Ri30 L4 D3 done ✅
TakeBack2020 Challenge Day 7 done ✅

Challenge was yoga today, so hard !

Thank you @roonetta Blush

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 20/08/2020 08:38

RI30 L4D5 done. Biked to work on Monday, and Tuesday and Wednesday I felt too feeble for Jillian and did some yoga instead. I’m wondering what to do next, the moment may have come to tackle 6W6P.

roonetta · 20/08/2020 11:37

Unplanned rest day for me today. I have done something to my lower back and got no sleep last night due to shooting pains in all directions whichever way I led. It is so sore today and radiates into both hips. I am not sure if it was the cardio yesterday or sitting on the floor playing a board game with my daughter afterwards. A bit of both I suspect. Rest, heat and ice today. What is wrong with me at the moment?! Pfft Angry

Todayisanewday75 · 21/08/2020 07:40

That sounds painful @roonetta. I sympathise, happens to me every now and then for no apparent reason. I find Yoga with Adriene’s lower back video helps

CalmConfident · 21/08/2020 08:02

Ri30 L4 D4 done ✅

Hope you slept well and feel a little better today @roonetta,

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 21/08/2020 09:12

RI30 L4D6 done here. I've decided to start 6W6P next week on days when I'm not biking to work.

I hope you feel better today, roonetta. Lower back pain is the pits.

roonetta · 21/08/2020 13:42

Thanks for your kind words everyone. Feeling a little less sore today and got some much needed sleep last night.

Thanks for the tip @Todayisanewday75 - I just finished a hip and lower back Yoga with Adriene video and it was lovely and I do feel a difference. Will definitely be using her videos again.

Enjoy 6W6P @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson. Have only done level 1 of that once but enjoyed it. Never attempted level 2 as heard it was extremely fast paced. Will revisit if I ever get to finish BR!

roonetta · 22/08/2020 12:21

Did a ‘Walking with Leslie’ workout from YouTube today. 30 mins of nice gentle walking which was way less brutal than Jillian but I worked up a nice sweat. Will do again tomorrow and hope to be back on BR on Monday.

roonetta · 23/08/2020 14:19

Team Body Project low impact cardio workout today

Back still a little sore although mostly feeling it in my left hip now 🤨 but I am back with Jillian tomorrow and will start week 5 again from scratch.

roonetta · 24/08/2020 13:51

Back to BR phase 2 WO5 today. Does it take anyone else 10 minutes to get into the workout? I always feel like giving up as it's too hard for the first 10 minutes but after that I am fine. What's that about? Also, I thought JM said "three" while we were doing speed rope, expecting 2 and 1 to follow and the move to be finished, when in fact she said "breathe" and there was another 20 seconds left Angry - harsh

Are you starting 6W6P today @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson?

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 24/08/2020 16:09

Tomorrow! I'm in work today and it's a two-hour round trip by bike, so that feels like enough exercise for one day.

CalmConfident · 24/08/2020 20:24

I have had a set back Sad

Trapped a nerve in my neck (c5 according to the osteopath) and have horrid pain in my shoulder, upper arm and elbow - it’s like a hot toothache sort of feeling. No lifting Weights or using that arm for at least a couple of weeks while it recovers.

I suspect the culprit of injury was superman with weights in Ri30 L4 :(

Any suggestion of how I keep up progress ?

roonetta · 25/08/2020 07:28

Ouch @CalmConfident that sounds painful. I always have to drop to my lowest weight for superman but still feel it pulls my back. Are there any workouts on YouTube just for lower body? Can you move your arm at all? I did a “Walking with Leslie” workout last week which was nice and gentle but she does do some arm movements although they aren’t fast or jarring. An exercise bike would be good if you have access to one. I made sure I kept moving because I know I will stop working out if I have too much time off. Sorry if I can’t offer the answer, I’m sure the others will have some great advice. Get well soon ❤️

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 25/08/2020 08:56

Flowers, @CalmConfident. That sounds miserable. I hope it eases off soon. Maybe some gentle standing yoga poses and stretches? Can you ride a bike or is the arm too sore to hold the handlebars?

6W6P L1D1 done here. Not quite as bad as I feared - possibly my rather half-hearted and sporadic yoga practice is doing more for my core strength than I sometimes think, and it’s certainly strengthened my wrists. But the proof will be in how I feel tomorrow morning!

roonetta · 25/08/2020 17:01

BR phase 2 workout 6 done. Going to do a lower impact cardio in place of Jillian’s cardio tomorrow as I am worried that is what put my back out.

roonetta · 25/08/2020 19:43

Meant to say well done on 6W6P Professor 😀

CalmConfident · 25/08/2020 20:11

Thanks folks :) Sadly, No cycling either...I had ignored it and did 30 miles on Sunday morning...that was not a good plan !

It is a bit easier today. I think a focus on squats awaits me !!! 😂

roonetta · 26/08/2020 13:53

@CalmConfident how are you today? Hope your arm/shoulder is on the mend Flowers

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson hope you weren't sore today after 6W6P.

Just did a 30 minute boosted walk with Leslie and clocked up 3,289 steps. Worked up a bit of a sweat. She is no Jillian but at least I didn't feel like I was going to injure myself!

Todayisanewday75 · 26/08/2020 16:37

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson I did a week of 6W6P then gave up, it wasn’t that I found it too hard but there was just something I didn’t like about it, never quite worked out what though. Hope you get more out of it than me.

Has anyone tried Yoga Meltdown? I’m planning ahead because I’ve got another 4 weeks on NMTZ, upping my weights as I go, but I like to have an idea of what I’m going to do next.

Todayisanewday75 · 26/08/2020 16:38

@CalmConfident how about lower body workouts with ankle weights?

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 27/08/2020 09:11

Checking in. I didn’t ache too badly from 6W6P, happily. But I didn’t do it today, DD decided to join me for the first time in a while and I’m not keen on her doing that one as it’s obsessed about weight loss and looks even by Jillian standards. We did the weights and yoga workouts from 10 minute Body Transformations.

@Todayisanewday75, I really like Yoga Meltdown. It’s a peculiar hybrid of yoga and circuit training, and I’m not very flexible so I struggle with some of the poses, but it’s weirdly satisfying. It’s also my go-to if I’m travelling because you don’t need any kit apart from a mat.

roonetta · 27/08/2020 13:58

BR WO5 done.

I have never done any of Jillian's yoga workouts purely because I am not a yoga fan. She did a yoga warm up in today's workout and I always feel like I never quite get the positions right.

TinyHouseFan · 27/08/2020 15:18

Well done Roonetta, you're sticking with it. How are enjoying BR?

I took a few days off in July but haven't managed to get back to it. I realised this morning that it's 120 days to Xmas so as BR is a 12 week/ 90 day plan, I'm getting back into it again, in time to be strong and lean for Christmas! Gonna do a few other bits and bobs till Monday, then start BR Workout 1 again Monday morning. I did a 5km run this morning too so my plan is a 5km run or 10 km cycle (there's a handy loop near my house that I run once or cycle twice) every week day.

I have some weight to lose but only about 5 lbs so no rush on that. I just want to get stronger.

I also bought a cheap chin up bar which I hung in my wardrobe so now I do a few hanging exercises every morning and evening when I'm grabbing/putting clothes away. Even after 2 weeks, I can almost do one full chin up! 🏋🏻‍♂️

roonetta · 27/08/2020 15:42

Hi @TinyHouseFan! Yay I will have a BR buddy ☺️

I’m enjoying it at the moment. Not too keen on cardio 2 as I think it contributed to a bad back and also there is a lot of jumping around which doesn’t suit this 49 year old’s pelvic floor muscles😳so have substituted for a lower impact cardio. I might woman up and give it another go on Saturday though. I hear the intensity level jumps quite a bit from level 7 so a bit worried that it is coming up.

Well done on the chin ups - I don’t think that’s something I will ever have the upper body strength for.

OMG - 120 days until Christmas!!!

CalmConfident · 27/08/2020 16:37

Thanks for all the encouragement and ideas you lovely people Smile Managed a run this morning and that was ok, so looking like that will be the plan...plus some squats !

Christmas 🎄 😱😱😱😱
