Enjoy and Level 2 Shred do not go together!!
I will be starting tomorrow as I didn't get up in time Friday and had various early morning commitments yesterday and today.
I have eaten some chocolate and I didn't enjoy it as much this time last year. But that may be because it is hot rather than because of the break. I am only a chocoholic when it is cool or cold.

am done!

only lost a tiny wee bit more weight the last couple of weeks which I'm a bit disappointed about but I have struggled to stick to cal count and while I didn't weigh myself when doing the shred I noticed that I didn't seem to be going down as much by the last level so trying to stay positive...

watched level 1 of 6 week 6 pack and hmmm... honestly not sure whether I'll like it or not, less easy to see the "pattern" which I've quite liked with both the Shred and Ripped. going to give myself at least a few days off the DVDs though so won't start till the weekend at the earliest - good weather forecast so will go early morning walks the next few days Smile

hope you enjoy the chocolate if you have any more! i had a wee bit of dairy free yesterday and did enjoy it but I have a feeling that chocolate doesn't agree with me even when dairy free so might try to give it up completely Hmm

Sturmundcalm · 22/04/2019 10:43

meant to say - think my upper arms and legs are where I've seen biggest difference with Ripped so hoping that 6w6p really does make a difference on my stomach! still have that post-c-section pouch effect...

clearsommespace · 22/04/2019 17:28

Congratulations!
I was totally confused by 6 week 6 pack but a poster earlier on the thread pointed out it is really 4 circuits of 5 moves which are then repeated. It makes sense when you think of that way.

Just started 30 day shred. It's so hard!! Can I ask - are you meant to do it literally every day for 30 days? How do you know when you're ready to move to level 2? TIA 👍🏼

Sturmundcalm · 27/04/2019 17:40

I did ten sessions of each level but not in 30 days. Aimed to do 5-6 sessions a week but it took me about 6 weeks to complete so obviously only averaged 5/week!

It does get easier as you repeat, and I just moved up even though I was still doing a couple of moves as a beginner - I don't have great upper body strength so struggle with the push up type moves every time...

I started 6 week 6 pack this morning, and was pleasantly surprised that I didn't feel like I was going to die but I guess I also need to wait and see if some bit of me starts killing me tomorrow!

clearsommespace · 27/04/2019 18:49

Grrrr! Another long post lost.
Hello blahblah !
You definitely need to take at least one rest day a week. I aim to do JM workouts 5 days out of 7.

L2 D5 complete.

Thanks @Sturmundcalm @clearsommespace 👍🏼 L1 D2 completed

BendydickCuminsnatch · 28/04/2019 16:14

Helloooo sorry this has probably been asked before but just want a quick answer before I start tonight - what could I do instead of a jumping jack? I wet myself every time I jump, was just in the garden trying to do some skipping and it was just flowing out of me Blush sorry tmi! Shred worked well for me when getting married but that was pre kids.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 28/04/2019 16:14

I can run so maybe running on the spot? Doesn’t feel as high impact though!

clearsommespace · 28/04/2019 16:32

How about high knees? It's in L2 Shred.
Or fast squats? Or spotty dog?
I don't think it has to be high impact. Anything that gets your heart racing will do!

L2 D6 this morning. I managed all the hideous V raises with 2kg weights but my arms have been sore since.

OP posts:
Sturmundcalm · 28/04/2019 21:29

running should be fine but what about that march thing she does in some of the warm ups - opposite arm to leg?

although you may struggle with some of the other moves as i found the likelihood of having to break for an emergency loo visit was much higher with skipping type jumps (especially high jumps) than it was with jumping jacks.

just had to look up spotty dog, might be giving away how clueless I am... 6w6p, day 2 done - slightly concerned that no part of me is screaming considering how i felt at this point of the Shred and Ripped in 30 Hmm although I do really struggle with the side moves - the plank one I just struggle to do, while the crunch feels like it's putting a strain on my neck.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 28/04/2019 23:06

Thanks for the suggestions! God id forgotten I have those rockstar jump things to come.... Day 1 of Level 1 done tonight 😄 hopefully my pelvic floor will improve but actually think it’s getting worse!

clearsommespace · 29/04/2019 20:16

Spotty Dog is what Davina McCall calls it.
I don't remember what JM calls it but she uses the same move.

I have improved my pelvic floor muscles over the past couple of years by stopping the flow every time I pee. I used to not be able to do it at all and now I can I am trying to reduce the no. of seconds it takes.

L2 D7 today. L3 is in sight....

OP posts:
Sturmundcalm · 30/04/2019 08:04

6w6p, day 4 done. and while no part of me is shrieking i'm starting to feel muscles in my abdomen which i'm taking as a good sign Wink

think my form is getting better too - although had to look up how to breathe during supermans as she's not v clear on that one.

clearsommespace · 01/05/2019 07:49

I'm sure it is a good sign!

@blahblahblah9 how are you getting on?

L2 D8 yesterday and D9 today.

OP posts:
clearsommespace · 01/05/2019 08:12

@BendydickCuminsnatch
It you feel like it is getting worse you should be careful which ab moves you do.

My post-birth physiotherapist explained that some can have a negative effect on your pelvic floor.

It's explained here:

www.pericoach.com/2016/06/24/exercising-core-muscles-without-damaging-pelvic-floor/

I am wondering about getting Yoga Inferno to do after finishing the Shred.
It's that or 6W 6Pack again.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/05/2019 14:46

Thanks Clear I will definitely read that link.

Day 3 Level 1 done - skipped weds and tues as genuinely didn’t have a spare 20 mins! - and included jumping jacks without weeing so maybe my problems aren’t as bad as I’d thought 😄 yay!

clearsommespace · 02/05/2019 16:58

L2 D10 done. Good bye v raises.Grin

Fab news about the jumping jacks!

OP posts:
Sturmundcalm · 03/05/2019 16:54

well done on the jumping jacks bendy - good news considering how keen she is on them in the Shred!

clear I had a look at different DVDs but slightly hesitant about them as I like the 3-2-1 routine in both the Shred and Ripped and most of the others seem to be a different format. Am currently a bit concerned that I'm going to lose the (small!) muscles built up in my upper arms cause 6W6P doesn't have any of the strength stuff really...

did day 5 on Wednesday, rest days yesterday and today (although hill walked Wed night and this morning) then back to it tomorrow.

clearsommespace · 03/05/2019 17:32

Yes I did feel like I lost a bit of arm strength when I did 6W6P but it came back quickly.

It's probably best to mix up the different DVDs. But I am better at sticking to it if I set myself a DVD to complete rather than just aiming to do a JM routine 5 times a week.

D1 L3 today. Enjoyed it! I do have to grit my teeth to get through L2.

OP posts:
Sturmundcalm · 03/05/2019 17:47

glad you enjoyed level 3 - it is definitely pleasanter than level 2! and I think I'm like you, would rather have the focus of working my way through a DVD and being "told" what to do Grin

Sturmundcalm · 06/05/2019 13:37

days 6, 7 and 8 done - and fitted in another hill walk this morning.

don't know what was up with me yesterday but I really struggled and actually abandoned any attempt to do the second set of burpees and just did some high knees instead, seemed to be ok today though.

Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred etc
BendydickCuminsnatch · 06/05/2019 13:58

I am technically on day 8 now but have only don’t 4 sessions. Going to fit one in tonight hopefully but I did do 20 mins in the garden this morning in case I don’t make it tonight. I did 10 mins running and 10 mins aerobics so probably not as effective as shred but glad I did it. Need to move more in my daily life that while the kids play in the garden I’m going to workout!

clearsommespace · 06/05/2019 22:26

Wow! Beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing! Are you in Scotland?

Did L3 D2 yesterday. Rest today on the sport front. Looong working day.
