@Rebel2023 that sounds like a real experience!

I should do Barre today but I feel a bit overtrained and run down it was quite a taxing weekend overall. Rest day authorised.

Looking at my home office, I'm going to do some tidying up and make myself a space to stretch and do 100s of pressups

I did some as part of my class yesterday, and I'm really feeling it. this 2800 thing is a really terrible idea lol. But I've even got the charity tee and some donations already so I'm all in for it.

OublietteBravo · 30/01/2023 19:47

Well done @BezMills Star

about 20 minutes after my post, I discovered that the landlord has shuttered the gym and sent the bailiffs in. The manager hasn't been keeping up with bills apparently and so all staff, instructors, members, small businesses using the premises, are all shit out of luck. For me it's gutting but I've got a full time job in IT, this doesn't really affect my bottom line at all. It's the staff and instructors that are getting the worst of it.
What a shitshow.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 31/01/2023 17:22

Wow, thats dramatic Bez! I hope everyone involved will be OK.

I spent most of today driving to and from a very sad funeral so I'm going for an easy jog/walk while the kids are at training later.

OublietteBravo · 31/01/2023 19:35

Wow @BezMills. What a shock. I’m a bit worried our favourite coffee shop might go the same way. I hope not.

I’ve just done 30DS L2D3 and DDMix: Greek (32 min). Which takes me to 20 days of exercise in January.

I think my target for February is going to be another 20 days of exercise. I want to average 35 minutes each day, so 700 minutes in total. Let’s see how that goes!

roonetta · 01/02/2023 10:57

Sorry to hear about the funeral Motherforkin Sad. Hope the walk improved your mood a little.

Wow that's not good Bez. I take it that means no more teaching at the moment. Hopefully there are other gyms close to you? It really is sad seeing all of these lovely businesses closing down.

Well done on meeting your target Oubliette Star

The swarm ride sounds awesome rebel. What a lovely thing to do Smile

@roonetta yeah it really pissed in my chips tbh, because I was planning to film my class this week for certification. I've booked the local community centre hall for some sunday mornings, and I'll put on a basic punchy-kicky class for my fellow gym-bereft. I can't do the Les Mills music or content, that's not allowed, but I can put together a few rounds of technique work and a bit of circuits for my people.

100 pressups today, day 1 of the challenge. Wasn't too bad in the end. Started with a 1 set max (which it turns out is 13), then I filled in the rest mainly in sets of 5, over a couple of hours. My arms aren't that strong, but I have core for days thanks to the Combat and Barre classes (I used to do LM Core too but my trainer is on paternity). I have some day 1 footage and a couple of pictures. I will use them for motivation. I'm not only going to do the challenge, I'm going to have a good month and drop a couple pounds while I do it.

The plan was to do dry feb, but day 1 got to me already. My friend's dad died today, and I will take a drink with my pal tonight, raise a glass to his pops.

OublietteBravo · 01/02/2023 19:33

I tried a new DVD. (Now that’s what I call fitness - the ultimate dance workout). I did the warmup and the first 3 routines (ease it in, take it higher, and rock it out). It was quite fun. And a change from doing weight bearing exercise.

@OublietteBravo nice! I like to change things up, keeps things fresh.

"yeah it really pissed in my chips"

Haha what a great expression Bez. I will definitely be using this in the future Grin Well done on the push ups Star

Like the sound of the DVD Oubliette.

Thanks Roonetta. I ended up running a lot of my planned walk on Tuesday and it felt good to push myself.

Day off yesterday. I am just about to go into a long meeting so I got out early for a long walk and I did half an hour of core and back strengthening exercises lunchtime.

Not feeling great today so I did a fairly gentle core/stretching video. I'm feeling very unmotivated the last week so if I give myself any opportunity to slack off you won't see me for 6 months... Hmm
