Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

Purple that is so cute! My dd2 was complaining the other day as I give her remote controls to use as weights Grin In general though I tell them to keep clear as usually in a bad mood in the morning Blush well done on your run.

Roman you are describing how I feel about running to a T - the feeling afterwards is brilliant but during is horrendous. I would love to be able to properly run though.

I was feeling a bit mean to Chalean and wondered what is chalean wearing now in 2018 - nah - still not shopping at john lewis Grin

3rd chalean weights workout done this morning. I only went as high as 12lbs for this one but that was the main weight I used - I did wimp out at rep 7 for one move though - think it was a lunge and lift above head one (am rubbish at lunges)! The squat with 24lb weights were easy tbh as not really lifting just holding them only 3 reps. Hopefully insanity max 30 tomorrow - fingers crossed I survive the full 30 minutes!

tabata done but mostly modified - I have DOMS in weird places like the back of my knees and armpits Confused haven't been doing pullups so that's not the answer!

Purpleraindeer · 11/04/2018 18:46

Well done on tabata poppy? Presume was tabata power? That’s one of my faves as it does abs, arms and jumping around. Awesome. I bet it was the tricep section which has given you the under arm DOMS. No idea re behind the knees - impressive.
I’m all miserable and flabby here. I’ve been ill for a couple of days and not been fit to workout. Hopefully tomorrow. On the bright side I just bought some new leggings to wear outside the house - in a size 8. They are both a NSV and a mid life crisis! I can’t decide whether to keep them. I suspect DH might have a view.....

Purpleraindeer · 11/04/2018 18:47

Sorry I meant well done! Not well done?

Theromanempire · 12/04/2018 10:46

yum omg the double denim and ripped knees is really not good. I unfollowed her on FB as her posts were really annoying! Hope the DOMS are better (love some good DOM's - makes me feel that I have really worked out Grin)

Purple you know in your mind that 2 days of not working out is not going to cause flabbiness or unfitness Wink Maybe your body is telling you something? I can only dream of size 8 leggings so wear them with pride - bet they look fab Smile

Not much going on here - plugging on with the 80DO workouts and diet. Have only got 3 weeks left after this one so need to make decisions about what to do next. Interestingly, they have released weekly video diaries for the 80DO about them filming, previewing what is coming up that week etc. They released the last one at the weekend so I watched it and it showed before and after photos of the cast at the end of the 80 days - most of them barely looked any different Hmm There is 1 man who had no abs at the start (he wasn't fat - just no definition) who got abs and the modifier had toned up a bit. The others just looked like the after photos had been photoshopped to put some extra definition in as the skin colour had changed - very weird. I don't think it helped that they were all superfit and defined before so the changes were going to be less dramatic anyway but if they use those as publicity photos, I don't think it would help Grin

Charlene looks like she’s had work done to her face or a lot of botox, she doesn’t quite look real. Never one to shy away from brave fashion choices!! I got emails from her a while ago (not me personally, I think I must’ve signed up to her mailing list or something) but I unsigned up for them as they were really annoying trying to sell me things about making my life more enriching, in a hydrate your life type of way!

Thermo I bet the people on the video are regular workout people already and so they were more maintaining their level rather than looking for real differences (sort of like autumn).

Purple, you know we need pictures of the leggings!

Just had delivery of a full length mirror for the dining room on advice of physio so I can —admire myself when working out— check my form on moves. Got one as wide as I could but it’s just a regular mirror rather than an actual gym type mirror. I don’t particularly like the idea of a full length mirror in the dining room —watching myself eat— but it’s a necessary evil.

Did a legs workout yesterday morning then ended out doing a ski lesson in the afternoon, so legs are aching today! Not well planned at all.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 14/04/2018 10:52

Bodystep this morning and actually fell off my step ten mins in, a proper slip and fall Shock . Landed on my dodgy leg (of course which end weirdly tingly afterwards but pressed through and finished the workout, phew. Dh is setting up a trampoline for dd in the garden today and will probably have a go on that for some extra fitness points.

Purpleraindeer · 14/04/2018 16:24

It must be accident day today. I went for a run, was daydreaming a bit and suddenly found myself flat on my face. Was in some soft mud so no harm done apart from to my pride! Hope you’re ok too reastie.

Purpleraindeer · 14/04/2018 16:33

Sorry - me again - got interupted whilst posting!

That’s funny about the 80do cast roman. I suppose if they picked people who really would transform over 80 days we wouldn’t find them sufficiently inspirational in the workouts as they’d just look like all of us.

I missed a lot of workouts this week. Eventually after 4 days off (!) I did total synergistics yesterday and 7mile run today. Was supposed to be 6 but had to take a detour. Felt ok as I was moving very slowly but anticipate some sore legs tomorrow. And I feel a bit the same as everyone else on here about running - it’s ok and I don’t mind it, but I don’t love it. I would prefer a dvd. I live in nice countryside though so runnning gets me out to see that which I like. Hope you’ve all enjoyed the sunshine today.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 14/04/2018 16:39

My ankle and foot and hurting weirdly this afternoon, I think I might be an enforced rest day tomorrow as I have a feeling it’s going to ache more tomorrow.

Purple your fall doesn’t sound nice, I hope it wasn’t too muddy when you fell and well done for dusting yourself off and carrying on (with an extra detour too).

See, I really like running and look forward to going running but I only really enjoy the last 10 minutes as I know it’ll be over soon! I enjoy getting th fresh air and feel amazing afterwards which makes me do it. It’s the buzz afterwards that makes me want to do it rather than loving the whole run itself, although once I’ve got a steady pace and some good music time goes a lot quicker.

Theromanempire · 16/04/2018 09:32

Morning Smile

Hope all the injuries and twinges are feeling better today Smile

Finished week 9 of 80DO so only 3 weeks left to go Smile Did the Legs workout yesterday - I seem to sweat so much more doing a leg workout than any cardio workout and there is no cardio in the leg workouts Hmm

And my first weekly weigh in on Team RH and I was 2lbs down which I am pleased about (it is supposed to be a slow and steady diet) but kept waking up last night every hour or so desperate for a wee and then weighed myself this morning and I am 5lbs down on yesterday Shock I know daily fluctuations are normal but wasn't expecting this - I am wondering if it was an overnight 'woosh' effect? Am sure it will fluctuate back up again tomorrow but am enjoying it for now.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 17/04/2018 20:15

Thermo I remember Shaun t always saying in one of his workouts legs exercises make you sweat a lot as it’s such a big muscle group but I agree, it’s weird doing a non cardio type move but find it so heart beatingly challenging and feeling like it’s cardio. Have you weighed yourself again since to see what’s happened? Friendly my weight varies regularly 3-4lbs depending what time of day I weight myself.

So, I need some advice. After falling off my step on Saturday my back began hurting a lot after doing a core workout the next day. I had a day off workouts yesterday to try to rest it up and it seemed to be improving, barely a twinge today so took mysekkf for an off road bike ride. Was only 30 minutes (and my speed was so slow I could have actually run faster!) but when I finished and was getting off my bike my back twinged big style and has been feeling very very questionable.

Now, usually I’d do BA tomorrow morning but I realise this probably isn’t the best plan. So, should I have another rest day or despite thingy back should I try body balance (which is gentler but does have various twisting type moves, it’s like yoga and Pilates type stuff)? I’m thinking thr sensible answer would be another rest day but I’m getting fat and need to up the exercise not reduce it! But to get a proper bad back would be awful, it literally took over a year before I was recovered enough to do exercise without pain after a slipped disc some years ago...

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 17/04/2018 20:15

Friendly my weight?! I mean FWIW my weight

Purpleraindeer · 17/04/2018 20:17

Hi roman - my twinges and sore legs are better now but I really struggled yesterday! Running gives me terrible DOMS and the off road bits always make my ankles sore until I get used to it so i was like an old lady limping around. I did manage incinerator (upper body workout) on Sunday but I think limping through it is the best way to describe it. Have started 21dfx again as I finished p90x3. Autumn has killed me on day 1 with dirty 30. I know you like that one but it is so hard!

That’s amazing on the weight loss. I bet you feel really motivated now. 2lbs for the week sounds great and 5lbs overnight even if some of it comes back on it won’t all come back so that’s even better Star

Purpleraindeer · 17/04/2018 20:19

Cross posted with poppy. I’m sorry to hear about your back. Why don’t you try a stretch/strength workout like yoga or isometrix (can’t remember whether you have p90x3) - the stretching will help mobilise it but obviously stop if it starts to hurt.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 19/04/2018 10:17

Gah I’m trying so hard to be healthy here! So yesterday decided to do a nice walk in a local park before picking up dd as my workout (ok, it wasn’t a workout but I decided was better than giving myself more of an injury and was a bit of physical activity) as the weather was so good. Somehow I gave myself a painful blister! So the run I was going to try this morning didn’t work out. I did a bodybalance dvd instead but I can feel after nearly a week of gebtle workouts my fitness has reduced already! Hopefully will get it back soon. Have spotted my local leisure centre have BA classes at the week ends so going to ring up and see how I go about booking for next week end.

The body balance dvd I did had what’s her name archer mills in it. I didn’t realise she was Jackie mills’ daughter [palm face]. She was quite heavily pg in it and was doing better than me, she was amazing!

How is everyone doing in the hot weather?

InsanityRocks · 19/04/2018 17:17

Hello everyone, I have been lurking but thought I should say hi. I've done max 30 a few times and have now signed up to BBOD to do 80 day obsession. In the second week of phase 2 and really enjoying it at moment, though is tough. How have you found it overall Thermo? I feel like I've already toned up a lot but sadly I've also been eating more as I've been so hungry so no weight lost.
Rest day today and I'm glad as so hot, I don't think I could face it this eve.

Purpleraindeer · 19/04/2018 21:20

reastie - you know you haven’t lost fitness in a week! It will be back in no time.

Welcome insanityrocks. It’s good to have a fellow max30 convert on the thread. No idea re 80do but I do think autumn’s workouts are very effective. I’ve done 21dfx and am doing it again now and I’m properly sore from the workouts so it must be doing something right! I woke up this am and my bum and hamstrings meant I struggled to sit down. Dd thought that was hilarious. Did cardio fix extreme tonight and wasn’t as bad as I remembered - all of those times doing cvx must have had an effect after all. It was boiling hot though

Theromanempire · 20/04/2018 14:32

Insanity welcome out of the shadows Wink Glad to have another 80DO'er on here! I am really enjoying it - love the format of the workouts, have now got my head around some of them being an hour long and prioritising stuff to ensure I get them done. There are a few moves that I just cannot do (and the modifier is no use as she doesn't actually modify Hmm) so we are improvising a bit. The plank moves on sliders are always a struggle as my shoulders just are not strong enough to hold me up for long! We are also struggling with limited weights so I know I am not lifting as heavy as I could on a lot of exercises but have no heavier weights to use. I am only doing 4 x a week (not doing Cardio Flow or Booty) so am not having the full 'experience' but I just cannot fit 6 workouts in each week. Am currently on week 10 so only have 2 more to go after this Sad I am actually dreading it finishing as I will have to go back to devising my own hybrid plan which I was doing before but this generally results in me only choosing workouts I enjoy/are generally easy Grin I think I am definitely one of those people who needs telling what to do!!

Reastie you know in your heart that you do not lose fitness that quickly but totally appreciate how frustrating it must be for you. All credit for you in persevering trying to find something to do rather than just quitting altogether. A pay-as-you-go BA class sounds ideal!

Purple very Envy about the DOMS. I haven't had them for ages and I (strangely) love that feeling - makes you really feel that you are achieving something.

Welcome Insanity - love your name Grin please keep posting!

Roman - hopefully something new will be out soon that appeals to you as a program. I still think the ultimate BB program still hasn't happened!

How is your back Reastie?

Purple ouch re doms - I hate it in thighs worst of all!

We went away towards end of easter and I have failed to get on it for a few days but have done 2x Insanity m30 and 2 x chalean so not so bad!

Have a lovely weekend all

InsanityRocks · 20/04/2018 17:10

Thanks for the welcome all Grin

Purple - max 30 is the best. Perfect length, gives me a real high, and the lovely Shaun of course, but I got to the point where I knew it so well I'm not sure I was pushing anymore (plus going round saying to randoms 'it's not a coffee break people'). Also, I have actually got better results with 80days already but maybe because Max 30 prepared me for it

Thermo - I hear you, I totally need telling what to do. I will probably keep doing 80 days over and over until I find something else but it's just sooooo long. It doesn't actually feel long once I'm doing it but I have had to have some seriously early mornings to fit it in, and not sure how long I can keep it up for. I don't have nearly enough of a weight selection either. I am surprising myself with how much I am loving it and feeling stronger week by week but my range of weights is between 3 and 8kg though so definitely no Olympian!! I would love a set like the cast's but sadly not the fortune to get it with. How did you choose which workouts you do? I'm asking because Booty, in phase 2 at any rate, is my favourite. If I were doing less I would totally drop Cardio Flow. I loathe it. Was a massive shock the other day when I realized I actually had to do each exercise 6 times Shock

Hi Yumyum - thanks. I love talking about exercise, no one to discuss with in real life so lovely to find you all here.

Have a good weekend!

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 20/04/2018 17:53

Hello insanity! Interested you’re saying 80 day is more of a challenge than insanity max as I always imagine autumn as being easier than Shaun t. I’m interested to try the booty workout as I like the look of the use of bands and I really liked the band use over the legs on some abs moves when I tried a workout. Makes it so much harder!

Well, back fingers crossed is better than it was. Really really hoping for quick ba or run tomorrow morning before I have to take dd to a party. I know I haven5 lost all my fitness but it does go a bit when you have even a few days off (or at least it feels like it!).

Hope everyone has a good week end. I bough dd a slip slide -think I might join her-

InsanityRocks · 21/04/2018 05:48

Hi Yule, I think it's that's it - the combination of weights, sliders and bands seem to work everything more. The first week I had serious doms where I could barely sit down. My bum and legs have some real definition for the first time ever which is keeping me going, shallow I know Grin Sadly, my abs are still hidden.
Glad your back is better, I hope you get chance for a run or ba. Such a beautiful morning here.

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 21/04/2018 11:28

Insanity toned legs are a great development for summer!

can I have dedication points please. I got up at 6am this morning to sneak in a run before taking dd to a party. It was glorious weather and for a change I loved every second of it. Didn’t have time for anything epic but did 7.5k.

So I went to my local leisure centre about payg BA. You can prebook a space 5 dats in advance but chances are you’ll never get a spot. You can pay £40 a month to join the centre with a minimum period of 6 months and then you have to book on between midnight and before 6am a week before to be in with a hope of getting on. Given I’m usually asleep by 10pm that would mean setting my alarm for the middle of the night every week. Hmm, I’m not sure I would do that.

yumyumpoppycat · 21/04/2018 21:54

Crikey reastie that would be serous dedication to body attack getting up in the night!

Insanity that sounds like a really good result from 80 day workout!

I went for a run too - my god I felt unfit - I really struggle with breathing and go bright red. I managed about 3.5 - 4 k so not that impressive Blush Have downloaded track my run so might try bringing my phone next time.

Do people tend to bring water when they run? No-one at the park seemed to have any but I really felt like I needed some!
