Um, that needs more context! Is everyone OK?

Maple2023 · 07/04/2023 23:12

@MotherForkinShirtBalls yes all good, it happened in the early hours so no staff were there. Devastating still
Don't want to link for search reasons but if you google "Inchcape fire" it comes up

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 07/04/2023 23:28

Oh wow, that's awful Maple. I'm very glad no one was hurt but that's terrible. Hope the staff have some support around for you. Flowers

SophieLion · 08/04/2023 10:46

Oh that doesn't sound good motherforkin. How are you now?

Your holiday sounds lovely Roonetta. Idyllic.

Sorry to hear about your work place maple. What happens now? All WFH?

Well done on smashing your class bezmills!

Im ok. Realised I had part cold/sore throat and part reaction to vaccines I had to do for a summer holiday.

Managed to do a an iron workout and a 5km
Run these days. And a lot of walking. Yesterday was over 20k steps.

roonetta · 08/04/2023 12:32

What a shock Maple. I echo Motherforkin's sentiments and am glad that no one was hurt. Hope things get sorted for you soon Flowers

40 minute workout with Trinny/Nat.

Friday class was good, just three of us and I was quite wiped from being sick all week with this stupic cold, and the class only 18 hours earlier too.

I tried a new track that I've just learned. It went... ok.

28 / 200. Things will pick up in the warmer months!

Maple2023 · 08/04/2023 12:41

@SophieLion we don't know TBH. Some of us can't WFH, all the laptops/computers are also gone so we need new ones.. it's a mess

20 min beginner ride (struggling with knee pain so I'm trying to alternate what I do)
About to foam roll my hamstrings

SophieLion · 08/04/2023 13:12

It's sounds awful maple. But thank goodness no one was hurt.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 08/04/2023 19:19

Hope you're doing OK Maple, no doubt it'll take a few days to process what happened.

Another class this morning. Lots of shoulder stuff to be adapted but i did 30kg deadlifts which I haven’t in a long time!

Days exercised 63

roonetta · 09/04/2023 11:49

Glad you're feeling better Sophie. 20k steps is amazing. I struggle to reach 10k most days Confused

20 min full body weights
10 min yoga focus flow hamstrings

LivingDeadGirlUK · 09/04/2023 20:11

Hi everyone, I've dropped by to hopefully get some accountability for increasing my exercise. I walk a fair bit as I can't drive, so 25 mins each way to work etc but I'm gaining weight and feel so unfit now I'm nearly 40 I really need to do something else as well.

I've done a Yoga workout the last 3 mornings, different body 'focus' for each one. I'm going to try and keep this up as a daily habit and I have to say I didn't think I would feel much but my muscles are achy! So it must be doing something.

My biggest goal is to reduce my belly fat, I was always a pear shape but I've got a really large middle section now as well since having my son. Basically look like I'm still pregnant and its been 4 years!

SophieLion · 10/04/2023 09:28

I highly suggest access to a dog if you want to increase your steps Roonetta !! 😂😉

Well done on the 30kg deadlifts motherforkin! Very impressive. Is that with a barbell or dumbbells?

Hello livingdeadgirlUK and welcome to the thread!! We all love different types of exercise here so it's very inspiring to read what everyone else is doing. Great you've started doing yoga and always good to have a goal.

Personally I'm into Caroline girvan (mainly strength training), yoga and running. Making an effort to do yoga and running at least once a week as I feel they are so good for the body.

Today did girvan iron day 9 (full body dumbbell) and the 3 min bowflex plank.

roonetta · 10/04/2023 10:45

Maybe I could borrow a dog just for the walks Sophie

Welcome @LivingDeadGirlUK. Sounds like you are doing great and the more you do, the more you will want to do if that makes sense. I chop and change my workouts, either because I fancy a change, or more likely because I have injured something Confused. I am currently doing a mix of dynamic Pilates, strength workouts with light weights (see earlier re: injury) and walking. I am the same as you and walk to/from work 3 days a week, 20 mins each way, and also do Walk with Leslie workouts occasionally. As Sophie said, I love seeing what everyone else is doing and it motivates me to try different things. For instance there have been several posts about yoga and this inspired me to do a 10 minute yoga with Adriene this morning. I am going to try and add in at least 10 minutes of yoga each day.

Today I did a 50 minute workout with Trinny/Nat which they called 'cardiolates'. I enjoyed it and now look like this Angry

Sunday I did my class. One of the local councillors was there. A smashing chap of about 60, known to like his real ale. He was giving it great guns, even saw him having a go at the hopping side kicks. Legend.

Today I went in and did the stretching class, then a did a bit of boxing workout in the functional fitness room.

30 days

Maple2023 · 10/04/2023 18:38

Day off for me today
Personally I'm trying to mix it up a bit so I don't get injured and it's more balanced

My plans are to pair
Full body weights with stretch classes
Barre before spin (activates glutes)
Then on my rest days to do some yoga even just the 10 min focus flow ones as my hamstring is really tight in my bad leg
I had cauda equina from a severely herniated disc and spinal surgery

LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/04/2023 22:47

Swimming today although it was more playing in the pool with the kids. Do feel like I've exercised though!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 10/04/2023 22:53

Hello @LivingDeadGirlUK 👋

The deadlifts were with a bar, Sophie. I used to be able to lift 75kg and squat 50ish. I'd love to get back to those kinds of weights again one of these days.

I had another class today. Better instructor than the morning sessions I've done. Lots of core, I'll be sore tomorrow. This week is going to be horrible with work, I've a big conference I'm organising at the end of the week so I'm going to make a major effort until Wednesday if only to stop my head exploding

Days exercised 64

LivingDeadGirlUK · 11/04/2023 14:54

In awe of you lifters, I used to lift pre kids (like 10 years ago) and it was absolutely the time I was most happy with my body, plus the rush after good session!

It was yoga again this morning and then a walk around the woods with the kids, a game of football, and an arm workout trying to push two kids on the swings at once!

BezMills · 11/04/2023 16:41

I think I might do a season of lifting in the winter (I did plan to last year but got sidelined training for BodyCombat). I do quite enjoy it, but I would have no time this summer. I'll be doing BC 3 times a week and swimming 5-7 times, plus one decent run every week too - at least that's my plan for the summer.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 11/04/2023 17:59

That sounds like a great day of working out Living! I don't get a rush from lifting, only cardio, but lifting is far better for me overall. The classes at the new gym are a cross fit style so there a bit of hiit type cardio in there too. I really need to start running again. I signed up for a 10k in June (very ambitiously) but a family thing has come up and I'd have to ask 25 people to rearrange for me so I'll have to find another race. Finding the time to get it all in is my main problem...

I escaped for a short swim at lunchtime, only half an hiir but worth it.

Days 65

SophieLion · 11/04/2023 20:30

Your lifting is and was impressive motherforkin. Was asking re dumbbells/barbells as I find my forearms get very tired holding heavy dumbbells and wonder if deadlifting with a barbell would be less tiring on the arms.

I also think I get more endorphins from running than weights but I enjoy weights more than running when I'm actually exercising.

Today a Kassandra 40min yoga flow with back bends and the bowflex 3 min plank.

roonetta · 12/04/2023 08:47

Managed to get a 50 minute strength workout in early as it's half term. Makes such a difference to get it done first thing.
