Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

Reastie they were probably looking at your food thinking 'I really should eat more veg like Reastie does'. Very good news about your weight staying the same.

Chalean this morning. Might run tomorrow if I get up early.

Purple well done on nearly completing 21 day fix! Interesting how we all have different workouts that at hard. I think Sweat Intervals starts easier than Cardio and only gets impossible for the last 10 minutes when I am pretty much on my last legs anyway!

Hope you 're having nice weekends Roman and Insanity

Purpleraindeer · 07/05/2018 17:28

Hope everyone has enjoyed the warm weather and any runs happened early in the day. Was much too hot for running here after 10am

Did power strength extreme yesterday and then lower fix today. I felt tired though - normally I have a rest day after a long run and I didn’t this week and it made a difference. Didn’t actually finish lower fix today as my band snapped during the last round ShockShock it was looking a bit old and frayed so it wasn’t my super strength! It did give me a fright though.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 07/05/2018 18:14

Purple the band snapped?!! Hope it didn’t ping on you and hurt you [bitter experience]

Yesterday did a gentle run to ease back in with questionable run, today did 30 min BA but gently. Trying to be good to my back and not go crazy. I’m so excited though as they’ve finally added some new BA onto LMOD. Turns out the really hard release I was complaining about on my ba class wasn’t release 100 I don’t think. Looking forward to trying 100 and hoping it isn’t even harder!!

yumyumpoppycat · 07/05/2018 19:05

Ooh enjoy Reastie! Well done on not pushing yourself too far.

Purple that isn't nice about your band snapping, hope you weren't too startled. Sounds like it was good that you cut things short though.

It is very weird for me at the moment as I am finding myself actively wanting to exercise Shock so for the first time I can understand when people struggle to fit in a rest day.

Did another run walk session yest (8-9 ish so not hot!) my left leg still hurts a bit if I put my weight on it but nothing major. Not sure how far I ran as map my run stopped working (having 3 things running on my phone is pushing it I think!)

Chalean weights again this morning.

I am beginning to wonder if Richie Howie have kidnapped roman ...

Theromanempire · 07/05/2018 20:15

Evening! I'm still here and haven't been kidnapped Wink

I have been reading the thread but have been so busy I haven't had a chance to post (can only post from my laptop as I can't be bothered typing long messages on my phone!)

Love that everyone is keeping up with the workouts in this heat - definitely makes it more challenging doesn't it? I haven't managed the final week of 80DO as time has been against us this week aswell so have been doing some ALO workouts instead as they are only 30 minutes (Saturday, we did 2 of them back to back much to DH's annoyance Grin) I did notice that they seemed slightly easier than when we did them previously before we started 80DO which is obviously great. Think I am going to do a bit of a mix this week aswell as, again, due to the football and cricket season colliding at the moment, DS1 is literally playing one or the other every night this week Hmm so time to workout will have to be snatched wherever (might even have to restart the 5am workouts again Shock Shock)

In other news I have lost 10 lbs now since the beginning of April (so 5 weeks) which is just fantastic. Have got to grips with the diet now and generally hitting the macros that I need to every day. I am not even tempted to cheat on it either which is unheard for me. I plan my food for the day ahead, there is plenty of wriggle room for treats if I plan well so I am not feeling deprived and the discovery of Halo Top icecream has been an absolute godsend - half a tub of delicious ice cream for about 160 calories and high in protein!!! Total Team RH convert now Wink

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 07/05/2018 23:58

That is absolutely Brilliant Roman - well done Star Sounds like Richie Howie knows his stuff! Actually you have converted me to healthy/low cal ice cream - I had some Oppo caramel ice cream today and it's not hagen das, but it is really nice having a bowl in the garden on a sunny day and didn't send me off into carb craving mode. Well done on improving on your 30 min workouts too!

InsanityRocks · 09/05/2018 06:18

Morning everyone!

Hope you all had a good bank holiday. I was away which was lovely but eaten too much and done no exercise. Was back on it yesterday with total body core but last night in the garden managed to catch my sandal in a metal bird feeder (FFS!) and tripped, cutting up my whole leg, wrenching my shoulder and landing with my face in the nettles I was trying to pull out Grin
This morning I set my alarm to do workout super early because really long day at work and my toes are black and really hurt to walk on so I'm going to have to rest for a few days. So annoyed with myself!

Thermo - that's brilliant, well done! I don't understand macros, but I should really look into it I think, I'm eating really badly at the moment.

Yum - I love that feeling of wanting to exercise, I think it happens when you feel really strong and is great feeling.

Yule - I'm struggling with the acronyms- is BA body attack? Not sure what kind of workout that i. Enjoy it whatever it is

Purple - I'm scared of this happening. Did it hurt?

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 09/05/2018 19:37

Insanity that sounds like the kind of thing I’d do! Hope you recover feeling quickly and aren’t too bruised from that excitement. Yes BA is body attack, it’s great fun, lots of jumping/running and high diving (myself!).

Thermo that’s fascinating about the macros. I didn’t really know what it was so have been gooogling and it makes so much sense. You’re making me want to try it!

Yumy I love that you actually want to exercise now, it’s a brilliant feeling isn’t it, like an internal need.

Well, I am not doing well here. After Monday’s gentle BA being careful about the back I did body balance yesterday and skipped the back track. All was ok, a bit tweaky but ok. Got up this morning and something clicked or moved or something and just by side stepping I was in agony with sharp pain. Has worn off from sharp pain but walking slowly and weirdly. Seeing physio tomorrow, grrrr. Please let it get better soon! So I’m wondering if despite the tweaky feeling I should go for a walk tomorrow assuming it’s not sharp pain or just have a day off. Any advice? I have to say it doesn’t feel like it’s helping walking today but maybe it’ll feel a bit better tomorrow..

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 09/05/2018 19:38

High diving? I mean fiving silly autocorrect. High diving sounds more tom daly!

yumyumpoppycat · 09/05/2018 23:44

Grin high diving sounds fun too!

Oh no poor both of you Flowers - Rest is def in order. I wouldn't take a chance with your back Reastie - esp if you have an appointment tomorrow where you can get professional advice.

Insanity poor you that sounds horrendous, black toes Shock you are being very brave! hope you are all better soon.

I did sweat intervals and clearly I am deluded - it is hard as f*&k. Not sure if it was because I forgot to select modifier, or because I had a fast yesterday or that it was quite hot but I struggled big time! I do still quite like it for some reason, perhaps because of the last 30 seconds where they all get In a circle and cross jab or whatever it is - because I can actually do the move so ends on a high.

InsanityRocks · 10/05/2018 07:23

High diving sounds ace Grin
I agree with Yum, so frustrating but better to see the physio first.

I am definitely not brave - I phoned my sister to ask her what to do as i couldn't cope with the blood, I made her feel faint so we decided we both better have a lie down in a bath Grin
no excuses today, going to get up and do legs workout of 80do, it's only 40 mins and one of my favourite workouts.

I love sweat intervals, though I am not sure I could face it at the moment, it seems so fast compared to 80do, I hope that doesn't mean I've lost loads of fitness.

Really hope your back is feeling better today Yule. Have a good day everyone.

Theromanempire · 10/05/2018 12:08

Insanity ouch that sounds painful! Hope you recover quickly but major kudos for still working out. I know what you mean about worrying about your fitness - I feel the same with 80DO. I am definitely getting stronger but I do worry that it is at the detriment of my cardio fitness. I used to do Speed 2.0 etc a lot but now the thought scares me Confused I do a Cardio Core workout once a week which I love plus Clubbercise which isn't that intense (but so so much fun!)

Reastie same to you - hope your back improves soon and you get some useful information from the specialist.

Yum yes, I love that feeling of wanting to work out - you are properly in the zone!

Managed Dirty Dozen and the ALO booty workout last night even though I didn't get started till after 7 so I was so close to just not bothering. I told myself that I would just do Dirty Dozen but knew that once I got going, I would be ok and carry on to do another and I was right - love the power of exercise Smile

OP posts:
YuleABUnREASTIEable · 10/05/2018 12:47

I think different workouts give you different levels of fitness in different things. When I did insanity I was really good on cardio but doing something like p90x or pump made me much stronger but I noticed my cardio fitness wasn’t as good following those than more insanity type stuff. I loved the feeling of being stronger though and think I prefer doing more weights stuff than cardio (despite being predominantly cardio now). I don’t think one is better than the other necessarily, they just offer different things. Don’t they say if you build muscle then your BMR goes up so you burn more calories at rest? I always like the sound of that!

No workout this morning, have been doing housework and various chores in the computer. Going to see physio soon, see you on the other side.

Yumy I have days where a workout I’ve nailed loads in the past one day seems really hard for no reason. I find that last move weird as I also find it really doable but it feels like for the last move I should be doing a really hard move to finish off collapsed on the floor like I’ve given it my all —although in fairness I often do that anyway—

Purpleraindeer · 11/05/2018 12:49

Hello!
Sorry to hear about all the injuries. Hope you’re all on the mend.

Roman that’s fab about the weight Star I’m really pleased for you. I do think upping protein is the way forward as you get so much less hungry. You’ve sold me on halo ice cream. Even DH likes it. Yum.

Brilliant that you’re in the exercise zone poppy. I’m finding the same with running at the moment - I’m really enjoying it. I managed to get out for a run on Tuesday evening which was great - the sun was out, it was lovely countryside - was perfect.

I’ve started max30 again. Shock it is soooo much faster than 21dfx. I got quite a shock. Is good to be back, although Poppy’s comment about it being hard as f&ck was ringing in my ears after 5mins.

yumyumpoppycat · 11/05/2018 16:16

Grin Purple. Max 30 is on another level isn't it. Are you feeling good for your half marathon in the summer?

Reastie how was your appointment?

Wow roman well done on your double when you were on the verge of skipping!

Insanity lol at you and your sister needing a lie down! Hope it's al settling down.

I did chalean weights today then straight away went walk 'running' by doubling up on week 3 of couch to 5k, I did 7 k but it took me an hour which is walking speed {crying emoticon} I did a fast yesterday and didn't eat until after exercise so maybe it was that?

One of the parks I went through is fairly scenic but you get really big groups of people with dogs taking up the whole footpath , I walked past them by going on the grass but a dog still jumped at me grrr. My dp was cross at me for not saying anything to them.

Theromanempire · 12/05/2018 07:42

Reastie what did the physio say? Hope it was good news Smile

Purple DH does not get any of my Halo top icecream Grin I keep telling him that if he won't commit to this diet with me then he isn't getting any of the good stuff that comes with it Wink He needs to lose a good 5 stone but he plays around pretending he is dieting and then has a massive plateful of food for tea etc - really pisses me off! He keeps saying that he'll do the Team RH diet but as soon as I start talking about MFP and macros to him he just says he cant be arsed with the faffing Angry My aim is to lose tons of weight, look fabulous and then guilt him into actually taking action Wink

Did a 60-minute walk on Thursday night and rest day yesterday. The end of our walk was up a massive steep hill which I was dreading (it is probably over 1km long - gradual incline to start and then ends up with a huge incline for about 200-300 metres). Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised that I managed it without getting too out of breath so maybe my cardio fitness isn't that bad after all!

Not sure what we are going to do tonight - can't decide . Maybe a 21df upper followed by a CDF workout.

Have a good weekend Smile

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 12/05/2018 19:15

Roman your DH sounds like mine! Mind you mine is annoyingly naturally quite slim so wouldn’t need to put too much effort in to losing weight, but just doesn’t see the point. Maybe he just needs something simpler? Apparently Atkins diet is great for blokes as the rules are really straightforward so no faffing.

On the other hand the diet and exercise regime you’ve got going seems to be working brilliantly for you, so your plan of doing it and then looking awesome is also a good one! Grin

Poppy that’s bad about the dog owners. I think they don’t realise that non dog lovers don’t like jumping dogs and that we all think they’re adorable Hmm. People round here are really good and always hold their dogs if they think they might bark or jump.

I’m feeling pretty good for my half mara. 11 miles again today on a lot more hills. Was a bit tired the last mile but pretty ok. Was all rural and I startled a herd of deer who then all bounded off. I love it when I see stuff like that. I’m currently considering bribing DH to put the kids to bed as I can’t be bothered to get off the sofa now I’ve sat down....

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 12/05/2018 19:46

Thermo cardio fitness sounds great to get up monster hill. Hopefully your dh will see how well macros are going for you and be convinced.

Purple I can’t believe how quickly you’ve managed to stack the miles up, home workouts keep you super fit!

Yumy I’ve had this issue with dogs and actually now avoid running off road as I got so fed up with dogs, I even got nipped on the leg by one. It’s rewlly annoying and I share your frustration. I wish dog owners would realise I don’t want dogs running up to me and chasing me. I’m obviously avoiding dogs and looking nervous and usually flail my arms around nervously but I’m too British to complain to them so either do the British thing of smiling and saying it’s ok when they apologise or in my stronger moments give evil eyes.

Well, physio has said nothing wrong with disc etc which is good but I need to rest my back from workouts. I’ve got exceptionally gentle stretches I’m doing twice a day (child’s pose type things) and I’m only allowed 3 gentle slow runs of up to 30minutes this week. She said all being well I will be back to where I was workout wise in a month, a month! Gah. I did a slow 25 min run this morning but I’m feeling desperate for a proper workout tomorrow which has to be a rest day. Boo!

Theromanempire · 13/05/2018 20:07

reastie I know it is frustrating but you need to listen to the physio...a months gentle exercise/rest now is better than a longer period of enforced rest because you've done more damage!

So, didn't do anything yesterday but did the planned double today. Main highlight was my ability to do press-ups...before 80DO, I could maybe do 10 (on a good day) in the position below before having to move to box press-ups. Today I managed 20 in each of the 2 rounds before moving to a box press up! However both me and DH remembered how hard doing a move for a minute is 😫

That’s good about your back reastie. It’s hard being restricted for a while but a month will fly by. Maybe it’s an opportunity to try some different things - could you swim, yoga etc?

Woo hoo roman that’s great about the push ups! And yes, 1min reps are hard. Autumn always says ‘you can do anything for a minute’ and I always inwardly grind my teeth. I did tabata power last night - one of my max 30 faves. You only have to do the moves for 20secs. Lovely.

yumyumpoppycat · 14/05/2018 08:21

Reastie that must have been so scary when the dog nipped you. I seem to be getting increasingly afraid of them had an incident at the weekend where I freaked out a bit Blush It sucks about your back - what about going back to swimming would that be allowed?

Purple 20 seconds sounds much more doable for pushups Grin well done roman on good form for a minute that is fantastic.

Did my 7k in 45 minutes this weekend

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 14/05/2018 13:00

Now I’ve dropped my gym membership I can’t really go swimming as I don’t have access to pool. My local one is really dirty and has a name for itself locally as a bit of a germ haven .

Very slow 25 min run this morning, doing my best to be good! Alas purple I can’t even do yoga as physio doesn’t want me twisting.

Yumy maybe I should have made a running Tshirt that has a message about keeping dogs away from me! I actually thought about buying one of those high pithced whistles that we can’t hear that dogs can to try to deter them away from me. The plan was to run and when I see a dog blow it to keep it away from me but it turns out different dogs need the whistle on different frequencies so it wouldn’t work.

Thermo that’s fabulous on the pushups

yumyumpoppycat · 14/05/2018 15:26

Ah that's a shame abut swimming Reastie, you don't want an illness on top of injury! How funny that different dogs need different whistles.

Purpleraindeer · 14/05/2018 18:18

On the dog thing some dogs think you’re wanting to play with them when you’re running so get excited and jump. DH (massive dog lover) has always told me to slow down/stop and not make eye contact with the dog. I think the other thing to do is call out to the owner to hold or call their dog.
I’m not surprised you’re a bit scared reastie. I would be too if I had had a nip.

yumyumpoppycat · 16/05/2018 21:03

Good tip about eye contact Purple I didn't know that.

Tabata power today - 20 seconds suddenly seems much longer! I am so rubbish at tricep pushups even on my knees. I really need to focus on improving them as I genuinely want to be able to do them.
