Checking in - I started really well with L1, but this week at work I've felt like a cartoon character with a grand piano falling on her out of the sky and haven't managed to do any more. DD and I went for a run this afternoon, and I'll try and fit in the second day of Ripped tomorrow morning. The next three weeks are horrendous at work, so I'll do what I can when I can, but it may not be much.

affectionincoldclimate · 08/09/2018 22:50

L1 day 7 done. Starting L 2 tomorrow. Oddly I really started perfecting the form so feel bit sad it's time to change.

@NefretForth Glad to have you back and brilliant you'll be joining in, even if occasionally between dodging falling pianos Grin Done is better than perfect as they say!

clearsommespace · 09/09/2018 07:42

L2 D1 done.
It wasn't as bad as I remembered Shock although I may regret saying that. Grin
I still had to take a break halfway through the plank cardio. I would like to manage it in one go. Maybe by Day 7....

I really like some of the moves such as the stork with rows. I think my balance and coordination is quite good.

I started Ri30 yesterday but i’m (trying) to do no scroll September so can’t post! After not exercising since mid-August, it was a hard slog and I’m not sure I like the shorter intervals...my right knee also felt a bit clicky and uncomfortable by the end, so not sure I’ll be able to continue.
Anyway, just a quick wave hello and a wave of pom poms before I get back to my non-scrolling and put my sports gear in for Day 2!

affectionincoldclimate · 09/09/2018 23:24

L2 day 1 done. Shelley graduated to Advancers position and looking very smug. I forgot that Jillian does slightly creepy flirty drill seargant impression in that one. Also, lot of the positions are really awkward. I seem to remember nothing from this workout. Mainly because I last did it all the way through in my post baby sleep deprived fug

It's all about the abs isn't it? I'm certainly feeling them quite keenly tonight!

Goodnight everyone!

Lovely to see you pop in @babyinthacorner Smile

clearsommespace · 10/09/2018 06:18

L2D2 done.

Right, I’ve been a bit lax at recording my exercise. Yesterday I did 30DS L2D6, and I’ve just done Ri30 L1D4. At least I think that’s right...

affectionincoldclimate · 10/09/2018 23:01

L2 day 2. Really felt the effects of last night in my core today so it was hard work but it is done so that's all that counts!
Grin

DontRecogniseMyself · 10/09/2018 23:28

Hi, can any of you suggest the best JM workout for toning my tummy please? I am going to start exercising and have done 30DS but have to say I noticed very little difference in tummy tone. Was thinking of trying one of her other workouts that really focuses on abs.

clearsommespace · 11/09/2018 06:17

Ripped L2D3. Yesterday was tough but today it was like I got my second wind. Still have to take a break during the evil plank cardio.

Don'trecognise I found the Shred did make a difference so I don't know what to suggest. I've never tried "6 week 6 pack" but the reviews are good. In fact I may give it a go when I've finished Ripped in 30.

DontRecogniseMyself · 11/09/2018 09:24

Thanks, perhaps I need to do 30DS again and put more effort in! Will check out 6 week 6 pack too.

OublietteBravo · 11/09/2018 19:29

I really like 6 Week 6 Pack (in fact I did 6W6P L2 this evening).

The levels are very different. Level 1 is nearly all floor work, and level 2 is mostly standing exercises (and much more ‘cardio’ if that makes sense). I tend to alternate between the two levels (rather than doing a block of L1 followed by a block of L2). When I first did it I could really feel my abs afterwards.

DontRecogniseMyself · 11/09/2018 20:56

Thanks I might check it out.

NefretForth · 11/09/2018 21:42

Hi, DontRecogniseMyself, I found Killer Abs really good - I had noticeably more defined abs after I'd done all three levels.

affectionincoldclimate · 11/09/2018 22:41

Checking in with a stretch day. Needed it!

@DontRecogniseMyself I'd say check your diet. I find I see results really quickly if I make sure my diet is balanced and I have lots of protein during the day balanced with good carbs and veg. I've been lax recently snacking a lot on sugary carbs (blame the office and everyone returning from holidays with bloody treats) and I can see that although I'm week into RI30 my muscles are not popping in such a defined way as they would if I was eating well. Jillian has a diet online - won't set the world on fire but it's a good guide on balancing meals well.

DontRecogniseMyself · 11/09/2018 22:49

Wow thanks for all the replies. Honestly my diet is pretty awful. Partly as I was a little underweight and so was trying to gain a bit of weight all over. I did gain a bit everywhere but a fair bit on tummy. Anyway I will stop hijacking your thread now, thanks!

ErrolTheDragon · 11/09/2018 23:51

Yesterday went pear shaped for reasons beyond my control but I did 3DSL1D5 this morning.

clearsommespace · 12/09/2018 08:33

Ripped L2 D4 and then I finally got round to doing the neck stretching yoga that affectioninacoldclimate linked to upthread. Very relaxing.

I'm going to have to google Killer Abs now....

OP posts:
OublietteBravo · 12/09/2018 19:15

Ri30 L1D5. I’m assuming I do 7 days at each level (mostly because they are referred to as week 1, week 2, etc. and there are 7 days in a week). So 2 more days to go before L2.

affectionincoldclimate · 12/09/2018 22:37

L2 day 3 done although admittedly only two rounds as I have a stinking cold the very snotty DD bequeathed to me so I stopped and I started feeling a bit grim but glad I did it nonetheless.

@clearsommespace isn't lovely Jen fab? Apart from the chat about talent shows. She does really great stretch vids. There are more!

@DontRecogniseMyself you're not hijacking. It's all part of the package as far as I'm concerned Grin Just sharing experience though - not an expert in any shape or form. If you were underweight then I'd be careful with controlling the diet. Maybe making it as nourishing as humanely possible with food that gives you energy and muscle mass.

clearsommespace · 13/09/2018 07:34

affection hope you and DD feel better soon.

oubliette I'm aiming for 7 days of each level

L2 D5 complete this morning. I also had a fast forward through L3 to remind myself of what's in store.....(I haven't done L3 for several years)..... bear crawls, fast jumping lunges, duck walk. Eek!

Sturmundcalm · 13/09/2018 20:25

1 more day left of 30DS level 2 - can anyone assure me that level 3 is easier on your knees???

ErrolTheDragon · 13/09/2018 21:53

Yesterday was a volunteering day so I did hours of raking and balsam bashing instead of formal exercise. So today was L1D6.

affectionincoldclimate · 13/09/2018 22:58

Thank you @clearsommespace

Unfortunately I have a full blown head cold. Got home after work full of snot and managed this which felt heavenly but that's all I could muster. Sad

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mh9jHxbUUyw

Can't wait to get back on that wagon with you my fellow Shredders and Rippers (doesn't sound quite right but too tired to think of anything better! Wink)

clearsommespace · 14/09/2018 07:24

Take it easy affection

sturm I think it is a bit less tough on knees apart from the rock star jumps but you could subsitute those with something else cardio.

L2 D6 Ripped for me this morning. I can do the plank cardio without a break now but a mix of high impact and low impact.

Rest day tomorrow. Looking forward to pizza which is a rare treat in this house. (DD doesn't like pizza (!) but she is going to a sleepover.)
