20 min full body strength
Going to do a foam rolling class later

LivingDeadGirlUK · 22/04/2023 15:41

Yoga again this morning was a very nice start to the day.

Kyse · 23/04/2023 12:38

20 min country pop spin class

BezMills · 23/04/2023 14:20

Did my BodyCombat classes, 36 days.

roonetta · 23/04/2023 14:28

10 minutes skipping. I know it's only 10 minutes but I am going to count it as I am knackered after it Grin

10 mins skipping is a lot, Roonetta, well done!

I had a small operation on Wednesday. I thought I'd be back to exercise without a problem by Friday but I just about managed a short, easy jog this morning and I'm not feeling the better of it this evening. I'll hopefully be ok for a swim tomorrow.

Days exercised 71.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 24/04/2023 15:05

Easy, short swim at lunchtime.

Days exercised 72

BezMills · 24/04/2023 15:38

I'm doing 1 hour BodyAttack tonight. Possibly definitely unwise, after all the Combatting, but one of the other instructors is struggling for numbers so I'm going to support her. I know personally how much of a difference each body makes when your class sizes are small.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 25/04/2023 11:12

Strength and conditioning class today. I had to lower my weights and did it all low/minimal impact.

Days exercised 72

BezMills · 25/04/2023 11:20

How is the recovery going @MotherForkinShirtBalls ?

I've just been asked to send my first invoice for my classes. It's all getting a bit grown-up now! Previously I just taught for free gym membership - now it's paid.

If I was 25 years younger I could do this for a living, as it is I need the days off to recover from leading the class 3 hours a week.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 25/04/2023 12:03

Slower than I expected, Bez, which is annoying. I purposely gave myself a couple of days of doing nothing (which is very unusual) but it seems I might need more. I've had some bleeding after today's class so I'll have to take it easy tomorrow I think.

That's very exciting about your classes! Lovely feeling to be recognised as being good at what you do.

BezMills · 25/04/2023 12:57

Please take it easy @MotherForkinShirtBalls there is plenty time to train but you can only heal now.

One of my fellow instructors turned her ankle teaching BodyAttack (some kind of aerobics lunacy). She continued to teach the class, which wasn't too smart to be honest. I would have done the same, tbf, it's horrible to feel like you're letting the class down. It's all swollen today and she said to me 'I'm going to do BodyPump though, I can do that standing on one leg'.

I told her "You really must skip pump tonight, one leg is not a plan you nutter"

As per above, last night I did BodyAttack. I didn't die nearly as much as anticipated, I guess I'm feeling quite fit at the moment. My core is a bit out of condition though, after missing 10 weeks of Barre and Core classes. I really need to do some specific core stuff, as BodyCombat doesn't quite cover that, despite being a pretty decent overall workout.

37 days

roonetta · 25/04/2023 17:26

Take it easy Motherforkin. I hope you are okay. As you would say "mind yourself" GrinFlowers

Wow you are really packing everything in Bez. You are doing incredibly! I am not surprised you are feeling fit! Star

I went back to 30DS L1 today along with a 10 minute skip (which is really 5 minutes of actual skipping). My middle aged spread is catching up with me and I feel like I need to increase the intensity of my workouts.

Halp! I have day 2 DOMS from the BodyAttack class. Mainly triceps from the pressups and back from the (not kidding) arm flapping.
Definitely going to add this class into my weekly menu, it's fun and it hits some spots.

Almost time to start swimming - I've been putting it off. To be fair the pool getting repossessed in Feb was kind of a blocker there, considering how poor the water quality is here over the rainy months. But... it's time.
There's being a bit undertrained to be able to 'tell a compelling story' and 'go on a journey' which is GRATE for the old social media fundraising. And then there's genuinely leaving it a bit late, which kind of really sucks, and can lead to panic-overtraining or missing ya goals.

August 12 is the Swim For Hope, going to the mainland at sparrowfart o'clock then swimming home to the Isle of Wight. I need to be swim fit for end June ideally.

Kyse · 26/04/2023 09:26

Just got a notification that my next spin class will be my 150th. Guess I can say I've stuck with it!

BezMills · 26/04/2023 10:20

that's amazing @Kyse

I wonder what number I'm on with my BC as an attendee (would have to be a bit of a guesstimate) and as a teacher* (theoretically I can get a pretty close number since it's only been since November)

*Totters off to spreadsheet that

BezMills · 26/04/2023 10:35

I've taught BC 37 times, according to (pushes glasses up nose) my calculations. I'm teaching 3 times a week, so will hit 100 roughly in time for my first anniversary on 10 Nov. Woop!

roonetta · 26/04/2023 13:05

Well done Kyse! You have done amazingly. Are you finding it easier now?

You will absolutely smash your swimming challenge Bez if your approach to your classes is anything to go byStarStar

30DS L2 done ☑️

thanks @roonetta ! My arms and back have lost all their conditioning after a few months out of the water, but that will come back in a few weeks.
My legs are in decent nick from all the gymmage, so my breast stroke will be up to scratch in no time. The front crawl might take a bit more work - I only got the hang of it last year and I'll need to get a feel for the water again.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 26/04/2023 14:40

Oh god, do I say that Roonetta?? I've officially turned into my mother 😅 GP agrees though and I've been told to go easy for another few days so dog walks only.

I love swimming Bez, enjoy getting back into it. How far is the swim in August?

Well done Kyse, it's great to hit a milestone.

Kyse · 26/04/2023 14:46

Definitely getting easier. And harder because I've added strength classes in Grin
I think with exercise you either do something different and so it hurts, or you push yourself more and that hurts

BezMills · 26/04/2023 17:28

@MotherForkinShirtBalls it's about 2km or 1.3 miles.

OublietteBravo · 26/04/2023 21:02

I promise I’m still here! Currently moving as we need to be out of our house for 6 months due to building work. So all my evenings/weekends are being spent sorting/packing/moving stuff. Which means I’ve been terrible about exercising.

BezMills · 27/04/2023 06:43

@OublietteBravo moving boxes is definitely exercise. A lot of 'functional strength training' that is all the rage recently looks, like moving boxes to me!
