Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

Killer Cardio L2D1 done - not counting Saturday as we only did one set of each exercise. Really hard going, I feel ready for a nice lie-down!

GeraldTippett · 02/06/2020 12:32

Paddington I think I'm seeing a reduction in cellulite in my thighs since doing fairly consistent work outs with Ms Michael's since lockdown. I think it's all the squats and lunges. But I'll always have it I think.

I did BFBM yesterday, all circuits with 1.5kg weights for the kickboxing circuits. Heavy for the punches and upper cuts but quite light just for holding weights while kicking.

Rest day today then NMTZ tomorrow.

Does anyone monitor their heart rate and calories burnt using a smart watch? I have a galaxy and randomly it says I burn more calories doing NMTZ than BFBM even though I feel I work much harder on BFBM..
It also says I burn way more calories doing a one hour walk than I do on a JM dvd which doesn't seem right at all. I don't eat back calories or take exercise calories into account, just curious about how accurate it all is really!

Melassa · 02/06/2020 17:52

Hello all, just joining in as I decided to dust off my DVDs and have started 6W6P after getting to L3 in RI30 and not liking it at all. I have an Achilles’ tendon injury and 6W6P is lighter on my ankle as all the jumpy bits are horizontal.

I spotted some new DVDs on Amazon, has anyone tried the Extreme Shed and Shred? Is it brutal?

CalmConfident · 02/06/2020 19:13

L3 D5 done ✅

Too hot for a run, but managed to get through this. Going to reward myself with a G&T GinGrin

Todayisanewday75 · 03/06/2020 06:02

I've decided not to start 6W6P until next week, giving myself a week off following a plan and just doing workouts I feel like doing

OublietteBravo · 03/06/2020 07:07

Nearly there with Ri30 (L4D8 completed). By the time I’m done I’ll have done 10 days at each level - so more like Ri40.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 03/06/2020 09:41

Lift and Shred L2D2 done. DD managed to bash herself with a weight and there were tears.

CalmConfident · 03/06/2020 15:14

I need to think about what next after 3ODS...Ri30?

CalmConfident · 04/06/2020 09:23

L3 D6 done ✅

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 04/06/2020 13:03

Killer Cardio L2D2 done.

GeraldTippett · 04/06/2020 13:57

Melassa how are you finding 6W6P? I hated the cardio in L2 but now that I'm doing BFBM every other day I realise what actual cardio is and I'm now looking back at that dvd rather fondly!

NMTZ levels 1-5 done (and a bit of 6 before I had to deal with injuries on the trampoline and just couldn't bring myself to finish it off) yesterday, then today just finished BFBM (all 7 circuits with weights). Particularly proud of today's effort as I REALLY didnt want to do it but just forced myself and very-almost-nearly enjoyed it?!?!

Melassa · 04/06/2020 15:53

@GeraldTippett I haven’t got that far yet! L1is bad enough. I did do BFBM a few years ago and dusted it off again at the venting of lockdown, but then only did a select few of the levels. Then I hurt my tendon and couldn’t do the jumpy circuits any more, hence me moving onto something else. Not tried it with weights though, I thought I was hardcore using a 3kg Weight for 6w6p, but I’m obviously a lightweight....

I will need to up my game, but not today. Up to day 6 on L1 of 6W6P and feeling in need of a good sleep.

I’m definitely feeling my age more, I first started JM in my mid 40s and was bouncing around like Tigger from the energy boost it gave me. Now I’m in my early 50s I feel more like I need a lie down

GeraldTippett · 04/06/2020 17:41

Ha ha, I'm mid 40s and feeling decidedly creaky! I did 6W6P with 3kg weights but I ended up having to buy some weightlifting gloves as my hand got so sweaty I nearly dropped a weight on my head. I was very grateful for them when I moved to L2 and discovered 'lighthouses' - with sweaty hand there is a real risk of sending the weight flying through the tv or window !

I think the endorphins must have been messing with my head earlier. I didnt almost enjoy the workout, I just managed it feeling less like I wanted to die. Still a million miles from enjoyment!

GeraldTippett · 04/06/2020 17:43

Oh and when I said 7 circuits with weights, I meant I did all 7 circuits using weights for the KB circuits. The thought of using weights with standing mountain climbers or squat jumps makes me want to throw up.

Melassa · 04/06/2020 21:26

Those squat jumps are evil. As are the alternating lunge jumps in i can’t remember which workout. I hated the moguls too. In a way the ankle injury came in handy as I “had to” avoid anything springy. Even the skaters I needed to take slowly.

I will try some circuits of BFBM with a couple of light weights, I never thought to do that. Annoyingly I appear to have misplaced NMTZ, that was my favourite out of the lot and would have been handy with the ankle injury.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 05/06/2020 17:25

No JM today, but a 2 hour bike ride! First long one since all this started. I may feel it tomorrow.

Todayisanewday75 · 07/06/2020 07:04

Back on it tomorrow, starting 6W6P. I’m not sure about doing the same workout for 3 weeks though, might get a bit boring, perhaps 4W4P instead!

TinyHouseFan · 07/06/2020 08:22

Hi, I'm joining in today for a non-stealthy, flat put boast!

I've been lurking and I think pretty much following CalmConfident in 30 Day Shred.. and I finished it today!
No breaks, no days off, no rest and also did a quick 25 minute cycle most days too. I've lost 8 lbs and about 10 cms from mainly my hips..

I'm not very fit, mid 40s and haven't done much/ any exercise in the last 7 years since I had my kids. Feels great now though.

Thanks to you all for the added motivation and good luck with your own fitness

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 07/06/2020 08:37

Well done tiny. That is a great effort. Can you see muscles?!

I do lots of cycling in summer so have been doing the JM weights one and it’s great. Just tough enough

CalmConfident · 07/06/2020 09:24

Well done @TinyHouseFan - that is fabulous!!! Delighted you de-lurked to share Star. That is an impressive loss 9! Both counts.

I have had a couple of days off, so 4 left to go. You are giving me the final push I need.

Are you going to do next ?

TinyHouseFan · 07/06/2020 09:32

Thanks! I can't exactly see muscles, but there is definitely something appearing under a smaller amount of belly fat.

My kids are unimpressed by my boast of "abs of steel" and have started calling me "flubber abs" instead Hmm

I did take before pics so I'm off now to take some after ones to compare.

CalmConfident definitely finish it, feels really good, even if some of my days were not 100%, I followed Anita for most of it and used my knees and there was some "phoning it in" but I did it.

Thinking of Body Revolution next..

GeraldTippett · 07/06/2020 11:10

Amazing tiny well done!

today I managed the 6W6P doing it over 6 weeks, so 3 weeks at each level. To be honest I needed the full 3 weeks at each level to master some of the moves/finish some of the exercises without stopping. I was glad to see the end of each section but I think the results come from doing it over the full 6 weeks - you may not see the same results/improvements over 4.

Well, I've given myself today off as well as yesterday which is unusual for me. I'm kind of worried about how rigid I'm being with myself on obeying my own exercise rules Confused so I'm feeling a lot of guilt about allowing myself bot to exercise today. I'm just not feeling it - knees are a bit sore and I'm just feeling a bit blah.

My eating has not exactly been on point this week (a massive lunch followed by tacos for dinner last night and I'm doing a full sunday roast today) but at least I stuck with the exercise. I need to clean up my act next week before it all gets out of control. A full alcohol free week probably wouldn't hurt as I've been drinking like that's about to be banned too!

HermioneWeasley · 07/06/2020 17:10

I skipped today [hangs head in shame]
