Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

A bit scrappy this morning as was trying to be fancy and transmit from phone to tv, but it was a bit laggy and I had to keep faffing about with it. I subscribed to the app last week as could not get Ri30 on iTunes Grin

RI30 L3 D1 done. I'm mixing it up a bit as I get bored doing the same moves over and over again, so I'll do 30 days, but not necessarily in order! Not sure it's necessarily recommended, but makes it more interesting so more chance of sticking with it.

That was hard. Either that or my triceps are just a bit weedy...

@CalmConfident how are you finding the app? I have RI30 and 30DS on DVD so used to doing them on a big TV - can't quite imagine doing it from a small phone, but I do like the idea of being able to mix it up a bit more.

Still exploring the app, but it has all the dvds on there plus lots of extra new programmes. It does all the eating programmes too if you wants them. I do not have DVD player so been doing them on phone / iPad . You can link phone up to tv - I just need the DC to sort it out for me!!!

Thanks Professor. Unfortunately the tooth will be an ongoing, costly saga and jumping around makes it feel rather tender (I need to have it crowned so a few weeks till properly sorted). I should have done BFBM yesterday but couldn't face it and due to a full on day today I'm not sure I'll be exercising today either. Grrrrr. Thanks for the Killer Abs warning. Will not rush to buy!

Book and Calm well done on getting on with Ri30. I think I'll start it next week if my tooth pain resolves

Anyone tried Yoga Meltdown? I'm doing it alternate days with 6W6P on the other days. I'm really enjoying it, but it feels like less of a dynamic workout to her other DVDs? Everything is very slow and controlled! I am still sweating by the end though.

I like Yoga Meltdown, it’s one I keep coming back to. Really good for strength; I’ll finally know my upper body isn’t totally weedy any more when I can do two full sets of the chaturanga push-ups with the hold from L1. (Oddly I find L2 slightly easier, though I’ll never be able to do a wheel push-up: I don’t have the shoulder flexibility.)

I’m not convinced I’ll EVER be able to do it all, but I can feel I’m getting stronger, like my legs don’t wobble all over the place in all the lunges now. I even managed some of the arm moves as well today.

I'm doing about 15 minutes of the workout as i need to breathe inbetween each section!! I hate jump rope. I cant do reverse crunches and I definitely cant do that crunch thing at the end with my legs up.
But I'm consoling myself that 15 minutes is better than nothing and it WILL get easier in time. I will need to stay at level 1 for quite a few weeks though.

Went for 30DS L3 today as part of my mixing it up. I think RI30 is definitely harder but this was still a tough workout - lots of jumping which is never good.

Wally I'd echo that advice. I often need to take a break partway through but you'll be amazed what a difference even a week makes. I always challenge myself to try and do a bit more each time - e.g. day 1 I do 5 lunges then rest, then day 2 I'll try for 7 etc. Not pretending I always manage it, but that's the theory!

I liked L3 of 30DS far more than L2 - despite the jumping, I really noticed an improvement in my stability in L3 from D1 to d10

Has anyone tried Jillian’s Killer Body dvd? I’ve been having a look at her other ones and like the idea of just a half hour work out, but one that’s all strength. My plan was to do nmtz three times a week but I really like the idea of working out a little bit every day rather than a lot less often. I need something with no jumping at all so this looks good but I’d appreciate recommendations too.

I have Killer Body, and I know I've tried it, but I'm afraid I can't remember anything about it! I don't think I can have liked it much, but I honestly can't remember why.

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson thanks - I’ve heard that some of her newer ones are a bit ridiculous, like she’s trying to continuously offer brand new things but they’re too difficult for your average normal person.

I did nmtz again this morning. I’ll just keep going with three-times-a-week for now I think. If I ever get to finding the difficult bits easy I might investigate other dvds!

Well done everyone! NMTZ was the DVD I couldn’t love but I maybe need to try it again.

I am still on lift and shred and also shred it with weights (this is a kettlebell one). I do enough cardio on my bike and enjoy the weight training.

JM is grand. Maybe it’s all shite but I like her positive self talk - last night it was about achievement.

I love her motivational stuff too - the bit in 30DS where she talks about the knot in your stomach being fear leaving your body. She has a way with words!

I have finished 30 day shred. To give it a send off I did level 2 followed by level 1 - my legs were shaking by the end!

Ripped in 30 starts next week

Still don’t know what I’m going to do when gyms reopen - this is definitely doing me more good than my usual half an hour on the cross trainer
