Barre then Spin sounds like a proper workout @Maple2023

By proper I mean 'ministry of silly walks' tomorrow kind of workout. I miss barre (sadface).

It was tough! The barre classes on the peloton app are mostly 10 mins but by minute 4 I'm cursing that my arse has cramp Grin

Seems to wake everything up for a spin class though and sort of activate muscles I need

45 minute strength workout done ☑️

I realised while doing ab work today that my back now lies flat on the floor. When I first started exercising, I found it really hard to stop my back from arching, so I can only assume my core is getting stronger #celebratethelittlewins Grin

That's great Roonetta!! An achievement!!

Did iron day 6 yesterday (legs, mainly quads) and today planning to do iron 7 (shoulders and triceps I think).

BezMills · 13/04/2023 10:38

nice workouts guys! I've not done much this week, but I have my usual Thursday/Friday/Sunday BCs planned. Next week I hope to get a bit more done in my Monday-Wednesday block. I'm just hoping this current storm system is the last one before we get some decent summerish weather, and I can start my swimming training.

I just got an email from Wessex Cancer Trust Solent Swim saying 'hope your training is going well' and I'm like 'err, haven't actually swum since October but I think I'll be grand if I can get back in the water soon?'

OublietteBravo · 14/04/2023 08:12

Apparently it’s really easy to just not do any exercise for over a week! I’m so bad at fitting it in when I’m travelling. And regaining my motivation when I’m back from my trips.

I did finally get back to it yesterday: Hard Body L1 (45 mins)

Days exercised: 60

BezMills · 14/04/2023 14:45

Nice one getting back on it @OublietteBravo

I did my Thursday and Friday classes.

32 days

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 14/04/2023 23:04

I'm away with work, hosting a conference. I'm absolutely exhausted. I've done 200% of my daily activity target yesterday and today (as prescribed by my watch) so I'm counting them!

Days exercised 67

roonetta · 15/04/2023 17:57

Well done Motherforkin! I would definitely be counting them too Grin

Sunday class done! 33 days. Feeling good

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 17/04/2023 18:26

I tried to run this morning but it ended up being run a bit, walk a bit.

Days exercised 68

roonetta · 18/04/2023 05:50

Have you seen Caroline's App is coming out 28th April @SophieLion? It looks great!

OP posts:
SophieLion · 18/04/2023 06:49

Hi! Yes I did see. It does look great and she seems to have put loads of work into it. I like that she has a "how to" section which explains all the exercise.
I am wondering how much it will cost though....

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 18/04/2023 22:52

Class this morning. I added 5kg to my bar squats and thought I'd never stand up again after lunch 😅

Days exercised 69

BezMills · 19/04/2023 04:31

@MotherForkinShirtBalls haha!

I was always a sucker for the blue plates (2.5kg) at Barre. Those feel heavy as heck at arms length, after a minute or so of whatever we were doing.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 19/04/2023 10:18

My hand held weights have to vary so much because of my shoulder, Bez, it's annoying. 2.5kg at arms length is tough going!

Hill walk instead of run this morning. I'm on a new antihistamine dosing and took a drowsy making one last night and I'm still half zonked.

Days exercised 70.

roonetta · 19/04/2023 12:46

Well done on the increased weights Motherforkin! You have waited so long for this StarStar

Good going Bez!

Yes I thought that Sophie. I hope she keeps in mind there will be people who can't afford much at present. I will definitely have a look at the free trial Grin

I managed a 15 minute yoga with Adriene for neck and shoulders yesterday. I have also bought a skipping rope as was inspired by someone on Instagram, so I did 10 minutes of skipping yesterday too (although it was more like 5 minutes with the constant stopping and starting). I was surprised how out of breath I got. My calves are definitely feeling it today.

Tried one of Trinny's yoga sessions which she does with a yoga teacher but gave up 15 minutes in as she was going way too quick and I didn't want to end up hurting myself. Did a 30 minute band workout with Natalie Hayward instead.

I've been learning new tracks for BodyCombat. Every three months we get a new workout (they call it a Release), which is the tracks plus very detailed choreography. This is the first Release that I've had as a qualified teacher, and I guess learning your first one since qualifying is a bit of a Rite of Passage. I've learned 5 so far, and have 2 more to go to complete the set.
Even the cooldown has choreography (which can get in the bin, frankly, but my instructor insists I do that too lol).

LivingDeadGirlUK · 20/04/2023 10:22

I've been away and have been mostly focusing on getting my 10k steps in, I have to say it is feeling easier, I don't know how much of that is the sunshine though. It makes everything feel better!

BezMills · 20/04/2023 10:34

yes to sunshine. I'm going to start running next week. First I need to teach my Thursday, Friday Sunday classes.

SophieLion · 20/04/2023 14:41

Roonetta, Someone on another thread wrote that CG's new app is GBP80 for the year and GBP8.99 monthly for the UK.

Sounds a lot when you're used to free content but I've no idea if it is actually a reasonable price as I don't know what people normally charge for such apps.

BezMills · 20/04/2023 15:23

I think having online structured workouts, if you use them, is worth that kind of money, easily. If you don't have the money you can still find equivalent things for free, but maybe with youtube adverts in the middle.

I think Les Mills On Demand or whatever it is called is about 12 (you can usually find a discount, mine costs me 8.99). That's fantastic value considering the back catalog on there. However, and I'm not a LM shill honestly, there's only so much training any one person can or needs to do! Having a relatively small selection of workouts from a trainer you already like, might be just as good or even better, for you. I've been paying LMOD for 2 months and haven't really used it. I just don't seem to be enthusiastic about training that way.

roonetta · 21/04/2023 17:06

Great that it's feeling easier for you @LivingDeadGirlUK - keep it up! Star

I think that's about average Sophie. I think a lot of people will just continue with her YouTube workouts unless there is something hugely different in the App. While I am interested in the nutrition side of things, I know realistically I won't follow any food plan because I find it hard enough cooking for the family who all have different likes and dislikes, without adding extra pressure to meal times.

You make a good point Bez. It's only worth it if you know you'll use it. Sounds like the classes are going well! I don't know how you have the energy to do more exercise in top of the classes! Seriously impressed Star

45 minute dynamic Pilates with ring done.
