Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

I didn't drown! I'm achey today but feel good. My forearms are killing me though, a very random place for muscle pain Grin. I did 800m last night and a 3km run this morning. I don't usually have time for exercise on a Tuesday as it's our most hectic day, but my early conference call was cancelled so I made the most of it.

Days exercised 25

May I join you ? I am doing the JM VIP calendar, started second week of January and days exercised so far = 24

OublietteBravo · 04/02/2020 19:35

Welcome to the thread @TheDogsMother. The more the merrier!

Well done for not drowning @MotherForkinShirtBalls Grin

I’ve just done Ri30 L3D3 & Killer Abs L1D3 (65 min). I feel much better for it - I think I needed to get rid of the work stress.

Hello TheDogs Mother! What is the VIP challenge from JM? On You Tube or do you have DVDs?

Nothing like exercise to beat stress in my opinion, Oubliette!

And glad you didn't drown MotherForkin!! My forearms only seem to hurt when I've been to a climbing wall - which is rare, only when the DCs want to go. Wonder what you did?

Days 7, 8 and 9 of the 2020 challenge (Pilates) and then day 1 of a new January yoga challenge. Just discovered this guy Tim Senesi on You Tube and I LOVED his yoga. Exactly the kind of yoga I like (a bit tough, challenging,). Feeling pretty good after that 😊

Days exercised: 30

SophieLion There is a group on Facebook called Jillian Michaels Junkies. The organisers have created what they call the VIP calendar which was posted out to me on 2nd week of Jan. It has a whole year of workouts planned out and I really like the variety compared to following a particular programme. I use DVDs but there is an App version too.

Happy exercise everyone. JM Ripped in 30 beckons for me Smile

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 05/02/2020 18:56

Hello, TheDogsMother Smile

Sore forearms were from weights at strength and conditioning class - lots of weighted squats, hinges, etc while holding a 10kg kettlebell! But they have been replaced by sore knee this evening Sad I had a really good weights session this morning and was going for a jog while ds was at scouts just now, and was 20 mins in and actually feeling good when I fell. I went flat out on the path, and I've grazes from hip to shin on my left leg and palm. I hope because I somehow managed to fall along the length of my leg rather than down onto my knee, I won't be in too much pain tomorrow. I'm starting to feel jinxed running when he's at scouts, I sprained my ankle in December doing the same. Fingers crossed I'll be ok for my swim tomorrow evening.

Ouch @MotherForkinShirtBalls - that sounds painful. I hope no serious damage has been done.

30DS L3D9 & KB&T L1D9 (65 min) for me this evening.

@MotherForkinShirtBalls Ouch ! I hope you are ok. @OublietteBravo Wow. Respect to you. That is a mega work out.

SophieLion · 06/02/2020 09:33

TheDog'sMother - oh that sounds quite cool. I get bored very easily with exercise so always try to mix it up a bit (although very into yoga right now - must do some cardio tomorrow!!)

MotherForkin - that does sound painful. Hope you feel better soon. Flowers I used to fall quite a bit when I used to go running outside here as the pavements are so rubbish. You always go down with such a bam when you're running.

Fully intended to have a run today but have become quite enamoured with yoga so did day 2 of Tim something yoga challenge plus days 10, 11 and 12 of the 2020 challenge

Days exercised: 31

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 06/02/2020 19:36

Thanks all. My knee is more bruised than I thought and I'm absolutely shattered so I'm having a rest day.

OublietteBravo · 06/02/2020 19:41

I did a shorter session this evening - mostly so I could keep an eye on homework. NMTZ (50 min)

Yoghurt challenge Grin

I washed my car this afternoon, and now my shoulders ache.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 09/02/2020 19:07

Isn't it ridiculous how doing something different has such an impact, even when you're fit and strong?

Cross trainer and weights today. Thighs are hurting

Days exercised 29

SophieLion · 10/02/2020 07:26

As Oubliette would say, a very reluctant Extreme Shed and Shred L2 (it was tough) plus days 19 and 20 of the 2020 challenge (pilates) so finished that challenge now!! 😀

My body also feels ouch after yesterday - my triceps, glutes and thighs in particular.
Today I did two yoga sessions: days 4 and 5 of the yoga challenge (forward bends and back bends). Feeling nicely stretched but also a bit wobbly because of all the strength moves.
