Happy new year all!

It’s January 1 and that means another 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene :)

Here she is. I’ll definitely not manage the full 30 days but who’s in?

OP posts:

It's fairly "strong" but short.

ChachyFace · 14/01/2020 22:14

I thought it was called Glow so put it off as I didn't want to get sweaty when there was no time for a shower. Turns out it's called Grow. I'll do 2 sessions tomorrow to catch up.....

SophieLion · 15/01/2020 07:47

Grin ChachyFace!

CoffeeCow- I liked day 13. It was a bit harder than the others but lots of good stretches (I just did it after a run so found it very beneficial). Also a core bit with boat pose towards the end.

I seem to be picking the workouts according to how long they last and how much time I have.

WreckTangled · 15/01/2020 08:07

I can't ever imagine being able to get my elbows flat on the ground like that when standing! Managed my fingers flat but couldn't even get my whole hand!

hanahsaunt · 15/01/2020 13:26

Day 13 was fine but nervous about today since the email notes lots of hip activity. I have to say that my hips are the one place declaring some kind of objection.

LittenKitten · 15/01/2020 15:55

Squeezed in day 14 before the school run. Some deep stretches but it felt quite gentle and reflective too. May have had a little cry at the end Blush

ShinyGiratina · 15/01/2020 17:51

I'm really enjoying the different session each morning to start the day. I'm quite chuffed that I'm actually keeping up with them each day (as well as the running!)

Snaleandthewhail · 15/01/2020 22:02

I’ve done 14 days in a row!

(Well I missed doing one of the hug-yourself-in-a-blankets day, rolling it into the next day).

I even did a double practice another day as I was almost... enjoying it.

And I feel - a bit better. A bit stronger. A bit more upright. And some of the poses feel a bit easier.

But the pigeon thing - I’m a size 18. I can’t work out which bit of my calf/thigh/arse/hip should be taking the weight as I just don’t bend enough to look anything like she does.

Also when I’m doing the child pose I sort of squash my face too much. Is that normal? .

hanahsaunt · 15/01/2020 23:03

Day 14 complete; that was surprisingly lovely but now know that it's the pigeon which makes a nerve or a particular muscle in my right groin/hip scream. No more of those for a while.

InfiniteSheldon · 16/01/2020 06:22

Just checking in I started late due to a MiL infestation so only on day 4. I had forgotten how slow her early videos are but am really relaxing into it. Hips are feeling great and my stomach looks better already.

ChachyFace · 16/01/2020 07:33

Snale - that Pigeon pose is bonkers. I sort of made a similar-ish shape.... but I was completely dependent on my arms supporting me. I couldn't believe it when she took her hands off the floor and was just sitting there in that posture, serene and balanced..... Legs and hips had a lovely stretch though.....

WreckTangled · 16/01/2020 07:50

I didn't do it yesterday and having previewed today's think I'll give today's a miss and just replace it with yesterday's Grin

LittenKitten · 16/01/2020 12:58

Oh no @WreckTangled, does it look hard? Must be due another nice relaxing one soon then 😄

DonnaDarko · 16/01/2020 13:03

I really enjoyed today's one. Some bits were a bit hard but I really enjoyed the challenge.

I've managed to.do every day so far and I'm really chuffed! Previously, I found it really hard to stick to as I had to get up at 5:30 to do it due to a long commute.

Ive been practicing yoga ocassionally for a while but never every day like this and I can already feel the difference, physically and mentally 😊

Weepingwillows12 · 16/01/2020 13:03

I am 2 days behind again as fidnt do it last night. Was out the house from 6am to 8pm at work so just couldnt be bothered! Going to catch up at the weekend. Looking forward to tonight although sounds hard based on your comments.

DonnaDarko · 16/01/2020 13:04

I also can't quite get wtf to do with the pigeon pose 😂

WreckTangled · 16/01/2020 19:08

Littlekitten it's lots of standing moves which I'm no good at! Did day 14 just now. I liked the pigeon although obviously wasn't as good as Adriene Grin

Ulysses · 16/01/2020 20:21

I missed yesterday due to a horrendous start to my period but managed today fine. I am contemplating catching up before bedtime.I am find my breathing getting better and more intuitive though still far from bendy!

WreckTangled · 17/01/2020 12:28

Just did 15&16. Hated yesterday's, found it too hard for me. Enjoyed today's.

frazzledasarock · 17/01/2020 13:44

I’m enjoying the more intense ones, I think I can actually see a difference in myself too, things are toning up, the post baby overhang is looking less pronounced (or maybe I’m just hoping it is).

Still can’t go from down dog to foot by my hands in one go tho.

WreckTangled · 17/01/2020 13:49

I can't do that either! I wasn't sure it was just me being really lame so reassuring to hear others can't do it either... I can get my hands flat on the ground when standing with my legs apart though (can't remember what that's called) no way will I ever get my elbows down too mind....

frazzledasarock · 18/01/2020 00:30

I can’t get elbows down during the legs apart move either... would have to do the splits to get my arms down that far 😆

Really enjoyed day 16.

I love Benjy the dog too.

Ulysses · 18/01/2020 06:45

I know every time Adriene says 'and if this [manoeuvre] is available to you...' then it isn't for me!

I'm still a day behind. Day 16 looks a nice relaxing one so I'm saving it for bedtime. Am waiting on the heating to come on for a bit before I do 17. I can't get started before I am warmed up.

SophieLion · 18/01/2020 13:18

Did day 15 today. Liked it.

Do you think she is alternating between tougher days and more relaxing days?

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 18/01/2020 13:30

I don’t know about the alternating. Nothing so far has been as hard as day 6! I found 15 and 16 really good and therapeutic. I must be getting a little bendier, but am still rubbish at focusing on breathing. Spent most of today worrying about my pension!
