Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

I’m back with Jillian! Did BFBM on Monday and NMTZ yesterday. Neither was as tough as I remembered but BFBM did seem very long. I also couldn’t do the surrenders in NMTZ, didn’t feel right on my knees so I did forward lunges instead. BFBM again today

RI30 L3D5 done! DD didn’t get up in time so it was just me. No Jillian yesterday, but I did bike to work and back, so two hours of reasonable exercise.

@Todayisanewday75, you must have got fitter since you last did BFBM. I’m definitely fitter than I was last time I did Ripped, I found L3 quite tough then.

Hi @Todayisanewday75 Smile. Is BFBM the one where Jillian tells you "you are not even over half way yet!" and you feel like you want to kill her? If it is, i remember that one feeling extremely long. I love NMTZ though Smile.

BR phase 1 WO3 done. Got real sweaty today and have noticed a little puddle of sweat on my chair while I am typing this (at least I hope it's sweat Blush - WO3 does include jumping jacks).

@roonetta yes that's the one. Weirdly the intervals seem quite sure but the whole thing seems to last forever. I did enjoy NMTZ yesterday but could definitely feel it in my muscles this morning.

RI30 L3D6 done. Time to move on to L4, I think. Though DD has missed a few and is quite keen on this level, so perhaps I should keep on L3 for one more week.

LR has plié hops and scissor hops, if I remember rightly, and for some reason both are murder on my knees!

Roonetta, I am doing BR. Well, actually taking a few days off right now but was on level 7and 8. Felt the same as you after 30 Day Shred, that level 1-6 was "easy-ish". 7 and 8 changed my mind! They are hard but really enjoyable, if that's even a thing with Jillian. Keep going 👍

The August challenge is on the JM app.

I did day 1 but it was not challenging me, and it was a different format (sure it will get harder through the month) .

Want to keep progress going so switched back to Ri30z glad to hear l4 more fun as not loving L3 and struggling with some of the moves.

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson - yes you're right, scissor hops and burpees in the same cardio section which is a killer. Actually all of the cardio sections are a killer in L4 Hmm but while JM kicks your ass, I didn't find any of the moves complicated and enjoyed it more, even when I was gasping for breath .

@CalmConfident - I am the same as you with L3 - I never quite got the hang of a lot of the moves and was flapping around like a fish out of water for most of them. Felt I got a lot more out of L4 Smile. Shame about the August challenge Sad

RI30 L4D1 done - DD didn't get up so I didn't have any excuse to stay on L2. It's as hard on the knees as I remember. I don't know why, I don't normally have knee problems, but those scissor hops are hell.

Can anyone recommend next step up from 30 day shred? I want all over body toning if possible.

Hi @screamer1 - I think the natural progression is Ripped in 30. It follows the same 3-2-1 format as Shred but is definitely a step up. Another good one is No More Trouble Zones which is about 50 minutes and is all strength, no cardio or jumping around except for the warm up. Have you seen a difference from doing the Shred?
