Lifted 3x10 reps of 16kg today. I know its not much in the grand scheme of things, but its a lot for me. Anyway next week will be a break from the gym because I'm off work and I need to deep clean my flat. I'll still do daily yoga or Pilates, otherwise my back will get to hurting again, but I don't think I can quite manage a heavy weight workout then coming home and doing a deep clean! Anyway that will be quite a workout in itself, and I'll probably end up doing a fair bit of my mum's house too. She lives 2 streets from me.

SophieLion · 01/10/2022 11:34

Sorry to hear about your rubbish week MotherForkin. But good you enjoyed your swim and hopefully you did sleep well. May next week be a much better week for you Smile

Because I'm clueless with gym terminology iloveeverykindofcat, when you say "lifted", do you mean like a shoulder press? Or more like a Romanian deadlift and then above the head? Sorry if these are stupid questions.
In any case, well done !! 🎉 As Caroline girvan always says "it's you against you"!! Good luck with all the cleaning!

Having a rest day today and quite enjoying it Smile

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 01/10/2022 12:24

Yoga class done this morning. It's been a rubbish week for me too: the lurgy is still hanging around and I completely lost my voice on Wednesday. It's coming back now, though I'm still croaky.

Days exercised 149.

PeloFondo · 01/10/2022 13:13

Trying to dig up motivation for the 60 min endurance spin class I need to do...

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 01/10/2022 17:41

Yes, Sophie, I think the swim did help and I managed to sleep last night. Feel like a new woman today. I did a run/walk/sniff/ squirrel! with the dog while ds was at football. I am so horribly unfit, I really need to get running properly again.

Hope you're OK soon, Professor. The two children have a cold that seems to be lingering but lfts are negative so hoping it isn't covid.

Good luck with the endurance ride, Pelo!

iloveeverykindofcat · 02/10/2022 05:57

@SophieLion Bench press. That's the lift I'm strongest at. Strongest being a relative term 😆. Anyway yesterday I did yoga and deep cleaned the kitchen, today I'll do a quick Pilates, do the bathroom and go for a walk with my friends who are avid hikers so it will be a proper walk. I live semi-rural, on the coast, so there's a lot of good places for that around here. We'll probably do a cliff path.

PeloFondo · 02/10/2022 12:41

Finally doing my 60 min ride! It's 9 min intervals Envy

CrimsonAlligator · 02/10/2022 12:56

I went away for a couple of days and managed to pick up a nasty bug, so I didn’t do any rowing for almost two weeks. I’m slowly easing myself back into it, but as I’m still on the mend I’ve temporarily halted my training plan.

There’s no way I can face sprint training at the moment, but slow & steady rows seem to be ok-ish. I did 4x 10 min yesterday, with a long break in between and 2x 5k today. If I have enough energy left, I’ll go for a walk along the sea this afternoon too. The weather is too nice to sit inside all day 😊

SophieLion · 02/10/2022 16:21

Sorry to hear you've not been good professor. Hopefully next week will be a better week for you too.

Well done on the 60 min spin pelo!

Will you elaborate on the squirrel walk MotherForkin? I'm sure it was super cute. We might be getting a dog too. I'm really excited!

Thanks for clarifying cat. I hope you enjoy the cliff walk. I love walking along coast paths. Quite envious!!

Sounds like you've been quite poorly crimson. Glad to hear you're on the mend now.

Epic heat day 2 (shoulders) for me today.

iloveeverykindofcat · 03/10/2022 07:46

Right, the deep clean is progressing. I'm quite tired out! But in a good way. My job is sedentary brain work so a change is as good a rest in that sense. Just will do some light weights I have at home to keep the momentum going then get on with it. Getting through a lot of podcasts this way.

PeloFondo · 03/10/2022 10:14

Decided I'm going to do this challenge after I've finished this week

The park we were in has a lot of wooded areas, Sophie, so as we were plodding along, the dog was delighted with life, spotting and pretending he wanted to chase squirrels. He's a sighthound so in theory should be a menace around them, but I don't know what he'd actually do if he managed to catch one 😆

Sorry to hear you weren't well, Crimson, I hope you're back to normal soon. How are you doing Professor?

I keep threatening to deep clean, Cat but I don't even know where to start! I'm still basking in the glory of having done the porch two weeks ago 😄

That looks tough, Pelo, good luck!

Didn't manage anything yesterday but did a long walk this morning and a swim at lunchtime.

I might have gone a bit mad Grin
Got pelofondo (50 miles) end of October
The pic I posted above to do through October
November is back to power zone 6 week challenge
Grin tired already

roonetta · 03/10/2022 19:14

Flowers to everyone who is feeling poorly. Hope you are on the mend soon.

Love the squirrel story Motherforkin Grin.

How exciting you might be getting a dog Sophie. Do you have a certain breed in mind? My DH is desperate for a dog, but I am not keen as I know looking after it will all fall to me, although I know I'd enjoy walking it.

Good luck Pelo! It sounds tough.

Walk to/ from work

30 min max class done so I have platinum for every week of this challenge!
Taper week next thank god

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 04/10/2022 07:25

Yoga session done. Still not feeling 100%, it’s really annoying. Thanks for the good wishes.

Well done, Pelo!

Days exercised 150.

roonetta · 04/10/2022 13:24

I now have the "Walk at Home" app which has all the walks with Leslie but also lots of content from other trainers. Did one today and almost died, and I was only using 2lb weights! Didn't enjoy it that much so probably won't do it again, but there are hundreds of workouts so I can plough through them Grin

30 min first peloton strength class done
It was meh. I picked beginner body weight as it's been ages since I did strength. But it was so basic it was explaining how to do heel raises etc. Skipping the rest and moving straight to weights I think

PeloFondo · 05/10/2022 18:55

30 min endurance spin class done

iloveeverykindofcat · 06/10/2022 05:24

I've been set back by being ill! After bragging about how I never get ill 🤔. That will show me. It was quite bad for a couple of days (not covid), I lost weight and strength (the opposite of what I need to do) but seem to be okay now just a bit fo a sore throat still. I will start easing back in with some yoga and light weights today. Better not go to gym until next week in case I give someone the germs.

roonetta · 06/10/2022 16:39

Sorry to hear you have been feeling rough cat. Glad to hear it is on its way out Flowers

iloveeverykindofcat · 06/10/2022 16:58

Thank you, it seems to be pretty much gone now! My friends have been ill one after the other, and like an idiot I was saying how I never seem to catch things, so that's a bit of humble pie for me. Anyway I started again today, with yoga and lighter weights.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 06/10/2022 20:25

Oh no, cat, I hope you're well again soon.

That app sounds good Roonetta, lots of variety.

I've had another dreadful week. I really don't get any exercise done if I don't do it first thing. I've been working late every day and I'm just too tired to go out afterwards. I had to bring dd to hockey training this evening which was close to a nice hilly/wood area so I went for a walk for 40 mins, which I'm going to count, just because it was actually outside! I'm off tomorrow so going to go to the gym after school drop off so I can't make any excuses.

Days exercised 135.
