Last thread is nearly full so here is a new one.
All runners are welcome, regardless of age, experience, speed, distance etc. Just join in and chat about all things running.
The numbers in bold at the bottom of posts are the total we have run together that month, so just add your numbers as you go.

Thanks @Amaura

UnaOfStormhold · 31/03/2021 07:07

I am logging miles for one challenge and km for another so I have my Garmin sync to strava in km and mapmyrun in miles which gets around the conversion problem.

Lovely first run back with my running club last night, so nice to have people to talk to and the warm, light weather helped (though I was overdressed for the warm temperatures!) I dithered a bit about which pace group to join, went for the slower group and as we set off wondered if I should have gone for an even slower one, but picked up the pace later and will probably try the next pace group up next time I go out with them.

Lovely pictures emummy
Couldn’t agree more Amaura and well put about each mile being equal. I like this thread for the fact that there is no pressure with distance or pace, hearing about good, bad and indifferent runs and also challenges people are doing.

Nice run in the sun this morning. Busy day, so went early (for me) and it was quieter than expected.

Welcome all. I remember saying I’d never run a marathon!

18.8 miles to add from Monday running club intervals, Tuesday different running club intervals and trails this morning in the sun.

Last day of the month before the numbers start again...

Purpleraindeer · 31/03/2021 20:34

Ooh - last chance to get my miles in for March.

Long intervals today - session was to gradually speed up to a bit more than mara pace (not that I actually have run one in 10yrs). I did this session in jan and this time it was so much easier. I think I’m getting fitter Smile so that and the nice weather made me feel a good glow all day!

Not planned - but I got us to a nice round number for March too Smile

Amaura · 31/03/2021 22:29

10.6 miles this evening.
Split over two runs; 6.6 with reunited friends followed by garden pizza but then I realised I was only 4 miles away from 200 this month. Figured I probably wouldn’t get the chance again (miles will drop when clubs start up again)

50FootWave · 01/04/2021 07:35

Sorry everyone, been having a screen break for a few days, but still running (and swimming!).

Hope everyone is well?

3 runs to add.

1267.5 for March's final total.

3.5 for today.

emummy · 01/04/2021 09:14

Nice easy run today, sunny but chilly! Apparently we are forecast to have temperatures below freezing and snow next week, that’ll be fun. Fingers crossed it’s not as bad as predicted.

Yeaht that's my fault sorry, I put my big thick winter jumpers in the loft. Sorry.

6 miles this morning. Bit of a plod, legs still tired from Tuesday.

@Iamblossom what were you thinking?! Oh dear oh dear.
Ours stay out till the end of May, we’ve learned our lesson!

I know [shamefaced] Although I have soooo many clothes, I still have warm things to wear, even after taking 2 bin liners to the loft. What I SHOULD have done is get rid of the things I didn't wear this Winter instead of putting them up there but in my defence I went exactly nowhere to where anything! [defensive]

Lovely 5.5 miles this morning, and I was over dressed too. Yesterday it was absolutely Baltic with a freezing cold wind,

lamblossom it’s difficult to clear out if the charity shops aren’t open 😁 emummy I am with you, not putting clothes away. I remember being on a cycling course in June and being very glad that I still had gloves in my pocket.

I am really starting to need more drawer space for my running kit - my two bedside drawers were ok when I just had a few pairs of capris and two old cycling tops, but adding winter and summer kit, plus various other essential items (lights, socks, headbands etc) has really got a bit beyond that now! I have my eyes on one of the towel drawers...

My running club's new challenge is who can do most elevation so it looks like I am going to have to do that hill work I have been dodging. Various people I am logging miles for one challenge and km for another so I have my Garmin sync to strava in km and mapmyrun in miles which gets around the conversion problem.

1119.5 pure hill repeats but I went for a nice hilly trail run instead. I may miss out on oints but I don't want to have a month of

UnaOfStormhold · 02/04/2021 07:57

Sorry, phone went a bit weird and pasted my last comment in the middle of a new one and then published it before I could sort it out.

What I was trying to say was that some people seem to be trying to get max points in the challenge by doing pure hill repeats. I don't think I can face a month of just doing hill repeats - much more fun to hit my favourite hilly trails even if I miss out on max points!

I do like the club challenges though - this weekend we have a 10k virtual Easter egg hunt too!

Shifted my long run to today instead of tomorrow (makes for some interesting 7 day stats)

An 18 mile long on a new route (still trail but flat) plus a social club 6 (for which I got a bottle of wine as I had to take over leading the group last minute).

Doublethecuddles · 02/04/2021 17:28

Lovely run and chat along the beach this morning.

UnaOfStormhold I used to have lots of running clothes but have been reducing them. I do need a new pair of cropped leggings for summer. I would wear shorts but can’t be bothered making sure my legs are always hairless 😂. Am tempted with a pair of sweaty Betty but the very pricey. I usually wear Next but the just dont stay up as well as they used to!
Well done Amaura enjoy your wine.

Cor @Amaura - did you do your 18 and 6 in one day?

Lovely 8m for me today on my favourite route. Felt very cold though

Crikey no 😂. One was later night, one was this morning

I have lots of running clothes. And shoes. Do need new socks though Grin
Nice run this morning. Went off with the dog and just thought I’ll see how it goes. Did a nice comfortable (and I thought slow) 10k. But when I got home I saw it was quite a good pace. The new inhaler seems to be working and I can breathe again.

Did my long run today too. 18 miles of trails and a new route with lots of lovely scenery.

10k Easter egg hunt completed this morning with a new 10k pb nearly 2 mind faster than my previous one 6 months ago so very chuffed with that.

Oh, and I am getting close to John O'Groats so have signed up to do the virtual North Coast 500 which starts later this month. Think I am going to try just counting my runs for an extra challenge.

A nice round 100

Iamblossom · 03/04/2021 15:12

6km with my cousin and the dogs this morning, she was faaaaaast!!! 🥵
