I’m making progress. I had a rest day on Saturday, and then did L1D7 yesterday and L1D8 today. I should move up to L2 before the end of the week.

clearsommespace · 13/08/2018 20:55

Did Level 2 today. Was planning on running tomorrow morning but I have to be ready earlier than normal and I don't get very far when I run for less than 30 minutes.
So I'll do Level 3 instead.

Level 3 this morning.
I could have gone for a run after all! I was told yesterday on the phone (after a 25 minute wait to speak to someone in the relevant department) I had to drop by the local government office to collect a specific form as I couldn't find it on the web site.
When I went to collect the form, I queued for 45 minutes to be told by another person that ALL the forms are available on the web site and the specific form I had been told to collect doesn't exist.
Aargh! French bureaucracy!
Although to be fair second person did tell me to use form number X as it would provide all the information they need, even though it isn't the proper form for my situation. I just hope she is right!

I did a different DVD today (Banish fat, boost metabolism). I find it very boring to do the same circuit over and over again. I wonder if it works better if you are consistent, or whether it doesn't matter as long as you keep exercising.

clearsommespace · 15/08/2018 04:01

I world think the latter. Easier to exercise if you aren't bored.
I like the way that when you do something like Shred you can feel the progress you are making. But I couldn't do it all year round.

I’ve been rubbish at doing this as I’ve also been trying to increase my running distance. But level 3 day 3 done! 7 more to go...

Tempted to try Ripped in 30 days after this and that’ll roughly bring me up to end of mat leave at end of Oct. Sad

OublietteBravo · 16/08/2018 19:55

I took a rest day yesterday. This evening I did L1D9. Almost time for L2...

OublietteBravo · 17/08/2018 19:14

I’ve just done my last day of L1. Next challenge - level 2. I seem to remember that L2 is the one with the evil chair squats in circuit 3. Not looking forward to those at all.

clearsommespace · 18/08/2018 03:28

Waiting I'm impressed you are doing this on maternity leave. Do join us for Ripped!
oubliette congrats on completing L1.

I am on holiday now.Smile I did a 6k run on Wednesday before we left and hope to run a couple of times while away.

Well done ouiblettebravo ! Ohhh those chair squats I struggled with.

Have a lovely holiday clearsomemespace .

I’m away for a few days so won’t get last 6 days done until next week. Went for a run today and had forgotten how much harder running outside is.

OublietteBravo · 20/08/2018 19:32

I’ve just done 30DS L2D1. Ooof - that was hard. Especially circuit 3.

Processedpea · 20/08/2018 21:17

Just started week 4 of ripped quite like this one didn't like level 2

Processedpea · 20/08/2018 21:18

Love her pep talk at the cool down too

OublietteBravo · 21/08/2018 19:46

L2D2 - I have to say I’m not enjoying this level at all. Does it get better after a few more days or is it just inherently awful? Grin

Waitingonasmiley42 · 21/08/2018 20:05

Emmmm. I hated it and didn’t grow to like it I’m afraid. On the bright side level 3 is so much nicer, although harder.

I’ve been away so won’t get a chance to do it again until Friday. I’ve been running more instead.

babyinthacorner · 22/08/2018 08:47

Right, I'm back. Got home from holiday at the weekend with 2 sick children and am just about at the end of post-holiday washing/tidying so feel I can start again. I did NOTHING on holiday - except a few rockstar jumps in the sea!

Don't know whether to get back to L3 or move on to Ripped...

OublietteBravo · 22/08/2018 19:10

L2D3

@babyinthacorner
IIRC L3 of 30DS and L1 of Ri30 are fairly similar in terms of difficulty. So I suppose it depends on whether you consider rock star jumps or running man the lesser evil Grin

(assuming I’m remembering my least favourite moves from each correctly)

clearsommespace · 22/08/2018 21:22

Oubliette Keep up the good work. I just survive L2 by thinking of the good it is doing. I find it very difficult to enjoy.

Did a 7k run in my hilly holiday location.

Waitingonasmiley42 · 24/08/2018 15:06

Well I’m back after a week away and going to do level 3 day 5 tonight. I’ve written it here so I have to do it now! Wink.

Managed a run this morning too. Still hoping to be done by the end of the month...

Waitingonasmiley42 · 24/08/2018 16:43

Done! I found it hard after the break and struggled with walking push ups.

NefretForth · 25/08/2018 10:44

I'm also back! Did less running on holiday than I planned as DD developed mystery pains in her shoulder blades when we ran for more than 5 minutes. I'll do L3 D5 later today (got up late because of the jet lag, and now I have to go and get the cat from the cattery).

NefretForth · 25/08/2018 20:13

L3D5 done. I swear I will get this done in time to start Ripped the first week of September.

Waiting, I always struggle with those travelling push-ups and sometimes have to do them on my knees. My upper body strength is completely pathetic.

Waitingonasmiley42 · 25/08/2018 20:30

Level 3 day 6 done and a 10k run this morning.

We can get this finished netfretforth 6 more days of August left!

NefretForth · 26/08/2018 16:06

L3D6 done. At least I did one set of the travelling push-ups properly. I reckon I could just about do the rock star jumps on a sprung floor, but I don't like the way I crash into the floor when I land, and I've got tiles under my mat.

Waiting, I'm very impressed that you've been running too! I meant to go to yoga tonight but the teacher's away because of the bank holiday, selfish wretch.

Sturmundcalm · 26/08/2018 17:53

I'm on L1D7 - and have never got this far before as I've always had some kind of calf strain that has stopped me and I haven't got back into it. Am now exercising with leg warmers on top of my leggings/trousers which is not a great look as they are cheapo black knitted leg warmers...

I lost quite a bit of weight over last year so enjoying seeing my body change quite quickly with the shred this time (I did it mid-end July as well before having to stop due to calf problem). Only issue is that lots of clothes are now hitting the "too big to reasonably wear" stage - including my leggings nearly falling down while doing the shred this morning...

There's no way I'll be done in time to join the RI30days fest starting in Sept but look forward to hearing how other folk get on as I do need to try and keep going. I like the shortness of the routines - I add extra stretching but can still be totally done and dusted in 40mins which is manageable most days for me.
