Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

DD and I tried out RI30 L1 today, but only did one set of each exercise in each circuit. Starting properly tomorrow.

I'm starting 30DS again for the billionth time since downloaded it in 2012.

8 yrs on, I now feel that JM's No More Trouble Zones should include the Pelvic Floor. Jeez. Those jumping jacks. Who knew?

NMTZ done ✅ I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve done it but it’s been a few weeks. I weighed myself today and I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been non pregnant Shock

I started with this because despite running regularly I think I’m what you’d class as skinny fat - look fine in clothes, like cottage cheese in my underwear. So if this extra weight is muscle then great but at the moment it just feels alarming!!

@IsMiseMorag I have recollections of that exact same problem. I did 30DS a few years ago and I think it kind of improved over the weeks.

On the positive side of things, Jillian has inadvertently reminded me to dig out my Elvie pelvic floor trainer, so I'll just imagine her telling me not to phone in my squeezes while I'm doing it.

IsMiseMorag, I hear you about the pelvic floor! I keep seeing the Elvie trainer on FB. Is it any good? It's very €€€, so I'd hate to buy it and be disappointed.
I definitely find if I do my workout first thing in the morning and before coffee, then there's minimal leaks. After coffee, it's another story 😲

@HermioneWeasley, L1 of Ripped is about the same level as Shred L1. But I’ve done it before and she suddenly hits you with horrors in L2, and it gets worse from there.

I know exactly what you mean! JMs hair is so different in 30DS &Ri30 too..lots maybe some facial “work” in recent years ?

RI30 L1 D3 done. I looked up the dates and Shred and Ripped were made only two years apart (2009 and 2011), so it's odd that JM looks so different. In some of her more recent ones she's acquired some mildly terrifying highlights.

I gave up on 6W6P, not sure what it was about it but after ten days I realised I just didn’t like it. So I’ve gone back to Body Project for now but will give BFBM/NMTZ a go in the summer when home schooling is over and I have a bit more time

Well, I've hit my first target, one stone lost! I've been eating well, no/minimal crap, no alcohol during the week, smaller portions, etc.

Did a full 30 days of 30Day Shred, then started Body Revolution. I have taken a couple of additional rest days but overall, I'm enjoying it.

Plenty of variety which I like as I don't want to get bored but that means plenty of new exercises to learn and master the form, which is hard as I'm only a beginner.

It is a bit dated though, and her style definitely has it's critics. I have the full 12 weeks downloaded so I'll finish it, but does anyone have any suggestions for a follow up?

I like at home or park based workouts, preferably a woman trainer, not too shouty but encouraging, not too hard but challenging.. but I'm not fussy! Grin

Well done, @TinyHouseFan! A stone list is good going, especially in lockdown. I've lost 6lb by tracking everything I eat, and aiming to lose half a pound a week so I don't feel too deprived and miserable and fall off the wagon.

I'm doing Body Revolution through the app, just over a longer time frame than you're supposed to Grin. It's just stepped up to the 3rd section (day 40something) and it's got A LOT harder. I have gone back to having to modify/pause way more. Classic Jillian.

Thanks Prof, 6lbs is good going too, every lb is hard to lose!

I'm further back than you Debbie, at workout 3 and 4 for another few days. They're probably at just the right level for me, I can do most exercises with no modifications but there's a few that I can't keep up all the way through the set. I only have 5kg dumbbells so some of the arm raises/rows kill me after only a couple and I don't have a cable so I just make up something else for those.

@TinyHouseFan be warned! I would have said the same for those, my weights aren't even that heavy though and I do have a cable but it's just too horrible and demoralising when I inevitably fail so I don't use it Blush

There's a whole press-ups and other arm stuff in the beginning of the 3rd section that I'm just like....naaaaaah mate.
