Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

Thanks @Todayisanewday75 that’s reassuring to hear. He’s always loved school so this is a whole new experience for us. I think the Covid measures haven’t helped. Keeping everything crossed he goes in okay today as I have to go into the office 😬

Rest day for me today.

TinyHouseFan · 15/10/2020 11:23

You all have better memories than me, I'm usually a bit surprised at the exercises, even though I might have just done the same circuit 5 minutes ago! I never remember anything of any workout so it's all new and exciting every day and I'm not dreading any particular exercise.

Did a 5km run last night and WO7 this morning..

OublietteBravo · 15/10/2020 20:24

Ri30 L1D4. How many days of each level shall I do? (Since 30 isn’t divisible by 4). I suppose 8 days makes most sense.

TinyHouseFan · 16/10/2020 09:11

I was out last night, sitting outside for a chilly dinner but I had 3 glasses of wine so I managed to get up and do WO8 but I definitely "phoned it in" today!

Oubliette, does the DVD not tell you how many days? Are you just supposed to guess? Or, is it a bit like 30DS, you just do what everyone on the web says to do and do 10, 10 and 10?

Todayisanewday75 · 16/10/2020 09:27

@OublietteBravo I assumed the 30 meant 30 minute workouts, not the length of the plan. I’ve never finished it before but I planned on either doing 10 days of each level or moving up if I felt like I’d mastered a level.

roonetta · 16/10/2020 11:55

I read somewhere that Jillian meant for the Ripped levels to be done 5-6 times per week each with 1 or 2 rest days and then move up to the next level. I definitely only did level 3 for 5 days Grin

Well done on getting WO8 done Tiny, at least it wasn't WO7's turn!

BR WO11 killed me today. I don't know why but I was sooo out of breath. That WO is done for the last time.

roonetta · 17/10/2020 12:47

WO12 done for the last time. Cardio tomorrow and this programme is done.

I am going to delay Body Shred because my knees are really complaining with all the plyo moves. Going to look at Lift and Shred for a while and start Body Shred once the knees have settled down.

TinyHouseFan · 17/10/2020 18:15

Wow, Roonetta, one day left, good luck with it. Did you enjoy it or would you say you just made yourself do it for 3 months? I'm quite enjoying it and I'm definitely seeing upper body and core results. I don't necessarily see any difference in my legs, but then Ive been cycling 60km a week for 5 years so I guess my legs are in OK shape already.

I was up this morning for cardio 2 but skipped it for a 10km run (made it under the hour, barely at 59:51!) followed by a 2 hour hike with my Beaver Scouts. Fitbit says I've done 25k steps so I'm sitting on my bum for the rest of the day. BrewCake

roonetta · 17/10/2020 20:06

Thanks Tiny I can honestly say I have really enjoyed it, especially once I switched out Jillian’s cardio 🤣. My knees have really felt it the last month though, but I would definitely do it over again once they are less sore. I agree in seeing a definite difference in my arms and shoulders and I have lost a lot of weight from my midsection.

I’m impressed with the 10k run in under an hour and the 25k steps! I would be sitting on my bum as well 😁

roonetta · 18/10/2020 12:01

Finished BR with a Sweaty Betty cardio workout by Simone which I found on YouTube and liked the look of. Had abs, arms and butt sections in also and it was fun.

Going to do Lift and Shred levels 1 and 2 next week with a cardio day and repeat.

TinyHouseFan · 18/10/2020 20:50

Congratulations Roonetta, you did it! Well done, I'm delighted for you.

So, Lift and Shred next week, no break? That's dedicated, I'm impressed.

Rest day here, kids all over the place with Halloween requests so we baked cookies, iced strawberries, carved pumpkins.. I kept thinking I'd like a half hour to myself with out hearing "mom" so I could go for a run, but no joy.
And I have a college assignment due shortly so gotta work on that as soon as kids in bed.
Ah well, tomorrow is back to BR, WO 9 I think..

roonetta · 19/10/2020 12:33

Thanks Tiny - don't be too impressed; I feel like I have to keep going or I will stop Grin. Can't even allow myself a break I'm afraid. Level 1 of Lift & Shred felt like a bit of a break to be honest, compared with BR. I didn't even break a sweat and that was using my heaviest 10lb weights. It's because there is no jumping around in it which will be good for my knees.

You sound like you had a crazy weekend with all the baking and carving. My kids seemed to have passed the stage of wanting to do this any more and I am secretly pleased (how bad is that?!).

Only one more month of BR for you! Have you thought about what you would like to do next?

TinyHouseFan · 20/10/2020 21:50

I was tired this morning so stayed in bed and skipped my WO. Going to bed now so I'll be fresh for WO7 again in the morning. I should have just gotten up as I felt bad that I skipped it and then stressed from Covid lockdown starting again and I've eaten 6 chocolate rice cakes and a mini Mars bar.

Keep it up Roonetta, you'll be glad every time you exercise that you did..

TinyHouseFan · 21/10/2020 12:40

I did BR WO8 today, the one I skipped yesterday and so I skipped the cardio 2 I should have done today. I'll do a 5km run this evening though so that should make up for it and get me back on track.

How's Lift & Shred Roonetta?

Anyone else making progress, Oubliette, Today, Hermoine?

roonetta · 21/10/2020 13:46

Well done Tiny for getting it done Smile

I like Lift & Shred. Did level 2 today and I was a little more out of puff than level 1, although not the usual gasping for breath you get with Jillian. I feel like it isn't enough of a workout if that makes sense and so I added in a 2 mile boosted walk with Leslie as well. Did a 4 mile boosted walk yesterday too. I am chuffed I have managed to use my 5kg weights as there is no way I could use them for BR!

TinyHouseFan · 21/10/2020 21:41

5km run done, in 29.57 minutes so just made my sub 30 goal!
Roonetta, I only have 5kgs dumbbells so I have to use them for BR. I can manage most exercises with them but there's definitely a few that I stop way before Jillian in reps and put the weights down and do the last few reps empty handed. But there's a few I do with 5kgs and they are only doing with 3lbs..Wink

roonetta · 22/10/2020 18:15

Well done on your goal Tiny. I am still in shock that you use 5kg for BR!! Wow! Your guns must be huge 😁

4 mile boosted walk for me today. Knee is feeling better already.

CalmConfident · 24/10/2020 10:13

Hooray, you are all still here and being awesome by the looks of things Smile

Restarted life with Jillian gently today - 7 minute Abs plus a meditation from the App.

Not sure where to pick up from - not Ri30 L4 that’s for sure after 2 months of nothingGrin Maybe do 30DS again? What do you think?

roonetta · 24/10/2020 11:43

Hi Calm, nice to see you back! I did 30DS level 1 today as I didn’t feel that lift and shred was enough of a workout for me. I can’t believe how it kicked my butt. I think I am going to do level 1, 2 and 3 and repeat rather than 10 days on each level so if you decide to do it, we can be 30DS buddies 😁

CalmConfident · 24/10/2020 12:16

Thanks @roonetta that would be fabulous! Just the encouragement and accountability I need right now StarSmile

roonetta · 24/10/2020 17:52

Yay that’s fab Calm - it will really help me too. When are you starting? I am happy to do my day one again so we are in sync. I was thinking of doing it 6 days a week but let me know what you think ❤️

TinyHouseFan · 24/10/2020 19:44

Welcome back Calm, I love 30DS so that gets my vote to start back to, especially with the sequence suggested by Roonetta (hello! Smile)

I skipped Cardio 2 here today but did a 10km run in the dark and the rain at 7am this morning so feel justified. Rest day tomorrow then starting level 9 of BR, the furthest I got last time. Hope its not as bad as WO7!

CalmConfident · 25/10/2020 09:24

I was planing to start tomorrow - does that work ?

roonetta · 25/10/2020 12:50

Yep that’s fine with me Calm. I will start my day 1 tomorrow too. I will have a rest day a week so have calculated that 28th November will be 30 days for me ☺️

roonetta · 25/10/2020 12:53

Hi Tiny - I think a 10k run more than makes up for cardio 2 and I suspect was a lot more enjoyable, even in the dark and rain. I liked WO9 and 10 so hope you do too ☺️
