OublietteBravo · 01/01/2020 16:31

Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

The shopping was ok MotherForkin but traffic here is crazy because everyone trying to do everything before lockdown. Are your schools
Closes too?
Our upper schools are closed but lower school still open.

5km interval run plus strengths for abs and butt

Days exercised 241

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 06/11/2020 19:15

Glad you got your shopping ok, Sophie. We do have school, thank god. I don't think I'd cope with having to home school again....

I had a micro triathlon today. I had 10mins in the sea first thing, then an 11km cycle to deliver something for work and a walk to pick up the dc from school. I feel perfectly entitled to not move from the couch and my wine this evening Smile

roonetta · 07/11/2020 16:02

Wow MotherForkin, you’re our very own iron woman, amazing! Jealous of all this outdoor exercise, I never seem to get out of the house much these days save for the day in the office. Have to give myself a kick up the under butt 😁

Rest day yesterday and 30DS L2 (D11) done ✅

roonetta · 08/11/2020 11:44

Something twanged in my back during the bloody jumping lunges in L3. Pain radiates right around to my ribs and spasms if I breathe deeply. According to Google it is an intercostal muscle strain which can take a few days to heal (best case scenario). I tried to carry on with the workout but it was impossible and I am now sitting on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. I will see how I am tomorrow but am pissed off 😡

SophieLion · 08/11/2020 15:39

Oh no Roonett, that sounds really painful. Hope you'll be feeling better soon Thanks

A triathlon built into your day sounds perfect MotherForkin!! Jobs and exercise combined! Well done!

Just finished a 7km run. Perhaps if I could still run outside then I could have run to the supermarket or something GrinWink

Days exercised 242

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 08/11/2020 18:16

Ouch roonetta, that sounds painful. I hope it heals soon. It's amazing how you never know how much you use a muscle until it hurts to use it.

Rest day yesterday. I had a cycle with dd today and I got down for a quick dip in the sea.

I'm not sure my "triathlon" was up to much really but I find the easiest way to motivate myself to do things is to build them into my day.

Days exercised 229.

SophieLion · 09/11/2020 07:51

How is your shoulder now MotherForkin?

Just did a strong and stretchy cat Meffan yoga flow (felt like I really needed it as my legs felt stiff after my Run yesterday) then strength for abs and back and triceps.

Days exercised 243

roonetta · 09/11/2020 15:59

Thanks for the good wishes guys. Did a 5 mile ‘Walk with Leslie’ today because I am worried if I just stop I won’t start again. A couple of twinges took my breath away, so definitely no Jillian!

A cat Meffan yoga flow sounds delicious Sophie. I’ll have to look that up.

Ooh that sea must have been freezing MotherForkin!

OublietteBravo · 09/11/2020 20:06

Oh no @roonetta. Ouch. I hope everything heals soon. Definitely no Jillian for a little bit!

I’ve been awol for a few days (I took 3 consecutive rest days, which is unusual for me). I’ve been dealing with DH - it looks like he’s about to be made redundant, and he’s a bit sad and mopey (which I suppose is understandably). Fortunately it’s an inconvenience rather than an actual problem from a financial POV (I earn twice what he does, and I’ve built up a pretty good savings buffer).

But anyway - it’s a new week, so I’m back on it again. Ri30 L2D7 and KAbs K1 (65 min)

(212/38; 212h 25min)

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 10/11/2020 12:02

Oh God, Oubliette, that's not news anyone wants. I hope your dh is getting good advice on the redundancy package. Even when you know things are reasonably secure otherwise, it's a stressful time.

How are your ribs, roonetta? My shoulder is improving, which is good. I'm going to rest it again this week and see if I can do some resistance band work next week.

I had an unplanned rest day yesterday. (I didn't sleep on Sunday night so I had absolutely no energy for anything other than getting through the day!) Today was legs and core again.

Days exercised 230.

OublietteBravo · 10/11/2020 19:46

DH won’t get much of a redundancy package as he’s only been with his current company for a year. But it’ll be fine. I have enough savings to get us through at least a couple of years, and hopefully he’ll find something else relatively quickly 🤞

Ri30 L3D8 and KAbs L2 (65 min) for me this evening.

(213/37; 213h 30min)

OP posts:
SophieLion · 11/11/2020 07:16

Sorry to hear this Oubliette. I hope your DH finds something else very soon. Thanks to you both.

Glad to hear the shoulder is improving*
MotherForkin . And yes I love Cat Meffan Roonetta.* She is really creative and original with her yoga flows so they never get repetitive or boring.

HIIT for me today: killer buns and thighs L3 plus a lilly sabri abs workout.

245 days

roonetta · 11/11/2020 09:21

That's rotten news Oubliette. Are other jobs in DH's line of work hard to come by? Hopefully he can find something soon. My DH has been made redundant a couple of times and they always seem to do it right on Christmas! It's great that it won't have too much of a financial impact on you; good for you making sure you have a substantial savings buffer, that must really take the sting out of it.

Haha Sophie, I thought Cat Meffan was a type of yoga, not a person! Blush

Glad your shoulder is on the mend MotherForkin

I attempted L3 30DS this morning as soon as the kids left for school. I managed it although mostly doing it Anita style. The only thing which gave me any pain surprisingly was trying to do crunches so I did standing crunches instead which was okay.

30DS L3 (D12) done Grin

OublietteBravo · 11/11/2020 20:02

Ri30 L3D1 and 6W6P L1 (65 min). I’d forgotten how awful L3 of Ri30 is. I expect I’ll ache tomorrow!

Go carefully with reintroducing Jillian @roonetta. You don’t want to exacerbate your injury.

(214/36; 214h 35min)

OP posts:
roonetta · 12/11/2020 12:16

Thanks Oubliette. It feels a lot better today and I could even attempt crunches.

I hear you about the awfulness of level 3. Lots of horrific jumping as well if I remember right?

30DS L1 (D13) done.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 12/11/2020 15:51

Sounds like you're healing quickly, roonetta.

I had an unplanned rest day yesterday so I had my circuits this morning and I ran the school run, which was hard after an awful lot of squats this morning...

Days exercised 231.

SophieLion · 12/11/2020 17:55

I was laughing out loud at that Roonetta GrinGrin yes Cat Meffan is a lady!!! glad you are on the mend too.

I had a rest day today but my underbutt is in serious pain from killer buns and thighs yesterday. I'm wincing every time I sit down or stand up. I did put on some ankle weights for some of the exercises (eg standing splits) so wonder if that's what's kicked in today ....

OublietteBravo · 12/11/2020 19:53

I decided I couldn’t face two consecutive days of Ri30 L3. So I did NMTZ (50 min) instead.

(215/35; 215h 25min)

OP posts:
SophieLion · 13/11/2020 07:32

Don't blame you oubliette. I think my quads would fall off if I did ripped in 30 L3 two days in a row!!!

5km interval run for me today plus strength for arms and abs and a short session with squats (didn't want to do too much for the butt as it still
Hurts from my JM session 2 days ago...)

Days exercised 246

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 13/11/2020 19:23

Gorgeous but cold sea swim today. I was in for 25 mins which is my longest yet, but I had a blue big toe for a few hours after which is a lesson learned! A run cured it though, I mixed it up with lots of short fast bursts with some walking.

Happy weekend folks.

Days exercised 232.

SophieLion · 14/11/2020 12:28

I'm really Impressed MotherForkin because cold Sea swimming is something I don't think I could ever do! Are there others swimming when you go?

We just found out that our primary schools are closing too. Feel a combination of sadness and stress. Apparently only for 2 weeks but that's what they said last time....

Just treated myself (and it did feel Like a treat today) to a one hour vinyasa yoga flow session with Cat Meffan. It was quite tough but feeling stretched out and better than I felt before.

Days exercised 247

roonetta · 14/11/2020 15:56

Well done on the sea swim Motherforkin. The blue toe sounds scary! Are there such things as wetsuit type socks you could wear while swimming?

That’s rubbish news about the schools shutting Sophie. We’ve had a few positive cases in my DC’s secondary school, including a teacher yesterday, but luckily it hasn’t affected them yet. I’m sure it’s a matter of time before one of them will have to isolate though.

roonetta · 14/11/2020 15:57

Oops meant to say 30DS L2 (D14) done ✅
