Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

In denial about Christmas - we need a fingers in the ears emoticon!

Glad you managed a run @CalmConfident.

6W6P L1D2 done. I don’t much like the format of this one, I think I find shorter circuits psychologically easier.

roonetta · 28/08/2020 14:02

Great news on the run and squats CalmConfident - nothing worse than being laid up when you want to be active.

I have only done 6W6P once. She does the same long circuit twice doesn't she? The psychological side of working out is more of a problem than the physical side I find.

BR WO6 done. Finding it harder to motivate myself to do the workouts at the moment. Not sure if it's down to summer coming to an end or the kids going back to school soon but I hope I can find my mojo before I start making excuses! Sad

roonetta · 29/08/2020 15:43

BR cardio 2 done today. Much better this time round.

TinyHouseFan · 30/08/2020 20:21

I'm starting Body Revolution again in the morning, took a break in July at week 7 so just gonna start again at level 1 and work back up again.

I only have one set of dumbbells, a 5kgs/ 11lbs set so I have to use them for everything. Some exercises are easy and some are impossible at that weight.
I also don't have a cable so I try and use a flexible belt thing I have or skip it and do another exercise for those ones.

My goal is to be stronger by Xmas, but I don't know how to test this/measure it. Maybe like I can do about 3 real push ups now so aim for 10 or a 2 minute plank or to get through level 12 without dying. Any suggestions?

TinyHouseFan · 31/08/2020 09:57

So, BR workout 1 done and for good measure, I did workout 2 as well! Can barely hold my forearms up enough to type, but I'm sure that will ease as the morning goes by 😀.

I'm 9 St, 3lbs this morning. I was 9 stone on the morning of my wedding and my 9th anniversary is in 17 days so I plan to lose 3 lbs in the next 2 weeks. After that, I am aiming to just stay around 9 stone.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 31/08/2020 10:41

6W6P L1D3 done. I think the problem with the longer circuit is knowing that the moves I hate most are coming round again and I can't get through the circuit and move on. It's also no fun doing some of the moves twice on each side instead of once as in Shred and Ripped (my nemesis is the side plank with knee raise, my balance isn't brilliant and I'm wobbling all over the place!).
Respect @TinyHouseFan! I couldn't contemplate two JM workouts in one day.

roonetta · 31/08/2020 15:28

OMG @TinyHouseFan! Back to back Jillian is no joke - hat’s off to you. My goal weight is in the 9s but I have a bit more than 3lbs to lose 😳

BR workout 5 done. Not sure why but workout 5 seems so long.

CalmConfident · 31/08/2020 18:03

Still no Jillian but managed a 10k run this morning. Arm feeling a bit better !

Well done to everyone, shiny new month tomorrow!!! Smile Let’s make it count !

roonetta · 01/09/2020 13:51

Yay on your arm getting better @CalmConfident and for carrying on with your running.

BR WO6 done and a 10 minute walk with Leslie afterwards just for the hell of it Grin

TinyHouseFan · 01/09/2020 19:52

BR WO 2 done again this morning, just the one session today, I realised too late that I'm not fit enough for two sessions on my first day back at it- my hamstrings are aching all day!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 02/09/2020 08:49

6W6P L1D4 done. This really isn’t growing on me. I skipped yesterday as it was a bike to work day.

Well done on the run, @CalmConfident, I could no more run 10K than I could fly.

roonetta · 02/09/2020 13:44

@TinyHouseFan was it your cardio day today? How did it go?

Sorry you aren't liking 6W6P Professor Sad Are you planning on doing it for 3 weeks and then moving up to level 2?

Did a 20 minute walk with Leslie this morning when our work systems were down and BR cardio 2. Hot sweaty mess now Grin

TinyHouseFan · 02/09/2020 15:15

Hi Roonetta, I'm embarrassed to say that I just couldn't get out of bed this morning! My husband went for a bike ride at 6.30am and I was supposed to get up and do my cardio. I snoozed until about 7.15am then got up with the kids...

Maybe this evening I'll be able to face it. I really don't want to skip a day this early in my plan.

TinyHouseFan · 02/09/2020 22:12

Cardio 1 done Roonetta! That'll teach me to skip a morning session... It's so much harder to turn it on at 10pm...

roonetta · 02/09/2020 22:20

Yesssss @TinyHouseFan!!!! Super impressed at you getting this done at this time of night Shock. Mind you I don’t think I could drag myself out of bed at 6:30 either so big respect to you 😀

TinyHouseFan · 03/09/2020 08:12

Right, 4km run and BR WO1 done... That's a better start to the day!

roonetta · 03/09/2020 14:32

Well done Tiny!

BR WO5 done for the last time - whoop!

TinyHouseFan · 04/09/2020 08:37

WO2 done, just some cardio in the morning and that's week 1 down, 11 to go..

I thought that as I'd done weeks 1-6 in June/July that it would be easier but nope, back to square one I'm afraid. Oh well, at least I can admire my tiny fledgling triceps again. 🏋️‍♀️

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 04/09/2020 10:00

I've had a fail this week; school restarted yesterday and I meant to get up and do 6W6P before I woke DD up. Didn't happen, abject failure! The plan was to keep going with L1 for about 10 sessions and then give L2 a try, but if L2 is even more miserable I might switch to a different DVD.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 04/09/2020 10:00

Well done to those who are sticking with it!

roonetta · 04/09/2020 13:17

Grin at your tiny fledgling triceps @TinyHouseFan

I'm having school re-starts this week too Professor and I know I wouldn't be able to commit to exercising before the madness begins each morning. I suspect it's even harder to motivate yourself because you aren't loving the workout Sad I have heard people say that L2 is really fast paced which might suit you better.

Rest day for me today as I am in the office. WO6 and one more cardio to go and then I move up to workouts 7 and 8 - gulp!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 05/09/2020 09:34

6W6P L1D5 done. I’ll keep going for another week and then switch to L2. I’m not doing it nearly as often as she says, but it would drive me nuts to do it five times a week, and I am getting some decent cardio in as well by cycling to work.

TinyHouseFan · 05/09/2020 11:14

BR cardio 1 and a 7km run done. That's me done for the week, afternoon tea with my friend and our daughters today, then wine for us tonight. Day off exercise tomorrow.

How are you doing Roonetta?

Professor, I'm mostly doing JM as I used to cycling about 60km a week for my commute but that's been over since March. I find it's so much easier to have to cycle to get to work, than to want to cycle to exercise..

How's the arm CalmConfident?

roonetta · 05/09/2020 11:34

Sorry, don’t know what happened there, I’ll try again...

Looks like everyone is getting some awesome exercise in for September. Well done to us!

God knows how you manage a 7km run after doing cardio 1 @TinyHouseFan. That’s dedication right there. I have just finished WO6 for the last time. Cardio tomorrow and then I’m halfway through!

Hope you enjoy L2 @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson.

Also hoping your arm is improving @CalmConfident Flowers

roonetta · 05/09/2020 11:35
