Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

God Reastie must be pretty hard to give up sugar. I've attempted it a few times and never been able to stick it out. How long have you been doing that for? I've got hot chocolate but it never really satisfies me. Petits filous sounds real good though 😂 I also got the Halo top ice cream from Tesco so I feel less guilty about it.
Ah yes, muslin cloth or towel works very well in that situation. They tend to wee when the cold air hits so be on the look out 😂 well done on the cleaning! I remember bleach made me feel very sick and faint in the 1st tri so I avoided it thereafter 😂

Purple but it's totally a good pain right?
Smashing the workouts! Well done!!
I'm going to nab that potty training trick too as we're not there yet, thank you! 😂😂 it is hard and I'm with you in its the only bit of time I get to do some self care really. Occasionally I'll be able to do some other bits but they really are few and far between.

Yesterday I shuffled round my rest days so I took an extra one yesterday and I'm having one on Sunday instead. I'm glad I can flexible with it like that. I had my lashes lifted yesterday so I couldn't have a shower or put my lenses in and I HATE working out with glasses on 😠 so I decided to shuffle it round. Can't wait to get back on it tonight. It doesn't feel like 40 mins. It feels like half that, I love it so much!!

Theromanempire · 08/02/2019 15:56

Reastie congrats on having a boy - they are awesome!! I have to say that I had heard all these stories about boys weeing upwards into your face during nappy changes etc and neither of my 2 ever did that Grin My youngest - I am literally the centre of his universe (well I have to share with his big bro some of the time when they are not bickering) and I don't ever want that to change. Unfortunately, he is approaching high school age in a couple of years and I know from experience that he will no longer want so many cuddles and snuggles Sad

Plink yes, the rest days and flexibility of Liift 4 are great aren't they? I love only having to do 4 workouts a week and still get better results than I ever did working out 6 times with T25/21df. So much more motivating to know you can have evenings where you can get home from work, sit around and not feel guilty!

Shoulders tonight which is my fave workout of the week - only 30 minutes and no Hiit move for longer than 30 seconds Wink Then just need to fit in Legs some time over the weekend.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 09/02/2019 15:04

How did you get on with shoulders roman? I did that on weds as I wanted a quick workout and it hurt! I am no better at swimmers - they are painful. I know I should see it as a ‘good’ pain plink but it never feels that way at the time Smile

In good news though I did chest and triceps yesterday and mysteriously have suddenly got a lot stronger and did all the chest press/inclined chest press/corkscrew press using 8kg.
Did a run today. Legs felt really tired and it was so windy I was struggling a bit. It was nice to get some fresh air though.
Have a good weekend all!

Theromanempire · 09/02/2019 18:29

purple yes, did Shoulders yesterday and loved it! DH had done it earlier in the day and said it was hard but I found it ok! Did swimmers with 3kg weights and it was just about manageable. Did Legs HIIT tonight which was ok till the 2 x burn out rounds which were a killer!!

OP posts:
Theromanempire · 09/02/2019 18:34

Meant to add well done on the 8kg weights - that's good progress Smile

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 09/02/2019 20:41

God yes Roman I hate jumping to say it too soon but the results I feel are already amazing. Less bloated and tired. Sore yes but not as tired. And my stomach is definitely going down!!! I can't wait to see the results at the end of 6 weeks!
Oh well done on Shoulders and Legs!! Fantastic!

Purple well done on that progression! Must feel so satisfying going up to a higher weight 🤩🤩 and a run too 🙈🙈 I don't know how you do it 😂😂😂 you're a machine!!

Did Shoulders yesterday which was amazing though I clearly need to up the weights as I wasn't sore half as much as I should be. And I did legs today 🤩🤩 that was hard - biggest muscle group so it always kills!

I quite like Joel's banter. Makes me chuckle a bit 😄😂😂

PlinkPlink · 09/02/2019 20:44

Also, cheat day is tomorrow and I cannot wait! Pancakes for breakfast? Um.... yes!!!!!

Purpleraindeer · 10/02/2019 17:28

I think you are very strong roman and are just being modest. 3kg for swimmers is very impressive. I was dying with 2kg. I think you did warn me about the HIIT for back/biceps but holy crap it was hard. There is no way I can get my knees to my elbows for wide mountain climbers. Can you?!

Although I took my pulse at the end of circuit 1 and it wasn’t even close to as high as it gets during max30 so I think I might have been slowing down a bit too much. Blush

Enjoy the cheat day plink. I’ve got a great joe wicks recipe for protein pancakes. Yum.

PlinkPlink · 12/02/2019 00:30

Pancakes were lush thanks Purple

I had a lovely cheat day. There were even bits I didn't enjoy so much so I won't be doing that again. The second glass of wine I didn't enjoy as much as the first so now I know that's what my body likes, that's all I'll be doing.

Week 2 day 1 complete tonight and OH joined in on the Liift fun too with Week 1 Day 1. He enjoyed it much much more than T25 🤣 he's a cardio-phobe 😂

I can barely lift my arms. I worked damn hard. I really couldn't complete the triceps push ups or the wide push ups either because my arms were already gone 🙈 gonna feel it tomorrow!

How did you all do this weekend? Nice trips anywhere? Good workouts? Nutrition on point?

Purpleraindeer · 12/02/2019 21:39

Well done on triceps plink. I know exactly the feeling - Joel says by the end of the burn our your arms need to be exhausted but they’re already exhausted before you even start it! I swear I did about 2 tricep push ups the first time. I’m a bit better now but only a bit....

Week 6 legs for me tonight. All HIIT. Yay Grin I really like that one. Sadly I got myself a bit confused and didn’t realise there were 2 burn out rounds so I went all out on the first one and was broken. Then I realised I had to do it all again Shock good learning though as I actually did it so I obviously wasn’t as tired as I thought. Those triple bears are awful though. I toughed them out and did the full 30s unmodified in the first burn out and my legs were agony. That is the first time I’ve hung on as long as that so I was pleased.

And no - my diet is not on point. I’ve eaten pasta and biscuits today. And they didn’t even taste nice which is something I suppose

Theromanempire · 13/02/2019 11:18

purple me and Dh were exactly the same on Monday during the burnout round - Joel was saying you need to not be able to do one more push up at the end of the third round and we were both muttering about not being able to do another one after one round Grin Week 7 chest/backs burnout is a killer as each round has 3 x 30 seconds exercises in it - press ups, supermen, then another set of press ups Confused it hurts!! Impressive work on the triple bears - I still modify those pretty much all the time (occasionally I can do it for maybe one round if it is only for 30 seconds but that is very rare).

Plink glad you are seeing results Smile see Liift is perfect for cardio-phobes isn't it? I do often wonder about the different BB workouts - the new ones are always pushed as based on the latest research on what type/duration of exercise is best but they are all so different, what is the actual truth? I always found T25 too frenetic with no time to move between the exercises/change weights etc and I was uncomfortable going for 25 minutes without a break (I do still do some of the workouts when I am doing my own hybrid stuff but very select ones but I hate not being able to stop).

So Week 7 chest/backs on Monday - I used 7.5kg for all of the different chest presses which I hadn't done before. I managed fine but my chest really hurts today!! I also usually use 4.5kg for reverse back flys but totally forgot to change weights and used 5kg - and it was fine. Just goes to show that it is really easy to get comfortable and convince yourself that you can't go heavier! I need to push myself on other exercises now.

Doing Week 7 legs tonight - totally different format to the other legs workout - 9 weights exercises followed by 3 rounds of 30 sec HIIT moves - yay, love 30 second HIIT moves Grin But, from memory, your legs are proper jelly like by the end Shock

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 13/02/2019 21:36

Good luck with legs tonight roman.
I wish I’d read your post before I started wk7 chest/back. I did all the chest ones with 8kg. I feel achy already. I’m worried about tomorrow now! You’re right about pushing harder. It’s definitely more mental than physical - i think the way to do the burn out is to do each round like it’s your last. The problem is that it is so hard to make yourself push like that. Maybe you should start all workouts at a slightly higher weight and just aim for one set at the higher weight and see what happens? I try that but as I only have 4kg and 8kg weights when I move to the 8kg ones for say biceps I can normally only do about 2 reps!

Theromanempire · 14/02/2019 20:01

Didn't do legs last night - did shoulders/arms - but have just done it tonight. Omg, hardest workout yet I think!!!

OP posts:
Theromanempire · 14/02/2019 20:02

Sorry, not clear - have done legs tonight and it is hard!!!!

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 15/02/2019 00:17

Purple Oh my days!! Triple bears kill me 😖😖 I can only do like 10secs and then rest a bit, then another 10 secs... terrible! Well done for doing the whole 30 seconds. Ouch!! Weird how your taste buds change isn't it? I found that with chocolate recently and biscuits. Just not as satisfying? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Roman you're so right. T25 is great for cardio but it really is too long without a break. I can manage it but it's a very laborious workout and I'm hating almost every second. Love the buzz after don't get me wrong but during it? Ugh.
I highlight my tracker. All the exercises that don't result in me shaking by the end get a highlight and need to be pushed up 😂😂 seems to be working.
Oh I can't wait to reach week 7 and 8 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Purpleraindeer · 16/02/2019 19:21

I’m doing legs tomorrow and after your post roman I’ve got the fear!
Shoulders and arms today. Wasn’t great as I think my 4kg weight is a bit light (good problem to have) but 8kg is too heavy so I didn’t get a great workout. I nailed the swimmers and skull crackers for the first time ever though so I’m definitely stronger. Legs a bit sore after 11mile run yesterday. I thought it was going to be 9miles so I was a bit surprised!

I feel like you re t25 plink. I used to love it. Now I find 25min with no break a bit boring. I still love speed 2.0 and the gamma ones though.

Have a good evening all

Theromanempire · 16/02/2019 19:34

purple good luck, let me know what you think Smile

Did Full body HIIT this afternoon...It's very tough!! Very few breaks between the exercises - I couldn't catch my breath at one point!

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 16/02/2019 22:01

Purple ah well done!! Always great when you make those little bits of progress. Those little victories feel so good!! Still fitting in your runs too .. amazing!! I don't really have a favourite T25. I never made it past Alpha though so maybe I should give it a shot again sometime 🤔 Plyometric Circuits is my fave Insanity one.

Roman I am slightly dreading full body HIIT 🙈 it only happens twice though (silver lining?) - must be essential to the shred part. I did Legs HIIT today and well... I didn't enjoy it as much as the other workouts, put it that way 😂😂 so full body is gonna be a killer!!

In other news, I managed to stub my toe on my weights as I was putting them away last night 😟 I think I have broken it 😖 it's all swollen and sore. Very sore to touch. And a bit bumpy. But as its my little toe its not impeding me that much. I did still workout which may or may not have been a good thing... but I had to really not put any pressure on that side of my foot (triple bears were done at a slightly odd angle 😂)

Purpleraindeer · 17/02/2019 16:32

I am now stuck in my chair having sat down after week 7 legs. I think I will never be able to get up again! That was hard! I hadn’t realised it was 3x weights circuits so I was pretty done in after circuit 2 and then found there was another one! I had a little lie down after it was all over i was so knackered. I will be sore tomorrow but it is a rest day thank goodness. Grin

How is your toe today plink? Stubbed toes are the most painful injury ever (apart from standing on Lego/upturned plugs). Have you taped it. It might help?

I went to decathlon today to get some stuff for dcs. What a great shop - I can’t believe I’ve never been before! I wanted to buy everything. I tried 10kg dumbbells - I did 1 squat and nearly didn’t get back up again! I didn’t buy them but I will soon

Theromanempire · 17/02/2019 17:26

purple see, told you it was a killer workout (but in a good way Grin). Wait for the Doms tomorrow Wink

DH keeps talking about going to Decathlon but I am putting him off as I know I would want to buy the whole shop and do not want the temptation - plus our nearest one is a good 45 minutes away so not near enough to just 'pop' into! How much were the dumbbells out of interest?

plink ouch for your toe, hope the pain goes away. So much harder in winter when you can't just pop a pair of flip flops on and let it be 'loose' iyswim?

Rest day today and back for week 8 tomorrow. I have joined a Joel lift4 group on FB as he is going to post a hybrid 4-week workout schedule this week on it (I'm going to leave the group once I get it as all the posts really irritate me and clog up my feed!) I'm happy to share it when I get it...I'm going to do that after I finish week 8.

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 18/02/2019 23:46

Helloo! Wow this week 7 legs sounds hard-core 😖😖 well done both of you for doing it!! Woop!

Purple Haha upturned plugs 🤣🤣 I know the Lego one but not the upturned plug one 🤣 it really was hurting alot over the weekend but it's okay now. I did tape it 😄😄 and it helped so much!! I worked out tonight and there was very little discomfort.
Decathlon? I've never heard of it but it sounds dangerous. Like sportsDirect dangerous - I always want everything in there 😂😂

Roman I saw that!! And I joined the group too!! He's putting out on Wednesday isn't he? I wanted to do it after Liift to keep things going (got that holiday to think about 😂😂). How does it feel now your close to completing it again?

Week 3 Day 1 for me today and I bloody loved it again! I upped my weights to 6.25kg for my heavies and 4.5kg for my medium. Happy with that 😄😄
I'm noticing my stomach is flatter and less bloated which is always a bonus. Arms are gonna be sore tomorrow though 😂

Theromanempire · 19/02/2019 11:43

plink well done on upping your weights - don't you find the ones you used to find heavy suddenly feel really light when you pick them up after using the heavier ones? Do you get really irritated by all the 'after workout' photos and motivational shite on the FB page - or maybe that is just me Grin I do not need to see tons of sweaty photos with people faux bragging cos they have done 3 workouts in one day Hmm I have just had a nosy at the members of the group and there is one person who I have 2 FB friends in common and now I am wondering if it is you Grin Do you have any connections with the North West of England?

Started week 8 yesterday - the pushups in the burnout were no easier this time!

Am really confused about my weight - was doing really well in losing weight after Christmas and up to 10 days ago, was pretty much back to where I was before the Christmas blow out. Anyway, went out for DH's birthday tea so had a day off calorie counting and then I had a takeaway pizza a couple of days later - the scales went up by 4lbs Shock I assumed that it would drop back off as it has always done as it is impossible to put that much on in a couple of days - but 10 days later, my weight is stubbornly remaining the same Sad and I have no idea why. I thought it might be pre-menstrual weight/water retention but my period didn't appear (they are so irregular that I have no idea when they are due). I don't know what to do - Team RH has never failed me but I am at a loss now. I could reduce my calories I guess but I was consistently losing on 2200 calories after Christmas and then suddenly that has stopped, no idea where the 4lbs came from. I don't know what to do Sad I have 5 months before my holiday and need to shift at least a stone (ideally a stone and a half) before then. I have been buying holiday clothes in preparation at a smaller size as my weight loss has been so reliable and now panicking. Sorry, that is a bit of a pity party Blush

Reastie hope you are doing ok Smile

OP posts:
Reastie · 19/02/2019 12:03

That’s weird thermo. Maybe try some foods that are natural diuretics to see if it’s retained water. Have you got access to scales that do body fat/muscle? I’ve got fancy scales that do this (my gym have them too) so you can keep track and know of you’re just gaining muscle or what’s going on. Hormonal weight gain can be with me a couple of weeks. One day off and a pizza can’t equal 4 lbs?!

Have been quietly lurking a bit but every time I look it makes me so sad I can’t work out. Things here are pretty rubbish still and I’m really struggling with nausea. I manage maybe 20 minutes very gentle cycling once or twice a week, gentle yoga once or twice a week and some gentle toning work every now and again but literally that will be so much that the rest of the day I’m sofa bound. I’m getting really down about it and my body is now feeling very obviously flabby in the arms and legs and I have a bg double chin. It’s tough when I’ve worked so hard to lose weight and I have no control about it going on again. I’m aware I’ve gained far too much weight for pg but I truly am trying so hard to limit damage. I’ve gone up at least one dress size already and I still have 17 weeks to go. I’m good news I’m eating about 6-7 portions of fruit and veg a day (mainly veg, whereas pre preg I ate more fruit) and, apart from potatoes, have a healthy diet, just too much quantity. Also in good news I haven’t yet had thrush and I’d had it over 5 times by now last pg. I’m very tempted to say the lack of sugar in my diet just behelping with this but it might just be one of those things. Trying to stick to positives; I’m past half way, I’m managing some vegetables, I haven’t given up on gentl physical activity, being fit pre preg has meant my back so far has been a lot better than last time when I had painful spd by now. It is tough to stay positive though. Gp wanted to sign me off until maternity leave starts last week Shock .

I haven’t been to decathlon for years!

Reastie · 19/02/2019 12:04

Btw plink, I’ve scrubbed my toe on weights before, it’s an absolute killer.

Purpleraindeer · 19/02/2019 17:56

Omg - the DOMS post leg day!! I’ve had a sneaky extra rest day. I was planning a run but my legs were so sore I just couldn’t face it......
