Hi lovelies! I was just about to join the running thread and saw it was almost full and couldn’t find another
I’ve copied below from the last thread and I hope you don’t mind me joining you all!

This is the 12th thread since it started with a few of us who wanted to chat about our running, running clothes, support each other and get some training tips.

We talk about our runs and support and encourage where needed.

Please feel free to come and join us and add your miles to our running total for the month for the whole thread in bold at the bottom of each post.
Currently on 10.2 for September

Best wishes

Well done badkitten hopefully you’re feeling a bit more recovered now.
I know what you mean about dogs emummy mine rolled in a dead seal a while ago Shock that stink took a long time to come out.

I’m sure running would make me a lot skinnier if I didn’t eat all the creme eggs, doughnuts and hot cross buns.

Feeling a bit nervous about my half on Sunday

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/03/2019 20:38

You'll do well IRun :)
I'm getting there. Slowly. Looking forward to being able to get running again.

emummy · 21/03/2019 07:36

You will be great on Sunday Irun! Our weather forecast is looking promising for my race, how does it look for you?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/03/2019 08:04

Good luck irun, I think a bit of nerves is what carried me through my 15k so hopefully it will do the same for you

I suffer with a bit of anxiety generally and one tip I've been given is to remind myself that this isn't nerves this is excitement and actually that really helps too.

Good luck- hoping for a dry, cool, crisp sunshine spring morning for you!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/03/2019 08:54

That tip really works Bear. It got me really pumped up for my race.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/03/2019 10:32

I think in my current existence of suburban stay at home mum of 3, I had actually forgotten what excitement felt like, so automatically assumed it was fear. Only partly joking

IRun4Me · 21/03/2019 15:30

Thanks for all the good luck thoughts. I shall remember it is excitement and yes averagebear I this is what excitement looks like nowadays. Grin
The weather forecast is looking perfect so fingers crossed. emummy Is your run this weekend?

Just done a couple of short ones but actually seem to find them harder than a long run. I think it is because it takes me a couple of miles to get my breathing sorted and settle in to the run. Today didn’t help as I was running with the dog and every time he came out of the undergrowth he had half a bramble bush attached. So I had to keep stopping and sort him out. He is a big design flaw but I love him.

IRun4Me · 21/03/2019 15:31

I think the monthly total is now
171.1

emummy · 21/03/2019 16:44

Yes, Sunday for me too. In our house the feeling before a race is known as being 'nervecited' thanks to dd2!

IRun4Me · 22/03/2019 07:44

I like that word. Maybe that should be our adopted word when anyone has a race on this board Smile
Good luck emummy When I’m pounding the pavements in the big smoke I shall think of you running in the lovely fresh air. But if (when) I hit the wall I shall remember your hills and be grateful!! Enjoy

TriSkiRun99 · 22/03/2019 09:04

I like that nervecited we get a lot of that in this house!

Woke up feel like very blahhh (my youngest DDs fav expression) so I canned thoughts of running before work, but may go at lunchtime if my energy returns.

FATEdestiny · 22/03/2019 18:11

Loving the warmer weather this week. First time this year I've ditched long sleeves and run in t-shirts.

TriSkiRun99 · 23/03/2019 10:53

Did a ParkRun sandwich today set off thinking it would be warm but it was cold and drizzling damp rain however it stopped by time PR started ended up quite humid& jackets off. Ran 11.5k by time id got home, was nice to escape Sat morn homework Smile left DH kajooling the kids Grin

Kedgeree · 23/03/2019 22:04

Bootcamp this morning followed by steep 5km. Good luck to all racers for tomorrow.

Daisydoesnt · 24/03/2019 08:46

I'm feeling nervecited for all the HM runners today! I don't know how it is with you, but here the weather is about as perfect as could be: still, sunny, cool. Hope you all have a fantastic time.

I did my last long run before my HM (which is next Sunday) on Friday. I did a flat 10k and beat my PB - yay! I now need to [make myself] really take it easy, because I know I run best on fresh legs.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/03/2019 08:48

Good luck everyone who is running today :)

emummy · 24/03/2019 09:39

Thank you! Sitting in the car, 7 degrees, sunny-ish and a bit breezy in Aberdeenshire. Off for a walk to the start now, and join the cue for the loos! Good luck all!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/03/2019 10:56

Good luck today runners! Star

emummy · 24/03/2019 14:23

PB! PB! Very happy - can you tell?! Caught a cold last few days do set off with low expectations and took 5 minutes off my half pb! Did 2:04:54, really chuffed. We had warm sun, then showers, then horizontal rain and a strong wind for the last 2, thankfully downhill, miles. Back home now & heading for a shower

191.2

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/03/2019 15:55

That's amazing!! Well done Emummy!

IRun4Me · 24/03/2019 18:00

Thank you everyone.
Well done emummy that sounds a lot to contend with. You did so well.
I’ve also come down with a cold and sore throat but luckily the weather was glorious. I managed just a bit slower than you at 2.05:43 Grin
And there was a hill at mile 10 but I was really proud that I managed to keep running and not walk up it.
I’m shattered now. Early night in order
204.3

emummy · 24/03/2019 18:27

Well done IRun! We had a hill at mile 10 too, maybe it's compulsory?! Enjoy your rest

TriSkiRun99 · 24/03/2019 21:31

Super well done emummy and irun great day for mong runs. Alas I was sat in car for 4.5hrs& a sports hall for 5hrs as my DD was competing so just a leg rest day today. Hope to go run tomorrow though Smile

TriSkiRun99 · 24/03/2019 21:32
