Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

Upsidedownrightnow · 05/06/2020 14:54

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

@Pebbledashery It took me just over an hour alone and I’m so proud of that. I could of waited for my partner to help me but I didn’t and the fact I didn’t cry once as usually happens when I attempt anything DIY tells me anyone could do it 😂

EasterIssland · 26/02/2021 10:08

if anyone likes sweaty Betty they've got discounts today .

rosettesforjill · 26/02/2021 10:29
@rosettesforjill they do tend to come in two separate packages but I can't imagine they're far behind!
They've arrived this morning! Now I have to decide if I'm doing another challenge or improvise from next week Smile

nbee84 · 26/02/2021 10:46

I've just done The Trip #21 - I am one big sweaty mess 🥵😆

kittykarate · 26/02/2021 15:31

Been to a physio today about my dodgy hip - looks like no LMOD for me for a while, which is a bit sad.

I can't work out if it was caused by Body Pump (I'd just upped my weight slightly), doing Body Combat barefoot (because I had blisters) or just shitty luck. I'll just have to take my recovery steady.

@rosettesforjill glad they arrived Grin we have 2 sets of these now.
I've been deciding my own classes... I've done body combat x3, body pump and core this week. Really should have been 2 pump and 2 combat but I'm really enjoying combat at the moment so figure I'll just go with the flow. Still want to fit in barre and maybe the occasional balance...

kittykarate · 26/02/2021 17:23

Ooh good news that your weight plates have arrived Rosettes you must be so excited.

MsMartini · 27/02/2021 08:38

@kittykarate oh no, what does the physio think you did?

kittykarate · 27/02/2021 09:07
@kittykarate oh no, what does the physio think you did?
He wasn't very detailed, but it sounds like a ligament tear in my hip flexor region. To be honest he was reluctant to do anything more than massage and gentle manipulation to try and ease things. Next week will be when he can do the big leg waving and poking to work out what I've done.

Anyway, it has eased a bit, just got to keep up with the stretch regimen and massage.

MsMartini · 27/02/2021 09:25

Good luck @kittykarate - it is so frustrating to have to stop exercising when you have found something you like!

Peachypips78 · 28/02/2021 17:29

Funnily enough @kittykarate I have also got something wrong in the hip flexor area. I did it running which is why I started doing Les mills again instead.

I saw the physio on Fri and I am doing stretches, clams and raises. She said squats and lunges are ok if you are careful but to stay low impact.

I find that it's worst when I get up in the morning and I'm quite stiff. I limp when walking and it's worse going downhill!

kittykarate · 01/03/2021 09:00

Aw @Peachypips78, we're two hobblers together!

I'm not sure what did mine in - could have been a slip or trip or just getting old. I do naturally have very tight quads, so maybe they've been giving it too much oppositional pull.

I did a bit much yesterday (changed the quilt cover!) so I'm very sore today. I haven't even tried walking outdoors yet, the stairs are enough of a challenge for me.

Peachypips78 · 01/03/2021 12:37

I think mine is a hip flexor slight tear or strain, or ligament damage. I did it four weeks ago and it's just in the last two days improving a bit. Hope yours gets better soon!

kittykarate · 01/03/2021 12:55

The physio said pretty much the same to me 'feels like a hip flexor tear or ligament damage' but he wasn't able to diagnose further. Honestly, mine has improved so much over the past 10 days, and I just need to keep reminding myself or I'll get a bit glum. For about a week I couldn't stand up long enough to wait for a kettle to boil without lightning bolt pain from the gods, and climbing stairs was kind of an all fours bear crawl affair. Now I can stand up for whole minutes at a time. I've been doing self massage using some golf balls in a sock and heat packs on the hip, and also doing some really tiny stretches.

Pebbledashery · 01/03/2021 14:25

Does anyone do body step?, I got my step delivered today.. My weights and bar will come later in the week. Was going to try body step tomorrow..

Yes! I love Bodystep Grin
Pebbledashery · 01/03/2021 15:21

I do body attack.. But I worry I won't be coordinated enough for body step 🤣. I'll give it a go tomorrow. It looks like a good workout.

rosettesforjill · 01/03/2021 15:37

I am incredibly uncoordinated (Sh'Bam is absolute carnage for me) but I manage to get enough of it to get a good workout. With some adaptations where necessary!

Pebbledashery · 01/03/2021 15:49

Hehe ill try tomorrow then. Was initially going to use the step for body pump but I now have an additional use for body step 👍

EasterIssland · 01/03/2021 16:04

@Pebbledashery which steps id you go for? I'm in the hunt for some

Pebbledashery · 01/03/2021 16:08

I went for this one

www.networldsports.co.uk/metis-fitness-step-black-grey.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAvvKBBhCXARIsACTePW80raWdClH4bM68EEZ37KG3TLutAyDPh2_U1YzvGcgvDpppqMnQVSQaAnh2EALw_wcB

There was an offer on last week with the step and barbell and weights which I snapped up.

The barbell and weights are on pre order though but the step arrived today. If looks quite neat.

I have an Amazon Basics one which is cheap and cheerful! I'm sure more expensive versions will be better though Wink

EasterIssland · 01/03/2021 16:49

Thank you both !

Pebbledashery · 01/03/2021 16:52

Amazon basics one is pretty much the same as what I have just different brand 😊
