Happy new year all!

It’s January 1 and that means another 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene :)

Here she is. I’ll definitely not manage the full 30 days but who’s in?

Just did 9 and 10. Felt really stiff and distracted for most of 9 so it felt good to carry on with another one (although meant more chair poses!). Enjoyed the hip stretches on day 9.

NotJustACigar · 12/01/2020 07:29

Just did day 10 but as it's Sunday and I have more time than usual I felt it wasn't long enough. So I did a day 10 from the 2015 series which focussed on sun salutations, then went back and did this year's Day 8 which I had skipped. So about an hour of yoga today. I'm feeling great and I know it hasn't been long since starting but I really feel I'm getting stronger already - plank is much easier than it used to be for example. I think I'll continue to do at least a bit of yoga every morning from now on as I think there will be a lot of benefits.

WreckTangled · 12/01/2020 08:02

Uh oh crow pose today!

paintyhands · 12/01/2020 08:10

Long time lurker here but jumping on because I’ve missed doing Adriene for a week and need to get back on it! I’ve done up to day three and it sounds as though the pace has really picked up since then!

nibdedibble · 12/01/2020 08:34

No yoga yesterday as I’ve hurt my elbow. We have a cheapo adapter socket thingy that it’s almost impossible to get plugs out of. And it gives me the rage. So a sore elbow and some not very yogi swearing.
I’m up to day 8. Noticing that bending or squatting down to pick stuff up is much easier. I weigh about 4stones too much so it’s resistance work too Grin

LizziesTwin · 12/01/2020 08:38

I’ve been doing Home as well as REDJanuary and normal yoga. I finding it less enjoyable than in the past, maybe because I do yoga more regularly now? I feel as if I am going through the motions rather than taking part with pleasure. Will hang on in there.

Day 10 flew by today. I didn't make the Crow though. Might have managed to lift my legs by a nanosecond but then face planted!

Weepingwillows12 · 12/01/2020 11:36

I did 9 and 10 back to back this morning. 9 really made my legs burn. I also find it quite hard to do so much downward dog/ plank etc. As my arms get wobbly. Is that normal? I always feel like she treats downward dog as a rest pose but that's 100% not the case for me! Also who actually got their knee to kiss the opposite knee under them. The time I got closei fell over haha. Am really enjoying it though.

Enjoyed 10 a lot.

Weepingwillows12 · 12/01/2020 11:36

Kiss the opposite elbow not knee!

Weepingwillows12 · 12/01/2020 11:39

I just realised when I say day 10 I mean the one she calls day 10 but actually the 11th session. I was thinking I dont recall doing a crow but that's why I think.....unless I missed a bit with the kids interrupting! Nothing quite like killing the yoga mood mid routine as the toddler shouting he needs his bum wiped now!

WreckTangled · 12/01/2020 11:50

I have the same issue with dc interrupting me! Mine are old enough to know better but still can't seem to allow me 20 minutes of peace Hmm

Knackerelli · 12/01/2020 13:16

I’m only on day 4 as I also run and, well, life is busy 😀

I’m really not a yoga person but like Adrien’s videos and how she explains the moves. Still have to twist my neck to check I’m doing it right though! Got a bit of a cold so downward dogs have been hard to do and breath but I like the stretch in my hamstrings. Can’t imagine having my heels on the floor! My ds(10) decided to crawl underneath me too!

I won’t be doing a video a day but I’m hoping to finish the course and get more flexible and have some core muscles.

hanahsaunt · 12/01/2020 23:22

Yesterday was great but today's handstand was never going to happen!

ChachyFace · 13/01/2020 13:23

Day 12- lovely. A little stretching and a lovely wrap up and lie down in your quilt. Do it!

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 13/01/2020 15:00

Oh that does sound good. I went to a yoga class in my lunch hour and was debating whether to do this tonight but if it's all stretchy and warm then I'll definitely go for it.

Weepingwillows12 · 13/01/2020 19:57

So the crow was interesting....I pretty much just sat and watched after wobbling a bit! Enjoyed the rest of that session a lot though.

LittenKitten · 13/01/2020 20:05

Still a day behind, just done 11 - may do 12 now if it’s a gentle one! I was very wobbly today 😬 I was noticing a difference doing yoga everyday, but progress has slowed down where I’ve been slacking. Onwards!

drspouse · 13/01/2020 22:07

Did 12 just now, both tomorrow's and one I've missed are short enough I may do one in the morning to get back to my morning yoga.

ShinyGiratina · 13/01/2020 22:29

Benji gave me a good laugh this morning Grin

I enjoyed yesterday's crow (although my shoulder hasn't today... for about 18m it's begrudged any kind of weight bearing like that Hmm). I put my block under my head, not to place the weight on but to give me confidence that I'm not about to faceplant Grin

drspouse · 14/01/2020 07:56

Done day 13, nice to do it early!

SophieLion · 14/01/2020 08:08

I have exactly the same problem with my children WreckedTangled! Definitely old enough to know better Grin

Just did days 9, 10 and 11 together as all white short. I skipped days 7 and 8 for now as I wanted something more dynamic. Planning on coming back to them on a day that suits my mood better. I think day 7 stretch might be nice for after a run.

SophieLion · 14/01/2020 08:14

*quite short

lolaflores · 14/01/2020 11:24

I realise I am bringing up the rear here, ut I love her and have found her exercises accessible for me. I have back problems and want to stay supple whilst ot getting beaten into the ground. Just found the thread. I'm going to give it a shot

drspouse · 14/01/2020 11:46

I had a cat under me while doing Downward Dog yesterday. It's like she knows... At least it wasn't a poorly balanced plank.

coffeecow · 14/01/2020 17:54

Well done to everyone who is still going! Day 13!

I'm still here, managed each day so far. I've been doing it in the evenings as I'm not a morning person at all. Enjoying it so far although I've never been able to do crow, even when I was at my most yoga-ish best! Any clues as to what's in store for me on day 13? Really very tired this evening 😴
