Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

Rest day today (it’s exeat weekend, so we’ve been out and about all day).

Cookery masterclass sounds cool MotherForkin!

Just finished day 25 of the yoga challenge but it was more relaxing and stretching than yoga so not counting as an exercise day. Also did day 29 of the glutes challenge - only one more day to go!!

SophieLion · 27/01/2020 07:30

L1 of Extreme Shed and Shred and day 30 of the 100 glutes challenge - I finished it!!!

Very tired today after a weekend of not much sleep so everything felt really hard.

Days exercised: 23

OublietteBravo · 27/01/2020 20:17

Another rest day yesterday (I went to Oxford for a rowing society meeting, and by the time I got home I was just too tired to exercise). So all in all I didn’t manage any exercise sessions over the weekend. Never mind. Back to it tonight: 30DS L3D2 & KB&T L1D6 (65 min)

(22/228; 22h 20min)

The masterclass was excellent, Sophie. The amount of butter used in a Michelin star kitchen goes some way to explain how good the food tastes Grin

Hill run yesterday and I got back to swimming tonight. It was my first time since I hurt my shoulder last July so I took it easy and only did 750m. I'm aiming to be back up to 2km by Easter.

Days exercised: 20.

SophieLion · 28/01/2020 08:02

5km run and day 1 of the 2020 challenge.

GrinGrin MotherForkin! 2km swimming - wow!! I'm not keen on swimming myself. I find it such a faf with getting all wet and washing all the equipment afterwards and don't enjoy it enough to do all that!! All the DC swim though.

Oubliette - do you row?

Days exercised: 24

OublietteBravo · 28/01/2020 19:32

@SophieLion - I used to row, but I’ve not really done so since DS was born (DS will be 14 this weekend). Although I was still racing when I was 5 months pregnant with DD.

I’ve moved up a level on Ri30 (L2D1) ouch - the plank jack/mountain climber/plank jack/mountain climber cardio circuit hurts. I’ve also dusted off an old DVD that I’ve not done in a while: Killer Abs (L1D1). Total exercise time: 65 mins.

Got a bit of a cold so didn't do anything too intense today: days 27 and 28 of the Adriene Home Yoga challenge plus day 2 of the 2020 challenge.

I remember that cardio circuit in L2, Oubliette - it's not ice! Happy birthday to your DS for the weekend! Cake

days exercised: 25

SophieLion · 29/01/2020 07:41

"not nice" that should have read!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 29/01/2020 19:56

I love how different my view of "intense" is Blush Grin

Dd and I went to the strictly tour yesterday so instead of getting any exercise I was watching people exercise! I still want to be a dancer when I grow up. Not only are they incredibly talented, but their bodies are amazing.

Anyway, this very unamazing body went swimming at lunchtime then for a short run while ds was at scouts. I only did 20 mins but much faster than usual and it felt good.

Days exercised: 21

OublietteBravo · 29/01/2020 20:33

@MotherForkinShirtBalls - I was a ballroom dancer before I was a rower (I have all 15 grades). I’m trying to persuade DS that he’d like to start going to ballroom dancing classes with me. Not very successfully.

Just a short session for me tonight: NMTZ (50 min)

(24/226; 24h 15min)

You're so lucky MotherForkin - I love Strictly!!!! Who did you see dance?? I also do dancing. Latin not ballroom. Absolutely love it!! Just had a performance last week. I live outside UK so not much chance of seeing the strictly tour.

Oubliette- I remember you telling me that you used to dance. You don't ever think about taking it up again?

I've got a cold so again took it a bit easier: day 29 and day 17 of the yoga challenge and day 3 of the 2020 challenge. Motherforkin - this yoga isn't very intense but I want to finish the challenge (which is day 30 so hopefully tomorrow). You do hill runs!!! Grin

Days exercised: 26

OublietteBravo · 30/01/2020 19:13

I’d love to take up ballroom dancing again. But it doesn’t seem to be compatible with working FT and dealing with teenagers.

I’m not feeling my best, but I still got on and did some exercise. 30DS L1D3 & KB&T L1D7 (65 min)

(25/225; 25h 20min)

OP posts:
SophieLion · 31/01/2020 07:16

Yes I understand re the dancing Oubliette. Hope you feel better soon too.

I'm still feeling under the weather. got a cold and a heavy head. Did day 30 of the yoga challenge (last day so finished it!!!) plus day 4 of the 2020 challenge. Hopefully I'll be up to doing something a little bit more dynamic soon (although the yoga today was a good challenge).

Days exercised: 27

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 31/01/2020 13:54

I didn't watch any of the 2019 season, Sophie so I don't really know who they were 😂 I know Kelvin "won" and I think there was a Saffron and someone called Mike?? (I'm excellent at my minor celeb knowledge!) Stacey Dooley was hosting and she was good. Dancing all those years must have been fun Oubliette. Its something I really regret I'm not good at and I'm too self conscious to do anything about it now.

No exercise yesterday as it was our wedding anniversary so I went out for dinner instead. Hill run this morning, although while doing it I feared I may have bigged it up to a greater challenge than it would be for anyone reasonably fit Blush

Hope you're feeling better soon Sophie.

Days exercised: 22

OublietteBravo · 31/01/2020 19:32

Final exercise day for January - I think I’ve done well this month: Ri30 L2D2 & KA L1D2 (65 min)

(26/224; 26h 25min)

Happy anniversary @MotherForkinShirtBalls

I got exercise out of the way first thing. I was hoping for endorphins to make me feel better - but that doesn’t seem to have happened. BFBM (50 min)

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 01/02/2020 12:53

Hope you're in better form, Oubliette.

We're traveling to a funeral today so I went out for a short run early this morning.

Days exercised 23

SophieLion · 03/02/2020 09:40

Thank you for the get well wishes MotherForkin. Happy anniversary! Flowers. I'm sorry to hear you had to go a funeral.

I wasn't well all weekend and eased my back into exercise today (although my body feels good for having stretched out, etc a bit). I hope I will be up to a JM workout tomorrow.

45 minutes of pilates for upper body, day 5 of the 2020 challenge and went back and did day 8 of the yoga challenge which I'd missed out (was v relaxing).

Days exercised: 28

SophieLion · 03/02/2020 09:41

eased back into exercise (not eased MY back... although I kind of did as it was upper body focussed Grin)

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 03/02/2020 14:54

Thanks Sophie, glad you're on the mend. We didn't get home til late last night and after 2 days of cake and sandwiches (typical Irish funeral) I felt like a complete sloth this morning! Anyway, my strength and conditioning class has started again so I ran to it (15mins) then got a lift home afterwards. I'm supposed to be swimming tonight, it'll either kill me or cure all aches Shock

Days exercised 24

SophieLion · 03/02/2020 17:47

That's quite hard core MotherForkin: run,
class plus a swim!!! 👏🏻

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 03/02/2020 18:54

I'll see how I feel in the morning, it might never happen again 😂

OublietteBravo · 03/02/2020 19:37

Hello 👋

Planned rest day yesterday. 30DS L2D3 & KB&T L1D8 this evening (65 min)

OP posts:

Morning! Smile
Managed a JM workout today: Killer Buns and Thighs L1 (that first circuit is tough on the quads! And much harder than the other 3 circuits) plus day 6 of the 2020 challenge (which was also tough as had 20 burpees in a row....).

How are your muscles today MotherForkin?!
