Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

I started again in the autumn but I have a hip injury and can't do most of the cardio. But the DCs are in my face the whole time anyway. Jealous of those doing it now!

Day 2 done today - I think every other day is as reasonable as it’s going to get. Definitely a bit easier in the mornings, it’s just hauling oneself out of bed and getting the sports bra on 🙄

I’ve signed up for the app subscription-my (Poor) excuse is always that it’s a pain to get the dvd and wait for it to load so I’m hoping that having it all on my phone will make it easier to just do a workout there and then.
I do love Jillian. I got a reply from her on a Webchat on here once and was happy for days!

My five year old likes to tell me 'i don't want to see any of this!' I love Gillian - six week six pack was giving me actual abs. Then I fell pregnant and switched back to 30 day, which i did throughout pregnancy. I'm not allowed to do any of it now until i get the ok from the dr - cannot wait!

I’m doing this with DD (9), who refuses to have any truck with Joe Wicks but acknowledges that she does need to do some exercise. We’re onto level 3 from tomorrow, heaven help us. I used to be on the JM threads on here years ago and it’s amazing how much I remember. (DD is doing the exercises either with no weights or with dinky little 0.5kg ones that I managed to get online for her, I’m using 3 kg where I can and 2 kg the rest of the time.) I appear to have no anterior deltoids, the chair squats with a V-raise in L2 are my nemesis.

This has made me chuckle - I'm on day 9 of level 2 and it's so much harder than it was when I did it years ago! Agree chair squats with a v raise are torture, especially after the leg lift ones! And then doing plank jacks I do jumping jacks then. DD 17 does it with me and still remembers Jill's expressions from when she was small - we always yell "no you cannot"! Think it's helping the dinner lady arms but dreading level 3 as I could never do it properly in my 30s let alone now!

I've just done 5th session of level 3. Those jumping lunges aren't getting any easier. Natalie and Anita's souls look like they've been torn out.

I only got up to day 15 and had to throw in the towel, my God it's so boring! I used to easily manage all 30 days when I did it years ago but not anymore...

Back on the 20 min HIIT videos with 10 mins abs thrown in for good measure.

I miss the gym!!! 😟

Yesbutno, oddly I can do the plank jacks, it's the squat thrusts that really get me. I think L2 is the absolute worst, even if L3 does have the jumping lunges.

Stealth, no shame in being an Anita - respect for doing it at all! One of the things that reliably winds me up is when JM points at the Amazonian fitness professional Natalie and says "if she can do it, you can do it". Well, actually I can't, funnily enough, being a sedentary middle-aged woman rather than a fitness goddess.
