Nice easy sunny run this morning, cold again but not too slippy. May get a run in Edinburgh tomorrow, heading down today as Dd has an audition for drama school.

Hello sorry fell off the thread briefly. Been doing shortish runs most days this month. Sort of doing RED January but without any pressure.
Doublethecuddles I did the Edinburgh marathon which I think is the same time as the half. The atmosphere and everything was great.

Coldish run this morning but at least it wasn’t icy.

Good luck to your daughter emummy and enjoy your city run.
IRun4Me the route is almost the same as the full marathon. It’s quite nice to run without pressure. I do silly Strava challenges which sometimes I wish I wouldn’t sign up to.

Just catching up with recent runs, had a good 10k race yesterday, managed to beat my target by 2 minutes which I was very happy with. Edinburgh is a gorgeous city and I'd love to run there one day - I lived there for 10 years but was definitely not a runner at the time. I have a strava friend who lives there and goes on runs down some of my favourite paths which always gives me a bit of an envious moment!

Good 5 1/2 miles yesterday and 7 1/2 today. DC are in the middle of mock exams so have become there personal taxi services which means my routine is out of sorts. I like running with a friend but this hasn’t been possible. Hopefully on Friday.

When did everyone start running? I was the girl at school who hated cross country. Possibly the nylon shorts and airtex top didn’t help when running in the freezing cold! I have always exercised but didn’t start running until my early 40s. I started running very slowly with a patient friend who encouraged me. It’s now part of my weekly routine and DH adjust knows when I have to get out and run. I can still remember the delight when I managed to run a 10k.

I was quite a good cross country runner in early high school, then did nothing till my now-13 year old was 4, when I decided to get fit. I started at boot camp and took up running to cope with the warm-up ‘jog’ at the start. I remember saying to DH how ridiculous it would be to run 10k, it was way too far. Now done 4 marathons and an ultra! I usually run 4 times a week and my DH is also very supportive and flexible.

First run of the week, skipped Tuesday after a terrible sleep. Working from home today so went out a bit later and ran in the daylight.

It’s great that it’s getting a bit lighter in the mornings emummy. I managed to go out for a quick 4 miles this morning and was home by 9.05.

Nice steady run in the cold this morning. Started in dark & moonlight, finished in lovely sunrise. Then off to marshal at parkrun.

Quick 4 miles before spending day watching son play football. Never feel so bad watching football when I get a run in first.

Another week of training done- hoping that all this work will pay off. I often find that I am starting runs still a bit tired from previous days but so far niggle free and I think I am getting stronger.

I’m sure you will get rewarded for your hard work @UnaOfStormhold, well done for keeping it up.
Steady run in chilly sunshine this morning, working from home so I could run in daylight again. Still pretty frosty and slippery so not the most relaxing run!
Glad prelims are over @Doublethecuddles, always a fun time!

Ahh lost my post.

Summary is I managed to finish my (slightly delayed) 2000 miles in 12 months challenge. So I might not stop hiding in case I jinxed it now 😂

Need to catch up properly and then add my miles. I doubt I’ll be running until February

Amaura · 27/01/2022 21:50

Looks like there has been some good consistent running, well done all

Wow what an achievement Amaura, you deserve a few days off.

Solo beach run which ended upon the golf course. Was really pleased at the pace as I was trying to get back to the showers at the gym before a class came out! Just made it but failed getting my leggings off quickly!

Hi All! I was on this thread AGES ago but dropped off (still been running). Scotland based! Will hopefully be better this time :)

emummy · 28/01/2022 20:25

Well done @Amaura, amazing!
Welcome back @Theonlyoneiknow! Good to see you’re still running.
We have had to cancel our parkrun tomorrow because of the Amber wind warning; I was RD so happy to get a rest! Not sure if I’ll run, waiting to see how bad it is.
