Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

Morning ladies, well done on 30DS again, I'm kinda jealous I'm not doing that again right now.

I was supposed to start WO9 this morning but as it's a bank holiday here (Ireland) I have time so I did another 10km run. My work has a C25K program running right now so I'm aiming for a decent time for Niv 5th for the virtual run.

I'll do WO9 tomorrow.. and sadly no, Roonetta, my guns are tiny, despite the 5kg dumbbells Hmm

30DS L1 D1 done. Why does it still kill me? I find the first circuit of strength the hardest but managed to do proper pushups, yay! Followed up with a 3 mile boosted walk as I am off all week with the kids for half term so have the time.

Oooh I didn't know this thread existed. I was contemplating starting the 30DS again recently to get a bit of strength training in - I'm doing C25K as I am an out of shape runner.

In the end I decided 8 days at L1 of Ri30 was enough. So today I moved up to L2. I can still do the plank jack-mountain climber cardio circuit (yay), but I still don’t enjoy it!

Enjoyed the cardio, but the chair b lifts were tough. Finished with a meditation from the app which was lovely 😊

Haha Tiny, maybe I have selective amnesia about 9 and 10 Confused but I don’t recall hating it so assumed I must have liked them. Enjoy them now before you get to WO11!

30DS L2 D2 done. I know what you mean about those awful chair v lift things. Used my lightest weights and my arms were still burning. I think I have selective amnesia about level 3, but will find out tomorrow, gulp.

I managed rock star jumps 😊 It was a step up from L2, glad back to L1 tomorrow 😂

30DS L3 D3 done. I agree with @Todayisanewday75 that I preferred this more than L2. I managed to do everything properly for the first time ever, including the jumping lunges!

I’m also happy it’s back to L1 tomorrow Calm. I’m glad we are doing it this way, think I would be bored of doing the same level for 10 days in a row and we are working different muscles each day.

What way are you guys doing 30DS, is it L1, L2, L3, L1, etc? That sounds nice.. Does it feel effective?

BR Cardio 3 done today..and it is as "vicious" as Jillian says it is. Good fun though.. Grin

30DS L1 D4 done. Glad you are enjoying it Calm. I am too. It was nice doing L1 today because I am surprisingly sore after workouts 2 and 3.

Yes that’s right Tiny. I like doing it this way, but time will tell after a week or so. Glad you enjoyed Cardio 3, but I agree it is vicious.

Good afternoon fellow masochists! Been reading this thread for ages, but never joined in until now.

I completed 30DS at the beginning of August and have been putting myself through various other forms of torture (NMTZ, Yoga Meltdown, assorted Les Mills, Gemma Atkinson Stronger) pretty much every day since. But nothing is as effective as 30DS, so...

I'm going to do it all again starting on 1st November on a 5 days on, 2 days off basis. So six weeks in all.

If anyone is daft enough to want to come along for the ride, I would welcome the company. If not, hope it's okay to just come on and log my sessions for accountability purposes and probably a bit of a moan along the way.

p.s. I'm not mad keen on cardio but love weight training

Welcome @ilovecardigans! 🤗. Sounds like you have been killing it these past few months, well done! I agree that 30DS is one of the best and have currently started it again with @CalmConfident but in a slightly different way, so levels 1, 2 and 3 and repeat. Liking doing it this way so far. We can keep you company when you start in a couple of days and we can all suffer the pain together. Cardio is definitely my least favourite too. Tiny is currently doing Body Revolution and that is one I would definitely recommend once you finish Shred.

Well done on doing RI30 Oubliette, even though you didn’t feel like it - I bet you felt better afterwards. I am feeling less like doing my workouts every day at the moment and don’t know why, but we keep going because we are awesome 😀

Many thanks for the warm welcome @roonetta. 😊 Would love to have your company whilst I torture myself! Your way of doing 30DS is very appealing, as I absolutely HATED L2 and the thought of 2 weeks of it is already depressing me... 😣

I went onto NMTZ after finishing my first 30DS but although I found it effective, it was just too long/tedious and I started dreading it, which is no good for me. I get bored really easily, so I've been mixing it up with different workouts and instructors, making sure I get at least 3 HIIT, 3 LISS & 3 weights sessions done each week.

Nothing works quite like Jillian though. She is the best IMO. Will definitely try Body Revolution after this 30DS (also toying with Lift and Shred). Aaaaand I found this on t'internet (it scares me!):

I’ve only ever watched Opus, but don’t think I will ever get these creaky old bones to do half of what they do. Maybe one day when I am feeling brave, I will have a go and see just how much of it I can’t do 🤣
