Hello to anyone who wants to join me over here Smile

A few of us tagged onto the end of the new year/new you c25k gang but they were already at the end or had finished and so perhaps it is best for us to have a new one to discuss our newbie woes, aches and pains?

I’m at the beginning of week 3. Just been out again today, I should’ve done W3R2 but repeated w3r1 instead as I wasn’t comfortable last time, I think I took it too fast. Plus, it is ruddy boiling here today! It went much better and i’ll move on to w3r2 on Sunday.

Please join me, say hi and let us know where you are on the programme and update us on how you’re finding it.

theneverendinglaundry is there a reason why you are going from W5R3 to W6R3?

theneverendinglaundry · 08/09/2019 19:33

I did r1 and r2 in between, didnt just jump to r3 Grin

Shouldibeworriedaboutthis · 11/09/2019 15:40

I’m up to 5k now but got a bit of a twinge in the back of my leg directly behind my knee. Right at the back of my leg though rather than in behind my knee cap.

Do I have another rest day or can I go out tonight do you think? Didn’t run yesterday. It’s a bit niggly rather than really painful but I don’t want to do more harm than good.

mintich · 11/09/2019 19:49

I'm on run 3! Hi everyone!

MirrorrorriM · 11/09/2019 21:52

Hopefully starting week 3 tomorrow.

Banjodancer · 13/09/2019 20:34

Managed 30 mins tonight, very happy!
But I'm no where near 5k - did 3.5 k in 30 mins.Sad

SisterFarAway · 15/09/2019 20:09

I did my first "proper" 5K run last night, 39mins 45 sec., and I did walk a bit during the run, but I made it.

stoneysongs · 15/09/2019 23:46

Can I join? I did week 4 run 3 today - about to get quite busy at work so might only manage 2 runs a week but just gonna plod on and repeat anything that's really horrific.

MotherOfSoupDragons · 19/09/2019 22:13

Well my ankle has proved to be a right bugger. Did 20 mins today and it felt good. Will do it again then hopefully do 25 then 30 but don't want to get my hopes up. So sad when I was at 30 mins at the beginning i8f August. Ah well.

Shhhhh223 · 20/09/2019 14:16

Hi I’m a late one to this thread! I started C25K with the NHS podcast and have just finished week one. Ive never been a fan of sport but as I’m hitting my late thirties I know I have to start keeping fit. I must say I’m loving it, not so much at the time of doing it but after I feel so rejuvenated and mentally much clearer I never ever thought I’d enjoy running!!

BestIsWest · 22/09/2019 16:46

Tentatively stepping in. Completed W2R3 this morning and found it ok which surprised me because I tried to do it on the treadmill in the gym on Friday and failed completely.

I’m not sure how far I’ll get - have lots of problems with my legs but am determined to at least give it a go. Have to get over my embarrassment at running in front of other people too.

OopNorfDahnSarf · 22/09/2019 21:48

Sticking around W5 and W6 at the moment. Alternating two 10 min runs with a 20 min run until I get my fitness up. Didn't manage the 25 min run at the end of W6. Worried about it getting dark and wet as autumn starts. Do people run in the rain or dark or just hibernate until spring?

MotherOfSoupDragons · 23/09/2019 16:16

I don't mind the rain but I won't go in the dark.

FatArse123 · 26/09/2019 14:42

Also on week 1 of C25K, the second run already felt easier than the first, so I am positive about this. I started for mood reasons mainly (and my username isn't really a misnomer!) and I think it's helping already.

BestIsWest · 26/09/2019 19:46

Just done W3R2. Was ok but conscious of being very slow. W4 looks a big jump from here though!

Banjodancer · 26/09/2019 20:26

Well I've finished now but only in terms of running for 30 minutes, I'm at about 3.5 k in that time nowhere near 5! So I guess I need to keep doing till I can do 5, though probably never in 30 minutes!

Lellochip · 01/10/2019 01:08

I was at about 3.5k when I finished too. 5k closer to 40 minutes

MaximumDerek · 02/10/2019 19:24

Hello, can I join? I’ve just done w1r3. Very early days. I’m so horribly unfit but I’m trying to get better.

BestIsWest · 04/10/2019 10:01

W4R2 done. Never thought I’d be able to do 5 minutes but it was ok. Even ran for a bit afterwards (Don’t Stop me now came up on my headphones, had to be run to).

numberonecook · 04/10/2019 12:36

Still a baby here! Just done w1r2 this morning and so far so good. After dodging exercise for nearly 40 years I didn’t do too bad 😀

MotherOfSoupDragons · 05/10/2019 09:27

I've done it! Finally I've graduated. I'm so chuffed. Did my first W9 run at the beginning of August then somehow strained a tendon and had a few false starts getting that better. Next aim is 5K as I'm not there yet.

user1471539385 · 05/10/2019 14:06

Next run for me is the 25 minute one and I’ve got The Fear! I did Parkrun today, so there’s no reason why I shouldn’t be able to do it, but it’s really different running without a crowd to motivate me!

user1471539385 · 05/10/2019 14:07

Well done MotherofSoupDragons! It must be such a good feeling!

idsisatwat · 06/10/2019 19:17

Did w3r3 this morning. I know you’re supposed to leave a day in between runs, but I’ll be doing w4r1 tomorrow night. But that’s because I’ve joined a local running club for women. It’s the motivation I need, as i’ve had the app for years and never got beyond week 1

BloggersBlog · 06/10/2019 21:51

W4 R3 done - but I think I will have to repeat it as it is so difficult still! Or should I jump in to W5? Advice welcome please!
