Last thread is nearly full so here is a new one.

The numbers in bold at the bottom of posts are the total we have run together that month, so just add your numbers as you go.

I remember you @emummy, I don't think you are a million miles from me. I have kept my lunch time runs up. Has certainly helped with sanity over the past 2 years. I used to enjoy marathons but they feel a long way off right now!

Mostlyjustrunning · 28/01/2022 21:10

Ooh a running thread! Hi everyone 😁

emummy · 28/01/2022 21:28

Hello!

Yes I think you’re right @Theonlyoneiknow. Running has definitely helped with sanity recently. I have decided to do nothing longer than a half marathon this year, I just don’t have the energy!

Is the number at the bottom the running total? (See what I did there Grin) . Am I allowed to add today’s 7.19km (4.47 miles)?

I’m with you on being too knackered for high mileage atm. Started running November 2019 and did 2020km in 2020 and over 1000 miles in 2021 with an ultra nov 2020 and nov 2021. Feeling like I do t want to make distance the priority this year.

emummy · 29/01/2022 08:24

It is the running total! It’s in miles. Well done on your ultras; I did one in November too and am not in the mood for that amount of training again. I have a 10k in April, which is trail and very hilly, then a half in May. Happy with that!

Popped along to parkrun this morning, the wind wasn’t too bad here.

I’m going to have to adjust to not doing large total miles and being ok with that. I’m focusing more of walking this year (trying to get my ML done), have a few trail races in as a way to keep up general fitness without the pressure of achieving good times. Plus hopefully a few 10kms, never had a good time at that distance but at least it doesn’t requires hours of training

Welcome back @Theonlyoneiknow and welcome to @Mostlyjustrunning

Late afternoon run. Was due to be RD at parkrun but we cancelled because of the weather. The estate we run on had only just reopened after storm Arwen. We have another storm hitting tomorrow so much fun. Anyway wind died down a bit this afternoon so did a steady hilly run. Out for dinner tonight!

Hello all.
Shame about park run being cancelled. Very windy run yesterday but quite enjoyed it.
I’ve run most days in January but had some rest days aswell. Think I’m too old to run every day. In February I want to do more long runs but ones without pressure where I just run the speed and distance I feel like.
I’ll add yesterday’s run then I need to work out the rest of my January miles.

Fitted in a run between storms, nice steady trot round country roads. Water was off for a bit, back on & still have power thank goodness.

Was a lovely calm morning weather wise today. We have no water either @emummy! Did a long easy warm up and some hill reps today. Made a nice change!

Mostlyjustrunning · 30/01/2022 19:16

Thanks for the welcomes and well done on your ultra @emummy - wonder if we did the same one…

Our power went off 7am Saturday morning and just back on this afternoon. Still squeezed a run in though 😁

Good work @mostlyjustrunning! We kept power but lost water yesterday for 12 hours. Last night's storm was insane, was literally hiding under the duvet.

Lunchtime run trying my new trainers (Nike Tempo Next %)

Happy new shoes day! Losing water would be awful!
Another wee run today

Hope everyone has their water and power back on.
Nice run in the sun this morning but was a bit windy at times.
Adding the rest of my January miles.

Thought you’d done quite a long run for a sec! Is the running total for the month? Should I add all mine?

Our power has just come back on after being off again for a few hours

Amaura · 31/01/2022 21:55

A random 8.5 mile run today

emummy · 01/02/2022 07:32

Yes @Mostlyjustrunning, the total is for the month. You can add your runs as you do them.
We had no water on Saturday, got restored overnight thankfully. Still places here without power & I was dodging trees driving to work! And also running this morning, but if an obstacle course.
Intervals this morning, managed ok pace.

I’m going to have to include jumping on my usual runs 🤣

emummy · 01/02/2022 12:05

Yes, and occasionally ducking/crawling!

OP posts:
Mostlyjustrunning · 01/02/2022 12:09

Yes and a few off track detours (mind you I do that a lot anyway 😆)

Does anyone else track their elevation gain? In 2020 I ran up the equivalent of Everest four times. I do like a hilly run (or power hike as it often becomes!)

emummy · 01/02/2022 14:06

I hadn’t been tracking it, you’ve sent me down an internet rabbit hole now! I did 2 Everests last year, must do better!

OP posts:
Mostlyjustrunning · 01/02/2022 17:15

Two Everests is a lot especially when you’re not specifically aiming for elevation!

Amaura · 01/02/2022 17:34

I shouldn’t have looked, I almost made 5 and now I’m annoyed I didn’t 😂

Have no plans to come anywhere near that this year though.

Anyone done OMM?

Mostlyjustrunning · 01/02/2022 17:42

Sorry @Amaura Grin

I haven’t done OMM but maybe one day!
