Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

Nice one @TinyHouseFan and @roonetta!

30DS L2 D2 done 👍
And because I'm clearly deranged, I added on level 7 of NMTZ at the end. L2 wasn't quite as bad as I remembered, but still tough. I also felt dizzy after the neck circles in the warm up @roonetta. And I'd forgotten about that ridiculous military press whilst balancing on one leg mullarkey. Urgh!

Also done today
Strength - Stronger P3 Workout 2

My legs are absolutely knacking me! 😭

Oh blimey - sorry about the double post. Stupid Microsoft updates lagging my laptop, so I thought it hadn't posted first time round.

ilovecardigans · 03/11/2020 22:08

Really sorry about the double post. Stupid Microsoft updates lagging my laptop and I thought it hadn't posted first time round

ilovecardigans · 03/11/2020 22:11

Aaaaargh - I hate Windows!!!! 🤬

AAAAAARGH!!!!! I hate Windows!!!!!!!! 🤬

TinyHouseFan · 04/11/2020 09:07

Don't worry Cardigans, we all hate technology some times.. There are definitely days I think I'm going back to a pencil and paper Grin

Well done on adding the extra workout, I did that once.. never again!

WO10 done here...

OublietteBravo · 04/11/2020 09:14

I did Ri30 L2D4 yesterday evening.

roonetta · 04/11/2020 13:48

Hehe, loved the double postings cardigans Grin. Well done on the extra circuits!

Getting ever closer to the end Tiny! Have you decided what you are going to do when it's all over?

30DS L3 (D9) done.

CalmConfident · 04/11/2020 19:09

I have been feeling poorly so having a couple of days rest, will jump back in with you at 30DS L2 in the next round!

Fabulous soup everyone!

CalmConfident · 04/11/2020 19:10

Soup? Job!

OublietteBravo · 04/11/2020 19:40

A somewhat reluctant Ri30 L2D5.

roonetta · 04/11/2020 20:01

Get well soon calm Flowers. Some chicken soup might be just what you need Grin

It might have been reluctant Oubliette but you got it done ✅

TinyHouseFan · 04/11/2020 20:42

I finished this evening with a 6km run too, just in case.

Hi Roonetta, not sure what's next. At the moment, I'm thinking of a break but I hope I'll find some other motivation in a couple of weeks.. I'm afraid to do some of the six week programmes mentioned here, they all sound intense. But I'd love to be "fit", you know, proper fit, not feeling like an imposter, just getting this done. I hate thinking that I'm just doing this to do it, it's definitely not a way of life yet.

ilovecardigans · 04/11/2020 22:44

Evening lovely ladies! Once again, so sorry about the duplicate posts yesterday. I'm having to type this on my tablet because that stupid Windows 10 update has completely locked up my laptop. DH (IT whizzkid) is home from work now & trying to sort it. Good job I don't need it for work, or I'd have been in a pickle today. A thousand curses on you Microsoft!👿

Well done all of you on your exertions, but sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather Calm. Get well soon. 🌹

Gosh, Tiny you definitely sound proper fit to me! It certainly wouldn't hurt to have a few days break and think about what you fancy doing for your next challenge. There's so much out there online and much of it free. I've tried various different instructors, sites & DVDs since my gym shut - some great, some not so great. You just need to find something that suits you and fits in with your lifestyle. I'm thinking about trying Caroline Girvan's 'Epic' programme (10 weeks - 4 days weights, 1 day HIIT) in the new year.

30DS L3 D3 done 👍

No extras today as very sore and tired. Clearly not as fit as I thought I was...

TinyHouseFan · 05/11/2020 10:59

Thanks Cardigans, I may sound fit but I don't feel it! I just saw on another thread that you walked a marathon last year. Do you mind me asking how long that took please? I'm wondering if I should look for a half marathon next year to run/walk...
I need something in the future to motivate me to work towards.

WO9 done for the last time today..

ilovecardigans · 05/11/2020 14:45

Hi Tiny. I did the Edinburgh Kilt walk 'Mighty Stride' in September 2018 with one of my work colleagues. It was a brilliant experience, but the weather was somewhat unhelpful shall we say! It took a lot longer than I would have liked (about 9 hours), as my colleague really struggled with the last 5 miles and we were going at a snails pace. I reckon if I'd been on my own I could have done it in about 6 or 7 hours.

I was used to walking around 20-30 miles a week anyway, but from April I started doing longer walks at weekends & on my days off. My longest training walk was about 14 miles, but I managed the actual walk easily (anti-blister socks & well worn in trainers were a big help) and only felt a wee bit of stiffness in my right thigh. Having a focus/goal really helped me to do more walking and I really loved the feeling when I completed the challenge.

I would say go for it! Hopefully there will be events to enter next year. 🏃

roonetta · 05/11/2020 15:20

Did you have your virtual run today Tiny? How did you get on? A walking marathon sounds like a great challenge and would definitely be something to aim for.

I am so impressed and slightly in awe at your walking cardigans. I thought I was awesome when I do a 5 mile ‘Walk with Leslie’ Blush

30DS L1 (D10) done ✅

ilovecardigans · 05/11/2020 22:40

Oh gosh, thank you, roonetta. Honestly, it was much more achievable than you might think. Having company helped massively, as the time (and the miles) fairly flew by. Don't sell yourself short, though - a five mile walk is a bloomin' good achievement by anyone's standards.

30DS L1 D4 done 👍
Followed by NMTZ L7, some weighted glute bridges and 10 mins hula hooping.

LISS - 5.5 mile brisk walk.

Will do L2 & L3 tomorrow & Sat and have my rest day on Sunday

AlgonquinBay · 06/11/2020 07:40

Hi all!

Interested to find this thread as I have started the 30 Day Shred yesterday as my lockdown challenge!

Did Level 1 yesterday and although it was easier than I remember I am aching this morning. Can't decide whether to stick with level 1 for 10 days or rotate between 1,2 and 3 to keep it interesting. Will decide soon!!

roonetta · 06/11/2020 16:26

Come and join us @AlgonquinBay 😃. We have been rotating between the levels and I quite like doing it this way as I haven’t felt bored of it yet.

Rest day for me today as back in the office.

Hope you are on the mend @CalmConfident

AlgonquinBay · 06/11/2020 18:08

Decided to alternate between the 3 so Day 2 and L2 complete - that was hard work Blush!
L3 tomorrow....

ilovecardigans · 06/11/2020 19:12

Hurrah - welcome to the merry band of masochists @AlgonquinBay!

I'm so, so tired today. Have slept really badly the last 2 nights (husband works for Argos...) and I did another 5.5 mile walk today. I could easily just lie down on the sofa and conk out right now. But, determined to tackle 30DS evil L2 before he gets home, then we'll have a couple of beers and watch The Mandalorian.

ilovecardigans · 06/11/2020 22:15

Bloody evil 30DS L2 D5 done. 👍

Hated it tonight. Absolutely no energy and really struggled, but it's done. See how I feel tomorrow, as I may need to take a day off before tackling L3 for the second time this week. I think I've also pulled a muscle in my left thigh. I need beer... 🍺🍺🍺

CalmConfident · 07/11/2020 08:18

No workouts for me, but great to see everyone else has been busy bossing it! Drank too much and stayed up too late watching the US election, but am feeling a little better

Keep up the great work you wonderful folk Smile
