Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

Thanks yumy, love the mental image of her cycling round London eating blue cheese at the same time! I am an anxious person and whilst I’d love another dc I’ve almost become phobic of pg after my previous experiences where I was literally bedbound with terrible pregnancy nausea for the whole 9 months (I have emetophobia which didn’t help!). Last time I was on medication and signed off from 4 weeks to give you an idea of how much my body doesn’t sent like being pg! Right now I’m trying to enjoy every single workout thinking I don’t know when I’ll be up to them again.

yumyumpoppycat · 14/03/2018 18:10

Oh god that sounds awful Reastie, hopefully it will be different. Def enjoy your workouts without worrying for as long as pos x

Purpleraindeer · 14/03/2018 21:51

I was just coming on to post something about cvx which I did this evening. (It’s still hard basically!) and then saw reasties much more exciting posts!

There is such limited understanding of what causes miscarriage so I think any answer you get is a bit of a guess. I had a LOT of miscarriages and docs always told me it was overwhelmingly likely that it was a problem with the embryo rather than something I had done. The actual advice is to do the same level of exercise you’ve always done. My friend did a triathlon in her first trimester. Having said all that - I immediately stopped exercise when I got pregnant as given my history I didn’t want to take any chances

Sounds like you had a rough pregnancy so no wonder you’re a bit anxious. Doesn’t mean it will happen again though - I had a horrific (think vomiting 4x per day for 5mths) pregnancy first time round but my second was much easier so fingers crossed and Flowers

Theromanempire · 15/03/2018 11:00

reastie how exciting Smile Fingers crossed that we have our first Beachbody baby! I agree with purple that you can't assume all pregnancies will be the same so hopefully this one would be easier than the first. Hope the pain has gone away and turns out to be nothing.

It was me that did BA up to 7 months pregnant although both my pregnancies were very straight-forward and I was not doing any jumping at all for the last couple of months (for example in the running track, I would stand in the corner and march whilst everyone else was running around). Clearly I don't think it would be recommended if there were any complications. The advice seems to be it is ok to continue exercise at the level you were doing before and listen to your body. Also, the one definitive piece of advice I was given was to not do any abs work that involved you lying on your back as apparently this can cause problems so, again, I just modified and did my own thing on all fours instead (or just sat the abs track out altogether!)

In other news, another NSV for me yesterday. Did Cardio Core which involves doing burpees (proper ones with a push up) for 30 seconds at a time. I actually managed full push-ups in these which involved me going much further down than my attempts last week Grin In fact, I would go as far as saying they actually looked like a proper push-up! Autumn does 6 burpees/pushups in the 30 seconds whereas I only managed 3 each time but I was so impressed with my push ups, I wasn't bothered Wink I also did proper side plank hip drops on Monday so not resting on my knee. There is definite progress happening even if my body isn't changing visually as much as I would want Smile

Thank you, I’m sort of dreading it but willing to go through it again for the end result iykwim. Was due to have a quick pop to the gym this morning but got really bad tummy troutlets involving lots of loo trips (sorry for tmi) which I have pin pointed to my prenatal vitamins! So have had to stop them and meant an extra rest day (boo) but I’m looking forward to a dvd on Saturday, maybe BA.

Thermo I’m seriously impressed by BA up to 7 months pg and that’s a fantastic NSV.

Purple I think cvx was one I hated doing but it felt like it was good for me iykwim.

yumyumpoppycat · 15/03/2018 20:59

Reastie a lovely baby will be totally worth it {gets broody}
Rest day today.

Roman that is amazing about your full push-ups well done.

Purpleraindeer · 16/03/2018 17:06

Wow - great NSV roman. I quite like burpees but the ones you’re talking about with the press up are hard. Fab! Good on the side planks too - your core is obv loads stronger. I bet your shape has changed you just haven’t noticed it yet. I’m also very impressed with BA at 7mths pregnant. I was just sat on the sofa by that point (and I had a back to back birth proving Poppy’s point!)

Woke up feeling so sore. I did 4 days of p90x3 in a row and I felt it this am! Rest day today. Had a burger for lunch but in a nod to healthy eating I asked for it with salad Blush

Theromanempire · 16/03/2018 19:01

purple just to disprove the point, DS1 was back to back despite doing BA whilst pregnant Grin

I had a goats cheese and tomato tart for lunch (which was bloody amazing) but also had salad with it to balance it out and a large dollop of mayonnaise

Just done Speed 2.0 as DH isn't here tonight so had to do something not 80 DO. Just did 4 continuous push ups too just to see how many I can do - the answer was 4 Wink

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 16/03/2018 22:19

Grin how weird we were all back to backers!

4 is really good! I wish I could pushup properly, I was better but seem to have lost it Confused

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 17/03/2018 06:34

To dispel the back to back thing I was literally bed bound most of my pg and never really left the house and did absolutely no exercise and didn’t even really wak much as I also had spd and dd wasn’t back to back!

Looking forward to a workout this morning after 2 days off and eating a lot this past week and feeling very fat. Think I’ll do BA but now I’m not sure if I should do abs work just in case I could be pg in 2ww but I’m presuming it’s fine to do until I know it’s I’m actually pg (??)

Purpleraindeer · 17/03/2018 17:03

I thought the ab exercise thing was more when you got a bit further on in pregnancy actually - when I got bigger with dd I used to immediately black out if I lay on my back - it’s to do with the placenta stopping blood flow. Seems like a massive human design flaw if you ask me

Very quiet day here. Am totally sick of winter and snow so I’ve opted out and refused to go outside. I did manage triometrics though. Got through the whole jack squats move which is a first.

Good work on the push ups roman. You could try doing that every day and adding one each time if you want to be able to do more. You’ll get it back poppy. I think doing Shaun t is the key - t25 and max 30 seem to be non stop push ups. After doing max30 for 60 days I beat DH in a press up challenge. He was a bit horrified.

yumyumpoppycat · 17/03/2018 17:25

Thanks Purple good idea - Shaun T tomorrow then.

Reastie I would also carry on with exercise without modifying if I were you - just try and keep things as normal as possible for as long as possible!

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 17/03/2018 17:42

Thanks. Did ba 45 mins this morning, 97 or 98, forget which, but really enjoyed it and even snuck in some burpees. LMOD are doing some upgrade work tomorrow between 9-10 so offline which is exactly the time I do my workouts! Will have a think about what B.B. or step workout I might do instead. Don’t fancy a run with the snow out even though the roads seem ok atm.

Purple gosh to blacking out lyin gon your back. I remember feeling percliar on my back so I didn’t do it and literally fantasising about when I could lie flat on my back again as I really missed it! Well done on the jack squats, they are evil.

yumyumpoppycat · 17/03/2018 17:53

Reastie I remember that - I got so sick of lying on my left side!

Purpleraindeer · 18/03/2018 15:20

Disaster here. My pull up bar is broken Sad. I did find a random bolt on the floor the other day and threw it away but now realise it was a vital part of the bar. I guess I should be relieved it didn’t fall off whilst I was mid pull up....
anyway - had to substitute the pull up moves in decelerator today but am hoping I can repair it.
Hope you’re all having a good day

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 18/03/2018 17:40

Oh no purple, is it a rummage in the bin job or is it too late for that/too grim to do?

Did stomp fx on you tube, mashed up some different ones to get a 50 minute workout. Wasn’t hard but wanted to take it a bit gently today. Hoping for dvd tomorrow but still haven’t decided what. Might have to be a quick one as dd has been unwell over the week end so may be off school tomorrow.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 19/03/2018 19:06

Hello all, hope you had a good Monday. I did the BA remix on LMOD today, really enjoy that one. Dh was sitting in the room I was doing it in doing paperwork which was a good thing because if someone is there when I workout I try extra hard! So I was dripping in sweat at times. There was one move in the agility track where you had to do a big step forward then to a high jump up with hands up in the air then another big step forwards and repeat. My room is quite small so I aimed to do one in the dining room then a big step into the kitchen for the second jump but misplaced myself and was too close to the door frame and my shoulders banged into the pull up bar and knocked it on the floor! So my pull up bar has been in the wars too purple. Usually things happen in 3s so if any of you have a pull up bar be very very careful with it!

Theromanempire · 20/03/2018 16:32

See that is why I do not have a pull-up bar - far too dangerous Wink Hope they can all be fixed again and made safe!

Did Phase 2 Total Body Core last night - that is one killer workout! Am dreading Phase 3 to be honest as me and DH are only just managing this one Hmm and the next phase takes it up another level! We currently modify 3 exercises in this one but I suspect there will be quite a few more in the next phase which I am not sure is the point. The modifier is pretty much just doing what the others are doing now so serves no purpose whatsoever Angry

Did 5 push ups last night but DH did say that I didn't go down very far - I thought I went quite a way down but I guess it looks totally different from outside Grin

Purpleraindeer · 22/03/2018 17:52

Hello!
I totally nailed cvx last night so I was pleased with that as normally I struggle with it. Sadly tried to repeat the feat with warrior today and struggled so I think my cvx triumph was more to do with doing it after 2 rest days rather than significant fitness improvement on my part. Never mind. My pull up bar needs a new nut and bolt which I haven’t bought yet so I’ll have to do some substitute workouts until I can get to a diy shop. This is a mixed blessing as I really hate pull ups but I know they’re good for me. Hope no one else has had a pull up bar injury to complete Reasties hat trick!

Well done on getting to phase 3 roman. You should try my trick of taking 2 days off and then trying one of those hard workouts. Being rested made a massive difference for me. (I may have also been eating cakes and scones and generally bad things for the last few days too so maybe that also gave me more energy Hmm ..... )

Purpleraindeer · 24/03/2018 16:01

I fixed my pull up bar and did a double today! Woo hoo! It was triometrics and then the challenge. I missed my Tuesday workout so was making up for it today.
Hope you’re all well Smile

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 24/03/2018 19:05

Good work purple, glad the bar is back in actoin. Mine is too although I haven’t been able to use it with my arm in over a year but it covers up areas that need repainting where it’s rubbed against the wood and I’d rather leave it up than patch up the paintwork Blush

So I’ve been very anxious about ttc and any symptom I got I was stressing I was pg. usually if I’m hungry I just put up with it but I’ve been eating because I was worried if I didn’t I’d start feeling sick like I did when pg which has led to too much eating (nothing bad, just too much) and feeling very dumpy and now my tummy is used to eating more I’m hungry more! AF yesterday so definitely no luck this month.

Have been talking to physio about my workout schedule. So I was roughly doing the following

Sat Run
Sun BA
Mon Step
Tues Body balance
Wed BA and Yoga
Thurs rest/cheeky bonus more gentle something
Friday rest

My knees have been playing up which I put down to my glute injury but she tested the glute strength which was poor before with dodgy knee and it was good now so it seems the knees are playing up because of the amount of cardio/jumping/leg based workouts I do without rest days. So, I’m suppose to now do three big cardio sessions a week with at least a day in between each and incorporate more strength work (which is so hard because of my shoulder and arm limiting me and meaning they aren’t proper workouts iykwim).

I’m going to try this
Sat BA
Sun mash up of strength with bits I can do from Pump as well as a LMOD core 15 min workout and gentle arm work
Mon Run
Tues body balance
Wed strength as above or maybe a legs workout
Thurs step or BA
Fri rest

Physio might eyeroll at only one rest day but I’m trying....I’ve got to keep working as I am putting on weight too quick

Hope everyone is having a good week end, nearly easter! Resist the chocolate!!

Purpleraindeer · 25/03/2018 12:52

6 Dpw would kill me reastie. There is evidence that good recovery is as important as the workouts as you can work harder and make bigger gains if you’re not tired. Can you do the p90x3 lower workouts. Or t25 lower focus?

Your comment re symptom checking when ttc really brought it all back to me. It is torture isn’t it? You have my sympathy!

Felt like I’d been run over a bus this morning after my double yesterday. And the hangover didn’t help things Grin. Limped through total synergistics which made me feel worse. Turns out it’s impossible to balance on 1 leg when hungover which basically made most of the workout impossible. I did nail crawly plyo push ups though. Big roast lunch now to see if I can cure myself. Diet has taken a bit of a back seat today......

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 25/03/2018 18:38

Purple I always thought you did the equivalent of a dvd pretty much ever day (although sometimes doubled up to catch up). How many do you do a week?

Did body pump leg tracks and modified other tracks. It’s been ages and the squats and lunges were hard work even without weights! But it was nice to do a pump dvd even if most of the time I was doing something completely different. If I don’t ache too much in the morning will do a run or step.

Theromanempire · 26/03/2018 10:24

Reastie sorry you haven't had any luck this month - at least you can have fun trying Wink I really feel for you in trying to decide what exercises you can do. Your injury must be so limiting so it is easy to see why cardio is the easiest option for you as you don't really need your arms for most moves. I think your schedule sounds ok - all you can do is give it a go and see how it feels but you need to listen to your body. Years of BA and Step have knackered my knees in which I think is quite common. Anyway, lecture over now Wink

Purple ooh exercising through a hangover is proper hardcore - high five! My hangover recovery exists of a McD's breakfast and lying around feeling sorry for myself Grin

Last week of phase 2 this week - am dreading it as the workouts go back to 2 x 15 reps and 15 half Turkish get ups are just the worst! One thing that me and DH have noticed during 80DO is how often Autumn goes wrong with what she is saying - shows how rehearsed the other programmes are! She gets the workouts confused, where you are supposed to put your bands, the counting of the reps - doesn't bother me but does make me laugh! However what does annoy me is she lectures on how it is not a competition with others about who is lifting more weights and how you have to just do the best you can then in the next breath is saying 'ooh what are you lifting - well if you are doing that, then so am I' Hmm

Also, I follow Joel from CDF on Facebook and he is announcing a new workout today (I think) - must be the next new launch after 80 DO has finished. That might answer my question as to what I can do after we have finished this Grin

Purpleraindeer · 28/03/2018 07:00

Reastie - I only exercise 5dpw and do doubles very rarely. I think you’re thinking of roman who does them loads

Roman - keep us posted on the next B.B. release. You’re like our official tester now! How has the first few days of phase 3 been?

I’ve officially nailed cvx. Having been a workout I dreaded and limped through I can now do it no problem and actually enjoy it Shock. So that’s progress. I’m really struggling to maintain my weight though. It’s my weekend eating I think and I don’t seem to be able to apply the same discipline. I guess it will be worse over Easter weekend too. Annoying. Have a good day everyone!
