Happy new year all!

It’s January 1 and that means another 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene :)

Here she is. I’ll definitely not manage the full 30 days but who’s in?

I thought day 2 would be posted but it's not yet. I was hoping to do it before everyone is up.

Skipped Day 1 - too long and slow, and had a very long day back at work yesterday, but just did day 2 with DS12 (was supposed to be with DD14 as well, but she teened out on me). DS12 enjoyed it, but struggled with some of the planks. A bit slow for me, but a lovely way to start the day 😀🙏

Day 2 done. Smile

Newnamewhodis1 · 03/01/2020 12:19

I'm in!

Ulysses · 03/01/2020 13:35

Day 2 done. I struggled quite a bit in parts but feels good to have done it. My downward dogs aren't too bad but can never get the three legged dog done that well.

SophieLion · 03/01/2020 15:01

Just done days 1 and 2.

I usually do a more dynamic, faster- paced yoga practice but I really enjoyed this. Think Adrienne explains things very well to help get your body in the right position. I also like how she started building on day 1 moves in the day 2 practice. Looking forward to the rest of the 30 days!

ArtisanPopcorn · 03/01/2020 17:15

Just completed day 2. I'm finding the planks and dogs really hard on my wrists, anyone got any advice? Other than 'lose a few stone fatty!'

SophieLion · 03/01/2020 17:17

Hi ArtisanPopcorn, I think at one point Adriene said to try and grip the mat move with your fingers (tips?) to take the pressure off the wrists. Perhaps try that?

SophieLion · 03/01/2020 17:17
  • grip the mat more (not move)
Newnamewhodis1 · 03/01/2020 17:39

Your wrists just get used to it I think! Stick with it

ArtisanPopcorn · 03/01/2020 18:03

Thanks! Does anyone know if there's any similar 30 day challenges for Pilates? Would like to try something like that for February.

carrie74 · 03/01/2020 18:25

Your wrists will adjust, but in the meantime, try and claw into the mat, and if you need to stretch out your wrists, , you can always go up on your fists rather than flat palms.

WreckTangled · 03/01/2020 18:39

She also has a yoga video for wrists on YouTube.

Day 2 done. I got cramp quite a bit Blush definitely haven't drunk enough today though!

SophieLion · 03/01/2020 18:49

ArtisanPopcorn - Blogilates.com is a pilates site with various challenges. Not really the same format as the yoga one though as they focus on one body part usually.

Namechangedtoprotect · 03/01/2020 19:56

Day 2 done and I mostly enjoyed that one. Day 1 I found too long and I'm out of shape but day 2 made me relax after work

CalamityJune · 03/01/2020 20:03

Did Day 1 last night and enjoyed it but agree it was a little slow.

I'm pregnant with sore hips so my REDJanuary is a 30 min dog walk where I can or a yoga video. I definitley notice a difference in how much better my shoulders feel today. I think the neck stretches right at the start were just what I needed.

frazzledasarock · 03/01/2020 23:08

Day 2 done, quite enjoyed it l!

coffeecow · 04/01/2020 00:04

Did day 2 earlier, really enjoyed it!

Elindab · 04/01/2020 01:14

Did day 2! I find it hard to stick with things, so thanks I hope this thread will help me.

Ulysses · 04/01/2020 08:20

Day 3 in the bag and I enjoyed this session. There was a few lunges that I didn't quite flow into and my left leg is much less flexible than my right. Hoping to see progress there by the end of the month. I have that pleasant pain where I can feel my abs ache from yesterday's stretches.

WreckTangled · 04/01/2020 08:29

I can't go from downward dog to a lunge. My legs just don't move like that. I also can't go from plank to forward fold. But I do what I can Grin

Starlight2004 · 04/01/2020 09:48

I enjoyed day one and two and looking forward to day three! I'm really hoping I can do the full thirty. I am struggling with my wrist as I had fractured it a few years back and it has never been quite the same... so I'm hoping that gets easier as it gets stronger. I love how relaxed I feel at the end. Smile

Weepingwillows12 · 04/01/2020 10:31

I am a complete newbie to yoga. Found yesterday manageable but realised I have no arm strength and no flexibility. Today was too fast for me. By the time I figured out what she had done she was on to the next so the breathing was a bit wrong. Also really sound the stuff like plank, downward dog etc hard on my arms and wrists. Hopefully by day 30 i will be stronger so it will be easier. Doesnt help that the kids are fighting and constantly interrupting!

carrie74 · 04/01/2020 18:33

Day 3 done, it's still a little slow for me, and I'm sometimes moving through familiar flows a little bit faster than she is, but I think that's ok. I remember this now from previous years, I'm waiting for my heart rate to elevate and a sweat to break out and it never really happens. But that's ok, it's just nice to show up 😀.

PS after my YouTube video today, there was a lovely follow up video from the Today show (US) that had Adrienne on, was very sweet.
