I have been trying on and off to lose weight for the past year but now planning to really exercise 3 times a week if I can and cut down on the sugary crap I eat. A but part of it is the habit of wanting something sweet after dinner when I don't even really want it.

Ooh I'd like to join too please!

I'm not looking to lose much, probably just the 2-3kg I put on over the summer.

But I do want to be be consistent with exercise and eating well.

HouseofHolbein · 10/09/2023 20:55

I've just put my running kit ready for tomorrow morning 👍

HiBarbiee · 10/09/2023 20:57

Oh count me in. I’ve had two carverys this week and a chippy. I’m on the road to hell and I need to get off! 😂

I was successfully losing a stone in a few months last year, enough for me to be really happy with. I’ve put it all back on, esp more recently.

i exercise loads but the diet doesn’t balance

amiboverd · 10/09/2023 21:04

Hi everyone

@HouseofHolbein Hope the new job is a good for you

I'm also planning to exercise in the morning. I have a day off and the house to myself so no excuse either really!

I've put my workout t shirt on for bed!

@GreenMarigold I really like Les Mills Body Combat on YouTube. There's a series called Invincible for those who haven't done it before but I still do the longer ones from the series.

I also like Blogilates for Pilates or toning type exercise

I'd like to join in too. I'm OK on the exercise front but have a very sweet tooth and like some kind of dessert every evening. Need to get on top of that plus snacking before dinner on nuts and Bombay mix!!

FabFitFifties · 10/09/2023 21:25

Hi, I'm in! Last few months not feeling so fab and fit - just the fifties bit 😂 Spending too much of my evenings and days off working for nothing recently. Need to rebalance again. I've kept up my pilates classes, twice a week. I need to add strength and cardio. I'll aim for 3 sessions a week, and cut out obvious sugar other than fruit. Goodluck everyone.

LylaLee · 10/09/2023 21:27

I'm just casually leaning against the wall.

If I do it, then I'll say, I planned to. If I don't, then I'll say I was just watching.

FantasticMax · 10/09/2023 21:39

I’d like to join too! Need some accountability, I weigh the most I ever have. Ideally would lose 2 stone but would target 1 stone initially, it seems less daunting.

Toytransportemergency · 10/09/2023 21:46

I usually run but have tendonitis which I just can’t shift. I’ve been walking and doing yoga. I was initially doing home workouts from YouTube but realised that praising about probably wasn’t any better than running.

happinessischocolate · 10/09/2023 23:20

I'm in

I'm still paying for Les mills but havent used it for months so tomorrow is a good time to restart.

Can I join please? when do we start?

Vgtasd · 10/09/2023 23:24

Me please! Xx

NaturalStudy · 10/09/2023 23:29

I'm in. I am post natal so being gentle with exercise and diet but I still need to get my bum in gear. I have signed up for Sharron Davies' exercise plan which is more than manageable.

DynamicK · 10/09/2023 23:37

Oh me definitely. I'm fed up of my weight. Need to lose 2 stone ideally but every pound lost is an improvement!

Fortunefavours1 · 10/09/2023 23:43

I'd like to join please. Really ashamed of how badly I've let myself go. it's mainly the eating, exercise wise i am quite active, moderate activity nothing to strenuous such as walking everywhere which is good for fitness but not for losing weight. can anyone recommend exercises for losing weight if such a thing exists?

amiboverd · 11/09/2023 00:10

@happinessischocolate I had a LMOD subscription a while back but stopped as I wasn't using it enough and now I just do Body Combat on YouTube for free when I want to. It's enough given now infrequently I do it

@justaboutslim I have a slightly protruding belly after having DC and I had some ab. I've seen some awful holiday photos of myself and want to do something about it now!!

@Notmytotoro Tomorrow?!

Room for one more?
My youngest started school last week so I finally have a bit more time for me. I’m a runner and did my most recent marathon a few weeks ago. I’m ‘running fit’ but couldn’t do a push up to save my life so I’ve just joined a gym and want to focus on my general fitness/strength for a while. Have a PT as part of my membership, but don’t have a session with her for a couple of weeks so I’m flying solo for a while.
I have about three stone to lose in total, my diet isn’t decent in terms of meals, plant based, unprocessed, sensible portions etc but my snacking is a real issue so that’s what I need to get under control alongside the exercise focus.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 11/09/2023 06:23

Yes please. I start IVF next month so want to get as healthy as I can beforehand.

TotalOverhaul · 11/09/2023 06:30

Yes plese. I've been really good about eating healthily - no snacks, no UPF for about 3 weeks. The only sugar from fruit or an occasional v low cal ice lolly on hot days. But my exercise is non existent and I used to be a fitness freak. i want to get back to HIIT, weights, body weight workouts 4 x a week plus a walk every day, and to be more active around the house and garden too.

I'm 11st 6lbs and only 5'4 so I have 30lbs to lose.

soberfabulous · 11/09/2023 06:44

yasssss!

i had my brain reprogrammed two weeks ago and i am about to enter week 3 of no sugar - so count me in!!!!!

i'm very healthy and exercise BUT i was eating chocolate like a pig at night. have knocked all that on the head now and already feel soooo much better.

HouseofHolbein · 11/09/2023 07:24

Bum. Haven't managed today. Husband ended up sleeping downstairs (he doesn't sleep well after 12 years working nights) and I didn't want to disturb him too early as we have a long drive today.

Tomorrow 100%.

WhatCameFirstTheChickenOrTheDickhead · 11/09/2023 08:05

Iffy start as I originally ignored my alarm and when I managed to kick myself up the arse 10 mins later it was too late to have time to get out for a walk, but instead of thinking fuck it and staying in bed like I usually do I got up a did a 20 minute yoga video so I've done something at least.

Also weighed myself for the first time since July and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be, still the heaviest I've ever been but have only put 6lbs on, that's a miracle the way I've been eating and drinking recently Blush.

Angelselevenx · 11/09/2023 08:21

@amiboverd I tend to do free weights at the gym and add in some cardio. I also walk the dog for an hour everyday.

Day 1 - let's do this! Planning to go to the gym for 13:30, first coffee of the day done. Absolutely knackered though although glad it's much cooler.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 11/09/2023 08:51

Was pleasantly surprised by the scales this morning but still want to shift around 3kg in the next four weeks :)

Going to return to running this week and aim for three runs. Will also try and do a decent length walk each day. Food wise the key for me is to try and reduce evening snacking. Am pretty good during the day and then DS is in bed and it all goes to pot.
