Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

purple it is the same skirt Blush I have just been setting myself a challenge to fit in it every winter but failed miserably Sad But I do have a drawer of clothes that I could not bring myself to throw away when I outgrew them as I loved them so much so I am slowly starting to bring them back out of a 5 year hibernation Grin although it appears my style may have changed as I look at some of the items now and wonder what I was thinking Hmm

Reastie lovely to hear from you - sending you positive vibes that everything is ok. I wouldn't worry about the fruit and veg - honestly, the early days are so hard with nausea and exhaustion, just eat whatever you can and whatever you fancy!

purple one thing I have learnt from Team RH is weight is a funny thing that varies for no apparent reason on a regular basis Hmm Do your clothes feel tighter/fit differently? If not, I really wouldn't worry about it.

Went out last night to the cinema and KFC - I managed to not eat anything at the cinema and had a ricebox at KFC which is only 500 calories but has one piece of chicken in it so it still gives you the taste of the chicken. I did have a small pot of gravy and a handful of chips but it was till better than full on binging Grin

Good to hear from you reastie. I hope you get your scan. It is really difficult to not let your mind run crazy in early pregnancy. I was constantly convinced I had a mmc. I did have a chip timer so my time is from when I crossed the line but because I was at the back I had to wind round all of the slowest runners and run/walkers.

Good advice roman re weight. I ‘lost’ 1kg yesterday. Hmm but my clothes do feel a bit snugger too. I’m trying to be more mindful of what I eat this week and see if that helps! Mmx last night. I’m no ultimate fighter but it is a fun workout.

Reastie · 22/11/2018 08:23

Purple have you ever tried tap out workouts on secret site? That was going to be my next challenge once my injuries sorted out.

Booked scan for Saturday, just hoping I’ll be up to getting there.

Purpleraindeer · 23/11/2018 16:45

Hope you’re ok for your scan reastie and it goes ok Flowers. Not tried tap out but when I last went on the secret site there were no videos at all Sad

I’m sulking today as instead of my planned nice run I’ve been at home with a cold. Boo

Purpleraindeer · 24/11/2018 19:16

I’m just chatting to myself at the moment Blush
Eccentric upper for me today. Still a bit coldy so thought I should do something which isn’t too cardio. Hoping for a run tomorrow. DH bought me a new pull up bar as the grips on mine were all worn. Very kind of him I thought

PlinkPlink · 24/11/2018 20:25

😂😂😂 purple you're not talking to yourself 😂😂 I think this thread is wonderful for reaffirming students in your head whether that's goals or intentions 😊 hope the cold clears. I always found cardio great for a cold. Disgusting whilst doing it but great for clearing it out a bit 😂 yay Mr Purple for getting the pull up bar!

Reastie How did the scan go? Hope you're all okay!

Roman well done on not bingeing! I have to settle for homemade KFC (which I have yet to make) but I always think it's important to indulge a little in those things. Otherwise you go mad 😂😂 thankfully my taste buds seem to be going off crap so it's not too hard these days 😂 but a little bit of crap always makes it way into my diet

Still no workout as of late. Awful 😔 I feel awful but I'm slowly getting back to it... I'm trying to learn what went wrong last time and how I can avoid it this time 🙄 formulating plans as we speak 😂😂

Reastie · 25/11/2018 11:31

Purple did he get the pull up bar in Black Friday sale? I saw a good deal on the bb one and thought if I didn’t have one and needed one it would’ve tempted me.

Scan went well thanks although still doesn’t feel real despite feeling awful. Today is a bad day as it took it out of me going to get the scan yesterday and I’m feeling it today.

Weighed myself the other day and I’ve put on a stone in about 6 weeks Shock . I don’t really know what to do about it as I have to eat through the nausea and eat what I can manage. I’m managing to eat a little more variety atm, for example this morning I had some tofu, but I’m still eating too much. I think I’ll just have to get through the worst part and in a month or so when hopefully I’m perking up for short periods do some time on my exercise bike to try to limit the damage.

Purpleraindeer · 26/11/2018 09:14

Hi all

Reastie - no dh is not a bargain hunter so I doubt he got it in the Black Friday sale sadly. Am glad the scan went well. I hope it has given you some reassurance. My experience on preggo weight gain was that I gained loads in my first trimester and was massive but then it really slowed down by 3rd trimester (had gestational diabetes which stopped me eating!) so I ended up gaining 4kg in my 1st pregnancy and nothing in my second. I realise we’re all different, but try not to worry about your gain now as it is easily possible to slow it down once you’re starting to feel better.

Plink - sounds like you’re not quite back on your normal top form yet. Hang in there. Maybe now is the time for some gentle yoga or something similar to ease you back in rather than straight into the hardcore stuff?

I did 11m run yesterday. Woo hoo. Felt really good particularly as I was out by 8am. It’s nice to get out early in the day as I feel it takes less of a chunk out of the rest of the families day.

Theromanempire · 26/11/2018 11:17

purple you are not talking to yourself Grin I do read all the new posts but just struggle to post at weekends as I hate typing long posts on my phone and I never have my laptop on at weekends! Well done on the run - I agree that, as hard as it is to fight the urge to stay in bed and your pj's, getting out early and getting the run done is definitely the way! I used to love being out running on a Sunday morning when there was no one around. Clearly my love of running faded a lot faster than that feeling though Wink

reastie hope the scan has reassured you a little bit - any idea how far into the pregnancy you are? Do you have a due date? Don't worry about the weight gain - you are doing the right thing eating what you can, when you can and that is more important at this time.

Plink sorry you are still not feeling 100%. Agree with Purple that now might be a time to do something easy/enjoyable/your fave workouts just to get you back into the swing of it. I always find that after a break, the thought of exercising again is so hard but if it is something you want to do or isn't challenging, then it does make it easier. Try Country Heat - it is not challenging in the slightest but it is fun!!

Finished Liift (2nd time round) yesterday Sad I have decided to have a break from it until the New Year and then start round 3 then. Going to do a mix of 21df/21dfx/80DO/T25/CDF for the next few weeks. I am interested to see how much fitter/stronger I am after 2 rounds of Liift (or not??) when I go back to the workouts I was doing before. Thanks to a DC with a broken arm, we will have loads of time now to exercise as his usual sporting activities that involve evenings and weekend mornings have come to an abrupt stop until January so no excuses!

I am having a 'fat' day today Sad Hard to explain but I am feeling down that I have lost 2.5 stone and am not significantly thinner - I have probably lost one dress size (i.e. from a 16/18 to 14/16) and just feeling disheartened that what seems to be a big weight loss is not really impacting on my size (if that makes sense). I want to be a size 12 and I think the reality of having to lose the same amount again is making me feel like it is too big a goal Sad Particularly as I know that my calories will need to reduce again at some point to get to that goal and just not sure I can do it. Sorry to moan but just having a bad day!

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 26/11/2018 16:59

Urgh I hate a ‘fat’ day roman so feel free to moan away. I don’t think clothes size is a very reliable measure of thin ness though. It is a combination of chest, waist and hip measurements so you could easily be in a position that you are below the measurement for a particular size in waist and hip for example but your boobs are too big. Or in my case - waist gapes and hips are tight so I would be a much smaller size based on my waist than I am on my hips. This is a rubbish explanation I know but I guess I’m saying track weight and maybe waist/hip measurement and that will show you how much you’re losing and may be try not to get too fixated on clothes size.

Purpleraindeer · 26/11/2018 16:59

Also. I bet most people who are size 14 cannot do the number of press ups or lift the amount of weight you can!

Purpleraindeer · 26/11/2018 17:01

Argh - I hope that didn’t come out wrong. I meant to be making the point that you are much fitter and stronger than most people irrespective of your size. God. I think I need to stop posting now..... Blush

yumyumpoppycat · 26/11/2018 18:14

Plink hope you can find something on BBOD to inspire you. I have been totally useless and not done any workouts recently but with absolutely no real excuse.

Finally managed to half do do a 22 min hard corps workout today - I did special obs - have probably said this before but the rolley burpee things are impossible.

Roman have you been to the shops and tried on any new clothes - I think sometimes old clothes will look reasonable at a variety of sizes, but if you go to the shops and try something new on you might get a better impression of if you are able to fit into things you couldn't have worn before. I think I am also quite big boned so find once I get to a certain point my dress size doesn't go down although my weight still goes down.

Reastie really glad to hear your scan was positive - is that trimester 1 done now?

Purple well done on your workouts - you keep us going and def not talking to yourself, probably the only reason I attempted a workout today was to join you for a chat!

Reastie · 26/11/2018 18:22

Thermo I know exactly what you mean as I remember thinking the same. You’ve got to break it down to small chunks as looking at a big amount is too scary and overwhelming. I got from size 22 to 12 and did it by taking it a week at a time and a stone at a time. Concentrate on a small achievable goal and then when you reach that make another one. Give yourself a (good for you) treat when you reach a mini goal. This is a marathon not a sprint. That’s what got me through anyway, just hope I’ll be able to do it again! Purple is spot on that there will be lots of people thinner than you but not as fit and healthy as you.

Due date is end of June. I’m still barely 10 weeks. Time is going soooooo slowly.

Plink I hope you start feeling more yourself soon. Agree with the others, build up gradually. You’ll get back to where you were.

Purple thank you for the reassurance on weight gain in pg. I’m just surviving atm although last time it lasted throughout so I’m not sure exactly when I’ll be eating normally as I never did last pg! But I do remember it improving around 20 weeks even though it was still terrible. My goal is 20 weeks which will be roughly early feb. Just got to get to February and hopefully I’ll be able to start getting out a bit and building up myself outside a bit.

Theromanempire · 26/11/2018 19:12

Thanks for the encouragement. I think my issue today is realising I am always going to be 'big'. I am tall and my build is what you would probably call Amazonian Confused so I just take up a lot of space even if I was a size 10 Sad sometimes I want to be petite and elfin like!

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 27/11/2018 15:50

I need to check in more often 🙈🙈 got so much to write. Brace yourselves for the essay length response 😂😂

Reastie I'm so so glad it went well! I can't imagine the paranoia after being through what you've been through. I think you're doing amazingly well through all that sickness. You trooper! Don't think about your weight too much right now. Just focus on getting past these first three months and hopefully after that the nausea will subside. Then you can get back on to eating sensible stuff. One day at a time and all that clichè phrase stuff 😂 thanks for the encouragement, I am definitely going to take it super easy and not be too hard on myself. Breaks are ok (I have to keep reminding myself).

Purple I had GD too! Good thing too really as I was eating for... well... six rather than two! It was depressingly boring and all I wanted to do was stuff my face 😂😂 I really appreciate the gentle encouragement there... I think, for once, I am going to do it right and really ease back into it. Your yoga suggestion makes it a much smaller hurdle to get back on it. Well done on your run!! My neighbour encouraged me to go to the gym with her at 6am (a while ago now). I almost cancelled on her the first time but the rest of the day I felt bloody awesome so I kept going for a while. Unfortunately, my body just doesn't function in the mornings 😂😂

Roman oooh yes, Country Heat! I will defo give that a try! 😂😂 might give it a go tonight. See how it feels 😄😄 well done on finishing Liift. We all have miserable fat days Sad . I think it's easy to keep thinking of our goals and get disheartened we aren't there yet. All too often we forget how far we've come. Sometimes our inspiration can come from thinking about the latter. Look at old pics and remember how far you've come. Think about how much fitter you are. We also live in a society where we can get pretty much anything we want in an instant. I am guilty of this. If I don't have a six pack after 4 weeks (which I never do) I get annoyed at myself. And I don't know why when it's such an unrealistic desire. I try and remind myself that changes are more likely to stay permanent the longer it takes to get there.
I am with you on the wanting to be petite sometimes. I wish I was slender and all but I never have been. I've always been built a bit sturdier than others. Try and flip it round though. What are the positives of your slightly bigger build? For me, I can reach higher up shelves 😂 I can also flatten someone on the rugby field. I can leg press a ton of weight. I'm not going to break in half if the wind blows too hard 😂😂 there are benefits to being sturdy 😃 I totally get where you're coming from though.

Yum yeah I will let you all know 😃 I'm hoping Country Heat will be loads of fun even if I do look like a right numpty 😂😂 you'll get back into it too. It's this miserable weather... just want to snuggle up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and hibernate. I always struggle in winter. Well done on your workout though! Rolley burpees... hmmm... sounds interesting.

I think I'm going to set myself some SMART goals. I'm also going to buy one of those 5 minute journals that everyone raves about. I think it'll be good to do now the winter months have set in.

PlinkPlink · 27/11/2018 15:50

Bloody hell look at the size of that post 😂😂

yumyumpoppycat · 27/11/2018 21:45

Great post plink! what is a 5 minute diary? And how do you get all the different smilies!? curling up on the sofa with a hot chocolate is exactly what I want to do. So hard to resist all the lovely christmas drinks in cafes at the mo.

Roman I think it would be amazing to look amazonian. I am round and short but sadly even though I am short I will never be elfin either!

Another 22 hard corps done today. according to BBOD I have done 39 workouts so if I can get 11 done by christmas that wont be too bad.

Theromanempire · 28/11/2018 12:20

Plink did you do Country Heat? I have tried to think of the advantages of being Amazonian and am struggling Wink

yum I just watched the Special Ops to see what the rolley burpees were Shock that whole workout looks hardcore (never mind the rolley burpees). I think I would give DH a heart attack on the spot if I suggested it Wink

So it seems we have fallen into a 21df week this week - did Upper Fix on Monday and Plyo Fix yesterday so feel we should just continue through the workouts for the rest of the week. Upper Fix didn't feel particularly easier than it did before 2 rounds of Liift but I think that is because Liift is only ever 10 reps of any weight exercises whereas 21df is 60 seconds of as many reps as you can do so one is strength and one is endurance so don't think Liift would help with the endurance aspect. However, Plyo Fix yesterday - felt a big difference Shock Yes I was out of breath at times but it wasn't the 'oh my god, can't breathe' type of out of breath, more just 'I just need a couple of seconds to get my breath back' type (if that makes sense).

I am enjoying going back to old workouts - it is like pulling on a comfy jumper Wink

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 28/11/2018 21:33

I'm gonna go and do it now Roman

I'll let you know how it goes 😂😂😂😂

PlinkPlink · 28/11/2018 22:17

No no no no nooooo!!!

Dancing is not for me. Why do I never learn? 😖😂😂😂

No Country Heat for me ever again 😂😂
Fun for about 3 minutes but then I saw my reflection. So unfortunately not my cup of tea 😂😂😂 but whilst I'm here, I might as well see what some of the other workouts are like 😃😃😃😃

Next!!!!!! 😂😂😂

Theromanempire · 28/11/2018 22:22

Lesson is...do not do it in front of a mirror! Anyway, sorry it's not for you but at least it's got you back on the exercise train again Grin

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 28/11/2018 22:26

yum the smiles are on my phone 😄

DS woke up for a little feed so looking through Beachbody didn't happen in the end. I'm still here with him now 😂 but I need to formulate some sort of plan to get back into things 😊

Purpleraindeer · 29/11/2018 20:53

Hello!

Plink I’m the same re dance. Country heat is NOT for me! Glad you’re back into exercise though.

I love 22hc poppy but I hate that special ops workout. The roll burpee things just hurt my back and I feel like an idiot when I do them. You sound like you’re on for 50 workouts by Xmas

Reastie - am glad you’re still posting on here. Hang in there.

Roman - that’s great on 21df. Time to do 21dfx I think?! I’m short but not elfin. More hobbit like. I wish I was tall and Amazonian. I bet you don’t have to ask for help getting things down from cupboards!

Did eccentric lower (p90x3) on tues which I found a bit boring. Joel’s leg workouts are better. It had some Hungarian lunges (I think?) where you put your back foot on a chair and omg my bum is still sore now! Warrior tonight - yay my fave. I did a bad thing though. I was working at home and dh was here so I told dh he needed to go and get the kids from an activity as I was working. I then knocked off early whilst he was out to do a workout. Blush I felt a tiny bit guilty, but then massively embarrassed as the door went and I had to go and answer it wearing only my bra top and shorts. They got a fright!

Purpleraindeer · 30/11/2018 19:08

Mmx today. I wanted to get out for a run as it was a lovely day but time totally ran away with me. Hopefully tomorrow but knowing my luck it will be raining. 🤞
Happy Friday all!
