainer to make me do something every day 🏋️😀

Cattery · 10/07/2025 16:18

Just had a look at the beginning of the video. I thought that doesn’t look too bad. Then I realised that was the warm up!

Buntyforgirls · 11/07/2025 07:49

Completed 10 days of level 1, woop!
Level 2 D1 here I come...

REDB99 · 11/07/2025 13:22

I’m getting on okay, I haven’t been doing it every day and think I’m technically on day 19 but in total I’ve done level 1 and level 2 11 times (in total). I’ve also been for long walks, cycles and done some Pilates. I’m 2lbs down with an inch off the waist. I’m only 5 ft 2 and only want to lose about half a stone so find it hard to shift weight. I’ve been counting calories most days and upping protein overall as well.
2 weeks and 2 days until I go away so I’m hoping for another pound or two to shift.

Gummylump · 11/07/2025 22:47

You're similar to me as I'm 5ft and would like to lose 7-10lbs which is very hard as not overweight to begin with and it's just not happening tbh.

Level 2 day 1 today completed after work. I was then starving all evening, and have gone completely off track with food as a result. 🙈
