Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

My step is pretty much the same as yours Pebbledashery but from a different no-name brand. It's more than fine for step, but depending on your height might be a little short to act as a bench for body pump. I do a certain amount of skooshing around when I've laid down to make sure all my important bits are on the step.

Did grit strength 25 this morning - I think it’s my favourite of the Grits so far.

BP nano music sounds awful but might give the nano grit a try

wishywashywoowoo70 · 01/03/2021 18:17

Anyone else done the Fast Burner challenge. How did you find it and were results good?

Peachypips78 · 01/03/2021 20:40

@HermioneWeasley what is grit strength like? I hate jumping due to big boobs and bad pelvic floor so have avoided Grit for now- but is strength more like extreme Pump?

@wishywashywoowoo70 I started it then hurt my hip so didn't get past the first week, but it is really good. When I'm better I'm going to start again.

HermioneWeasley · 01/03/2021 20:47

Sorry to tell you @Peachypips78 that there is still some jumping in strength. If you’re after cardio without jumps have you looked at Attack and Shbam?

nbee84 · 01/03/2021 21:17

I did bp nano this evening. Didn't love the music at all - and for me the music is one of the big things I like about Les Mills and what pushes me through a workout. I liked the chest track and with the short set with a barbell, there is the potential to go heavier so I will try 15kg next time. I also liked the bi/tri combo track - probably because it wasn't too hard so very 'do-able'
I also did half of the grit nano - I have to make adaptions due to my knee injury and by halfway I was having to adapt every move so I gave up and did a combat upper body, but the half that I did do was good.

I really enjoy Bodystep athletic over the regular one. The stuff they do when they incorporate weights is really good.

Why have I not see the nano releases?!

Pebbledashery · 02/03/2021 13:13

Oh my god, I did body step 100 this morning! it was amazing! i'm hugely uncoordinated but was such a good work out and literally the sweat was something else!

TabbyStar · 02/03/2021 13:51

Step has taken over as my favourite from Attack. I bought a second hand Reebok step from eBay for the width that some of the others don't have. Some of the coordination was challenging to begin with, but I think I'm mostly sorted now.

Pebbledashery · 02/03/2021 13:52

I struggled with doing cha cha cha ha. Didn't realise how uncoordinated I was. I think I can only do step twice a week max, the burn was unbelievable in my legs!

EasterIssland · 02/03/2021 13:54

I wanna do step but I'm worried about impact... it damages my back if I do too much of it so worried ii'lll end up injuring myself

Pebbledashery · 02/03/2021 13:57

Yeah, I wouldn't do it more than once or twice a week! I do attack twice, combat twice and will do 1 step and 1 pump, then have Sundays to rest!

rosettesforjill · 02/03/2021 14:40

Just used my barbell for my first Bodypump in about 12 years...

My god. I am going to feel that tomorrow

Pebbledashery · 02/03/2021 15:42

Ah I can't wait for mine to be delivered!

TabbyStar · 02/03/2021 20:23

Step you can do all low impact. Yeah the party track or whatever they call it had me sitting on my step crying once, but I seem to be able to cha cha cha now! The lunges, squats, arm raises combos nearly beat me initially to!

I can't do Sh'bam though.

sociallydistained · 03/03/2021 08:27

I’ve cried in Step before 😂 mostly because I’m so un-coordinated the stress got to me. After trying it a few times I mostly get it now.

I did the Nano release of Grit last night and I felt my whole bottom half the moment I woke up this morning 😂

EasterIssland · 03/03/2021 08:27

I bought a step yesterday and will take it easy so I don’t injure the back. Thanks all!

Pebbledashery · 03/03/2021 10:08

I did step 101 today because I had pizza for my tea last night and needed to sweat it out :) - step makes me want to cry when I don't feel co-ordinated enough to keep up with cha cha cha or hopping etc ! it's still a very good workout though.
Back to combat tomorrow!

HermioneWeasley · 03/03/2021 11:14

Did 10 mins of grit nano to warm up and then bodypump 111 this morning

ilovetomatoes · 03/03/2021 21:04

How quickly did you start see results with bobypump and how many sessions per week? I got my bar today! Exciting!

Peachypips78 · 04/03/2021 10:48

Might try step then off the back of this! Is there jumping?

I'd like to know that too @ilovetomatoes

TabbyStar · 04/03/2021 10:57

There's optional jumping in step. I like it because you get a good/better cardio workout just from going up and down rather than lots of high impact (particularly pertinent as I seemed to have, erm, pelvic floor issues with attack yesterday!)

HGC2 · 04/03/2021 11:57

Had anyone found a reasonably priced step that is long enough for lying on in pump?

rosettesforjill · 04/03/2021 12:04

@HGC2

The Amazon Basics one is long enough for me although I am only 5'3". I could ideally do with a couple more risers for it but it's ok for now.
sociallydistained · 04/03/2021 12:19

I’ve done the nano pump and Grit now. Really “enjoyed” the grit. Pump was good too, I’m feeling it in my shoulders. Like a previous poster said, the music isn’t as great as other pump releases but it’s fun for what it is.

Will try the nano Core at the weekend!

PS. My step is small and not very long but I manage lol. I had a longer step for years but it finally snapped and when I replaced it I didn’t even look at the length. Mines a basic cheap one from Amazon but it’s definitely a lot shorter but not so bad that I feel I need to desperately replace it... I’d like to get a Reebok one at some point though!
